Why do so many people misunderstand Dexter?

people thinking he's acting and that when he looked gutted he was gutted because he hadn't won the 88k:conf: he's spent 126k on a bottle of champagne before, i don't think money means that much to him... (it also doesn't make him a bad person either, like some people also think. he wasn't hurting anyone by doing it)

he's already had the experience of having a lot of money, and like he said on tonights show "there's more to life than 1s and zeros"

it was pretty obvious to me that he was devastated when he thought he had to leave. all he wants is to get to the final and to be liked.

i don't know why so many people misunderstand him. so he's had a bit of a chequered past? he hasn't hurt anyone, he's just tried to show off a bit in an attempt to get people to like him. he seems like a genuinely nice guy underneath it all and it's just a shame lots of people can't see it.

Could it be because he is a prolific liar and fantasiser. We only have a couple of days till Emma asks him the questions we all want to know and he will answer the way we all know anyway so whats all the big deal. He is a little sad conman, end of story and he failed in his quest to make dosh from lies and cheats.

he's an ex gambler. he wanted the money to impress people. but he's learnt that you don't get real friends that way. hence the whole journey he's on now

Gamblers don't gamble for the money, any gambler who does is an idiot because gamblers never end up making money in the long run.

Big gamblers gamble for the cheap thrill / adrenaline rush. They are junkies.

Because Sam thinks that Sam is an Alpha Male and deserves to win even though Dexter is more entertaining, has a better personality and not dull like sam ....... its jealousy.

they don't misunderstand naything its simple maths, the man is a selfish liar. shame on you dexter. and his thank God at the end was cringeworthy B list acting at its worst.....id respect him more if he said the truth, he went for the money grab, but he doesn't have the minerals to be honest
