And when she said, "I don't like to see the girl cry but..." with that huge smirk across her fat face, I nearly threw the remote control at the TV!!

Her utter insincerity was shown yet again when Dexter turned on Charlie: Even as she uttered the words, "I can't believe this is happening. This is a nightmare!", her face said, "I am LOVING this!"
And as if to emphasize this, she even giggled!

Isn't Gina the perfect antidote to the boring housemates? Whether she's dropping bombs on the other housemates or being sentimental over them, she makes us laugh. She's absurd but funny. Charlie was born to play the pantomime victim and she was very at home being picked on and shedding a few tears. There's something about Charlie I like but you can't ignore the gaffs and the fact that whatever happens, she seems incapable of feeling embarrassment or genuine hurt. In other words she's indifferent to everything but reacts because she knows a reaction is expected of her. She was indifferent to Callum and Dexter but probably realised that Dexter was playing the Dog in the Manger and so went along with it. Callum was driven mad because he was losing and not clever enough to recognise what was going on.

None of this makes Gina/Charlie/Dexter particularly nice but it makes for entertainment. Hazel isn't particularly nice either but she fails to entertain us. As for last night's shenanigans, it was all a lot of posturing and acting, with Gina corpsing into laughter at the whole dog show. In my opinion, BB is not the place to go to for role models. Over the years the programme has become less and less about social observation (hard to believe that this was a key premise of the original format), and more and more about fame-hungry oddballs. I'm not saying that you will never see qualities like kindness, empathy and intelligence, but you may have to search hard among the camera-aware, selfish and frankly greedy contestants. Oh and, for what it's worth, there are a few people who do seem to go on the proverbial 'journey', whereby they appear to gain a little insight into themselves, but I've yet to see one of the contestants achieve anything that couldn't have been attained more easily by being considerate to other people when they're out in the real world, or by reading the occasional book.
