Channel 5 has insisted that it is satisfied with the ratings for the latest series of Big Brother, highlighting the "uplift" in consolidated viewer numbers.
The 14th series of the reality show is consolidating up to 1.9m viewers, a 6% increase on last year's 1.7 million. It is also the best average audience since the show moved to Channel 5 in 2011.
