Watching Dexter apply foundation with a brush has made me wonder: Is it now becoming commonplace for men to wear make-up? Do the men on here wear foundation and lipstick?
And not forgetting the odd sight of the twins expertly using hair-spray :o
I have to confess I find the idea a complete turn-off. Maybe my mind is too closed :(

I agree with this, don't really get the fascination with men in make up, meh I prefer a more rugged look tbh.

By all means have your preference, like Josy has in the post above you, but don't define what makes a "real" man.

Men have been fighting for equality since time began, and being defined by women will set our cause back 50 years.

He looks stupid in it too, The hairspray is fine men have been using hair products for years.
I'm a bit on the fence about it tbh, I don't think I would like to fight over eyeliner in the morning with a partner
As a fashion thing punks /goths I'm fine though it's expression, but to look 'pretty'...

I'm getting pretty sick of this borderline homophobia

Who are you to define what a 'real' man is? What even is a real man? What a stupid saying. I don't know what decade you think this is, but we're living in progressive times, not stereotypical backwards thinking ones.

I always swear by soap and water, a good sharp razor, a splash of Paco Raban and a scentless roll on works wonders. I still cant get used to boxers but apart from that, most men are probably like me. Make up is for girls not men, but its no surprise to me that Dexter wears makeup, he minces way to easy for a straight man. Coupled with the fact that he admits to having had same sex experiences, he can be excused for acting like a ??????? but on the other hand, was he telling the truth or is the makeup yet another ruse. He is an enigma that has not been discovered and when in doubt, kick it out.

Wow. ****ing wow. I don't wear make up myself but has it ever crossed your mind that men may be insecure in their appearance too and so much like women wish to wear it to improve their confidence? Or are men not allowed that right...would it not make them a 'real' man if they were insecure? Actually, that's probably what you think isn't it?

Stop reading the Daily Mail.

Eh up, the homophobia police are out, who rattled their cage. The definition of a man is pretty obvious to all us old farts but in todays weird and wonderful modern world with all kinds of interpretations, who really knows. We now get men changing sex to be a woman then turning into a lesbian to be with a woman and then they complain that they are not respected or understood. I am so glad my world and its values make sense as black and white were always easier to understand than today grey colours.

You are entitled to an opinion chuff, It seems nobody is allowed a view without being marginalised as a bigot.
All these accusatory posts are not helpful.

It's actually these kind of posts that are unhelpful, and not any so-called accusatory posts.

"usual supsects" is a pretty dismissive way to address people who have raised questions about the stuff you've posted on gender roles.

Being called a homophobe and a rascist is offensive.
It is a direct personal insult and I would report any more comments chuff.

If I asked people I know I have no doubt they would say the same as you that dexter does seem very effeminate and you could be forgiven for thinking he was gay.

I'm not against it, although personally I don't find men in makeup attractive. I prefer more rugged, traditionally manly men. I could never love a man who has more products in the bathroom than I do.

Believe it or not there are some posters on here that think that being straight is a crime to humanity.

Homophobia police? Maybe if you weren't homophobic people wouldn't feel the need to pull you up on it, just a thought

The definition of a male is a being with a penis, actually. And the opposite for a female. That's your biological sex, gender is a social construct that is fluid and open to interpretation. This idea that women should cook and clean and play with Barbies whilst men should do the maintenance work on the house and go to the gym and act like suchalad~ are stereotypes developed over generations, they aren't actually real and set in stone you know. If a woman chooses to have short spikey hair and piercings, that doesn't make her a man nor does it automatically mean she must be gay, unless of course you're one of those that likes pandering to ignorant stereotypes. The same applies to men, if a male wishes not to go to the gym, be interested in cars, football and wants also to wear make up because they lack self confidence (God forbid a male actually have self confidence issues and be insecure, I mean ****ing hell how dare they eh?), that doesn't mean they aren't male and it doesn't mean they're a 'closet gay' (seriously, stop reading tabloid newspapers), it just means they're not willing to pander to societies ill informed stereotypes and wish to live their lives how they want to, not how they're apparently supposed to live it. Aside from genital and biological sex differences 'gender' doesn't really exist, because boundaries are being blurred and rightly so, you know there'd be a lot less discrimination and segregation if we continued to play with the concept of gender more, but then I guess segregation is something in your day that was oh so fantastic wasn't it?

And I can't even believe the remarks you've just made about transgender people, another transphobic comment from you I see. Actually, it isn't a case of 'oh today I fancy being a woman and then I'll decide I'm interested in women too', it's a psychological disorder where said person feels like they have been born into the wrong body and suffer years of mental trauma as a result whilst ignorant people that can't be bothered to educate themselves on the subject continue to ridicule them for what is actually a deep rooted and extremely serious issue, people that experience this end up taking their own lives because they feel they're not understood and they can't deal with the mental stress, but hey who cares cause omg it's different and weirdddd man~.

You can have a male that feels as if they were born into the wrong body, has gender reassignment to become female but is straight and is attracted to men. Yes, that's right...they are straight because they are a woman, not a man. A woman. And why? Because that's what they feel they are, and who are you or I to determine otherwise? You also have bisexual people that have had their gender reassignment or is that oh so confusing?

It's really not that difficult, do some reading and you might understand it a bit more.

Ignore them ,hes pushing to get me banned, its daily now ......:bored:

Actually it's the first time I've decided to pull you up on one of these comments for a long while, if I did it daily you'd know about it
