View Full Version : Is Hazel's survival the Greatest Escape in BB history?

For weeks now she has been castigated and demonised by both the viewing public and her fellow housemates, she has also held the dubious honour of having by far the longest odds to win the show for the last month or two, some bookies putting her at 80/1. She has been slated on BOTS, condemned in the press, and been a victim of a poor edit, very few people gave her a chance to survive this eviction as an odds on favourite and yet she has survived despite everything going against her

The whole thing is simply ineffable and a remarkable achievement, the likes of which has never been seen before on Big Brother

It was a mixture of Callum imploding and Hazel having a good week with the task.... Plus I think everyone voted for Callum no one split voted.

I'm pretty certain it has been seen before on Big Brother - but we can't deny tonight will go down in history, she done well.

She'd of been gone though had Dexter and Callum not of shot themselves in the foot.

Not really, there was no danger of her going after the Callum/Dexter thing dominating the highlights all week.

You will find yourself on the wrong side of history with answers like that Josy, the only thing I can possibly compare this to is when Prince Lorenzo survived over Cheryl in CBB last year

Im so glad she stayed even if its only to see the look on Ginas face,. She is ALREADY telling Hazel she thought she would go. Im off on hols and cant see the rest of BB so to have Hazel last till the semi final at least is the icing on my BB cake. It was a great series xxx

Once the twins were saved I knew Callum was a goner.

I don't think the general public hate Hazel as much as twitter/ some forum people.
I think the 'hatred' is a bit overhyped. It is certainly present online but obviously not so much by the casual viewers. She's been saved twice now, and even on this forum people seemed to be feeling a bit sorry for her or warming back to Hazel again. It is a good turnaround for her and will probably give her some confidence. She was so certain she was going! I wish the twins had gone. :-(

I think she got a lot of help from that last clip they showed of the campaigning - where she shut Callum down while everyone was waiting for the awkward to stop.

Definitely one if. A bigger shock than Rachel Rice slaying Stuart tbh.

Plus it being VTE, I thought the catladies would be gunning for her.

Nope anyone with an ounce of common sense could see what happened in the safehouse was not her fault, daley had free will to talk his way out of the house...so did callum, I really didn't enjoy the trash talking task it brought out the worst in everyone though tbf.

I remember Orlaith surviving 2 or 3 evictions by 1-2%?

I think it just might be :D. I love when evictions are unpredictable, close and unexpected and tonight's was all of those things rolled into one for many.

The greatest thing for me was going on twitter and searching "Hazel bbuk" and seeing all the jealous 13 year olds in confusion with how "the evil, home wrecking witch survived."

Tbh Callum pretty much evicted himself with his constant harassment of Dexter .

Dans survival on BBUS last year was the single most amazing thing ever seen on reality TV

Yeah too bad he lost almost unanimously.

Just watched it now, I am shocked to say the least. Good on her tbh, glad to see her stay despite the unneeded hate.

She's been helped by the Dan twist and then Callum's implosion.

She IMO would have been out last night if Callum hadn't lost the plot.

I think it very well may be the greatest escape. I believe that Hazel conducted herself like a ***** in the beginning and ironically got treated like one. However she has turned it around. Don't get me wrong I'm never going to be a fan but is always nice to see someone stop behaving like a *****!
