View Full Version : Shopping Task: Gina's Make Or Break Moment?

This week the shopping task is all about gathering honey for BB. Gina, of course, is the Queen Bee, so she has to lead and watch over the other housemates as they gather the honey. This week, as we all know, she has been at the wrong end of an argument. Could the way she handles and goes about this decide her future in the house?
"This week’s shopping task is going to be a bit of a buzz – but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re all going to have lots of fun. The Big Brother House has been turned into a busy working beehive – and as we all know, bees work very hard to ensure there’s enough honey for their Queen.
Gina is the Queen Bee, becoming head of the hive and reigning over the task. She’ll watch her hive from the lap of luxury and make all the big decisions. Our Queen will pick one person to become her Guard Bee – the muscle that keeps the hive moving and enforces all the decisions –leaving the rest of the gang as Workers.
Workers will live a tough life, with scheduled breaks and basic rations. On top of that, they’ll be wearing shock pads so that, should they fall out of line, the Queen can dish out some instant punishment. BUZZ!
Over the next two days, Big Brother’s going to be ordering honey. A target amount of honey jars will have to be produced by our drones at the end of the shift – but Big Brother will also state to the Queen that they’ll be given treats in exchange for any extra honey jars that are produced. This will be a secret from the Worker Bees, so it’s at the Queen and Workers’ discretion how hard the Workers will work.
The first day of this sticky task is going to see HMs working all the hours god sends at BB’s Honey Producing Plant. One Worker Bee will stand on a platform filled with sticky honey while the rest will walk in circles, leaning on a bar that stirs the honey and pushes it out through taps further along the assembly line. Other Worker Bees will stand next to conveyor belt waiting to scoop up all that good stuff. It’s going to be a nectar festival, if only our pals can keep their spirits up.
Let’s hope Housemates keep their stings in order and don’t bumble around too much!
No honey = no money."

The task centres around Gina? Surely not.... That'll make a change, right?
Why is she "Queen Bee"? Is it because we're led to believe she has money, and that really impresses some people?

Do you think this is another ploy by the producers to give her a second chance? Surely.

When the task was announced last week I knew BB would choose Gina
What's happened to the randomness of 'can one person come to the diary room' then the mad rush for the door?

Probably. What they should do is give her the opportunity to walk with half the prize money. Then we will be able to see if she is legit or not.

More likely they are giving her enough rope to hang herself.

A SECOND chance? How many tasks has she had? I'm sick of the sight of her.

Indeed. Can't believe the replies are saying this task is setting her up to win when it's quite the opposite.

Shes not actually had many tasks at all, shes just fresh in people's minds because of the letter task & the fact she pulls off the tasks so well that it gets airtime. (Sophies task didn't get shown yesterday as she was not exciting enough). The Twins have had far more tasks than Gina & Dan also had tonnes more when he was in the house.

I think it will do either. I think Big Brother is giving her the opportunity to either win it or lose it. It all depends on the way she handles it. I, for one, hope she leads the house well and regains some respect.

It maybe would have been better if she wasn't the Queen, because then she would have had a chance to put in heaps of effort into this task and show she is still willing to 'take one for the team' as it were. We should have been able to vote for who we want to see as the Queen!

Day 56: Housemates are stung by the Busy Bees task
The majority of housemates aren't having the greatest day of their Big Brother experience. The Busy Bees task has them all – aside from Charlie and Queen Bee Gina – working like drones in the garden, producing an absurd amount of honey in the hope of generating some funds for the weekly shopping budget. Reactions to all the slog are mixed. Obviously Gina's enjoying herself. She's even been inspired in terms of interior decoration. "I love the throne," she said. "I want one for my house."
Sophie's relatively okay with proceedings, mainly because she's been tasked with attending to the Queen's every need – tweezing the monarch's eyebrows, applying her makeup and making sure she sits on her golden pillow all day (the best way to protect the royal sting).
The twins, despite sighing a lot, remain upbeat. Joe even remarked that he'd rather be in the garden doing something than lounging all day, though his frequent envious looks over at Her Majesty tend to belie his point. Still, the pair are cracking on with the task, as is Dexter, whose only concern is that the gloop he's having to walk in might give him "trench-foot".
Probably the most vocal of all is Hazel, who's complained about her treatment from the get-go. From the length of time the buzzer pads get pressed, sending electric shocks to her behind, to the porridge rations served up at lunch, Hazel's complained about it all, turning the air blue as she does so. "This better not be a two-day task" she mumbled, spooning another heavy glob of porridge into her bowl.
So far, Sam hasn't been heard to complain. Indeed, the Welsh boy even led his fellow workers in a song. "Busy bees are happy bees. We love our Queen," he sang, with everyone joining in to raise spirits. That's the way, housemates. It could bee far worse.

I am really enjoying this task at the moment. Reminds me of why I fell in love with Gina. She is lapping up being Queen, making it hilarious to watch, but making them work hard which in the end will benefit the house because more honey means more money!

Sorry Chuff only just seen this.
The task was for Charlie's Birthday, she had to keep going to the DR every time they called her. In the DR she had to sing Happy Birthday & unwrap a gift one layer at a time. She basically had to do the same thing over & over again.
