So he had a choice of choosing the 99k instead of the next lowest which was 88k. That's the way I see it. Charlie was last and therefore the highest amount she could choose (because the twins took 96k) was 99k.

So what she says makes perfect sense to me. He knew he'd taken the least amount out of the top amounts, as he would've been able to work it out. If there was 99k and the next lowest to that was 88k then it wouldn't take long to figure out that 88k is lowest but still enough to walk out smiling and make everyone think he chose a high amount.

He said he didn't see the 99k - Charlie and Sam are saying he's talking BS and he knew exactly what he was doing, which was trying to walk out with the money and instead of getting to the final.
