View Full Version : Sam has to win, doesn't he?

I'm just thinking as a betting man that Sam is basically guarenteed to win, he'll pick up votes from sympathy voters, Welsh viewers, teen girls and obviously fans. I'm not saying if he wins it's down to votes like that, some people do vote because he has a disability, it does happen, some people do vote on nationality, it happens, girls will vote because hes attractive apparently ( im a male I dont know ) and then people will vote because they generally like him. His two other rivals to win are Gina & Dexter imo, Gina may have lost fans due to the Hazel incident & quite alot of people dislike Dexter & he may of lost fans due to the money twist. Anyway Sam fans or not do you think he will win?

Just want to point out again I'm not saying Sam will win due to his disability & nationality but he will pick up votes due to them.

Anyone got odds for the final? Thanks.

Sam is boring, dull, uninteresting, useless and a total nonentity in that house. Of course he's going to win, it's what the public love to watch.

I think he's most likely to win. Although , maybe this is just wishful thinking but I think Gina and Dexter (or any of the other two really) do have a chance.

At least there's more chance now that the other "nice ones" in the house will take his share of the vote.

If ONLY the housmates knew Sam was the favourite it would be a very different story in there !

At the end of the day, I guess if C5 want him to win he probably will.

That said, surely the public aren't so fickle they'll play the sympathy card again regardless of anything else ?

The population of Wales is 3 million. Big chance most welsh will vote him to win.. but I think Gina is popular

I would also prefer Dexter or Gina to win but I just feel Sam is going to win due to the things I stated, if he wins I personally will be disappointed but it's a gameshow whoever wins wins.

Yeah I think he's got it BUT what I meant was there is hope because none of the others are hated by the majority, they all have fans. Except maybe Charlie.

It just depends how many watch BB and also how many will vote because of his nationality. Yes Gina is popular as is Dexter but I think Sam has more fans.

Thanks for the link.

Channel5 may want him to win but it's down to the voters at the end of the day...

I highly doubt the majority will vote out of sympathy but there will be a minority that do. It happens, it's not fair but like I said it happens.

Yeah I agree, they all have a chance, even if it's small.

You're right it's down to the voters but surely no-one can say edited HL and pro-support doesn't influence things.

I'm not sure if the majority will but just look at who won last year.

I think it's so hard to call this year. Gina and Dexter have the most rabid fan bases but the vote is split between them. Aaron was a wanker of a HM too (IMO) but he had a rabid fan base with no competition for the vote.
The nicer HM's, like Sam and the twins will also have split votes.
I don't think Charlie can do it.
I'll think Sam or the Twins might just have the edge though and I'd be happy with either.

I'm so sick of that old chestnut. People could equally say surely the public wont go for a scheming game player again like Aaron (in relation to Dexter).

Yes ofcourse the way the way they edit the show will sometimes be biased, I've seen it a few times with the twins this series. You're right it does influence voting sometimes.

To be fair, how can it NOT influence things or ever be completely equal in it's fairness ?

To keep the show a reality TV show, Sam or Charlie must win.

I dont see it as a reality show, I see it as an entertainment show, living with strangets whilst wondering what twists BB will do for over 2 months is not reality. It's a game show with the title this year as "secrets & lies", you would stuggle to get any futher than entertainment.

I'm convinced some only watch to judge HM's unfavourably like it's reality and they should ALWAYS "do what's right".

Yes, no-one wants a nasty b*stard and there are obvious limits living and breathing in the real world.

But seems to me some won't EVER compliment the ones they've chosen to pick at.

Some people need to try the novel idea of supporting the housemate of their choice instead of choosing to constantly bitch about other housemates.
Supporting housemates in the form of constantly attacking the others is such a negative depressing thing to do.

I have bitched about HMs I dont like before but it achieves nothing. It does get boring when people constantly bash a HM they dont like every time they get the chance.

Its just when it becomes a constant stream of abuse for no reason other than they might be a threat to a housemate of choice.
It gets so tiresome and has such a negative effect on the mood of the whole forum.

If you want to watch an entertainment show, watch towie
If you want to watch a gameshow, watch million pound drop
This is a reality show, a real person should win.
and by real I mean anybody who isn't an OTT camera seeker airtime hog, they're on the wrong show.

Agree with your sentiment.

Although I think it's fine to criticize (we can't pretend they're all perfect if they're not) just so long as we're willing to be positive too.

I won't limit myself to supporting or criticizing only one HM.

But equally I'll criticize my favourites and give the ones that I don't prefer credit where it's due.

Thats your opinion, not fact. Tell me what is real about BB to be giving the name 'reality show'... Big Brother is a gameshow, that is fact. There is contestants, tasks and a reward for winning. Why is anyone on BB? Money or fame are the only thing that springs to mind.

Maybe it used to be a reality show/social experiment back in the very early days, but personally I believe it officially stopped being so in BB5 when they started chucking the loony housemates in and throwing twists and turns at every possible opportunity. Until they return to producing the show as if it was supposed to represent reality, i'm never going to consider it to do so and i'll always support the game players.

I don't even bother watching soaps or crappy entertainment shows but BB is interesting for how housemates interact with each other (even if it's contrived).

Just ask yourself...
If it's really "reality" in there, why does Dexter just want 5 mins outside the house with Charlie to explain everything to her ?

The fact this series was named "secrets & lies" only proves more that it's an entertainment show nowadays...

You could argue Dexter doesnt want to explain everything to Charlie as he is being recorded, so whether it is Entertainment or Reality isnt important but yes I fully agree it is an entertainment show, for me anyway.

Pretty much this

I see very little about Big Brother these days that says "reality" to me. The housemates don't have a script, that's it. I don't believe that that alone equalizes all of the other multiple factors of the show that are so obviously controlled and manipulated to create a fun entertainment game show for us.
