View Full Version : The Welsh vote

Sam will probably win because of the Welsh vote - it worked with Rachel and Luke A, it's a very powerful force. What do others think about the Welsh vote and it's consistent strength in BB outcomes?

Does this actually exist? Like all the welsh winners and runners ups happened to be quite nice anyway so I'm not using that as evidence. But Welsh, Irish and Scottish people don't actually vote for their own do they?

The welsh vote is one of the worst things about BB.

Rachel and Luke A were two of the best winners SO normally I wouldn't complain about the Welsh vote but the only acceptable outcomes Monday are Gina Riownage or Charlielol

I personally feel that Sam deserves to win . Dexter doesnt because he is sly, manipulating, and plays with Charlie's emotions just to create headlines for himself. I would like Gina to win but she doesnt really need the money so she can come second. I feel Sam is a deserving winner, he inspires me to do better and has been really honest ever since the series started, unlike Dexter who's personally changes every now and then. So if Sam won then he won because he deserves to win, not because of the Welsh vote, because I will be voting for him to win and I am not Welsh, I am black African

Nothing to do with him being welsh, just the fact Gina, Dexter and the fatties are massive *****.

Well he certainly won't be getting my Welsh vote!:nono:
That said though, individual thinkers aren't too numerous down here in Wales. The 'Boyo' culture is in the majority but then again most of them would rather put their cash towards their next pint than vote in big brother.
I think the young girlie 'dimbo' crowd are the ones to watch out for. They'll probably be requesting extra pocket-money next week so that can put a few more votes in for their z-list level Harry Styles not-lookmuchalike, Sam.

I still think he can be beaten though! I'd love it to be Dexter who does it but even if it's Gina it would still mean Sam doesn't get the win that he's done absolutely nothing to deserve so it'll still be a victory for entertaining housemates!!!

If the bloody twins can beat Sam in an eviction then i'm sure he can be easily beaten in a vote to win Final, especially if he carries on with his constant hating on Dexter!

The welsh vote certainly will play it's part but knowing that he came in the bottom two last night with only 2% difference plus the fact that the twins and Charlie both beat him and they have no chance, the welsh vote at best might just push him up to 3rd place.

So when Craig won was it down to the people of Liverpool

When Brian won was it due to the Irish vote?

When Kate won was it because she was from England/London?

When Camerson Won was it because he was from Scotland?

We all know why Nadia won :)

Did Anthony win because he was from England/Newcastle?

Did Pete win because he was from England/Brighton?

Did Brian win because he was from Essex?

Did Rachel win because she was Welsh?

Did Sophie win because she was a northerner?

Did Josie win because of the Bristolian vote?

The list goes on......

Anyway I hate these threads I don't think people vote purely based on someones nationality or area and I certainly don't know anyone Welsh who has said "im voting for Sam because hes Welsh".

I am not Welsh but I will be voting for Sam and know many people from Scotland and England who will be voting for him too.

I think there is a difference with regional England areas as to them getting behind a housemate as opposed to a Nationality.

The Welsh, judging from those I have met, are a very loyal and determined people,I have no doubt they will do all they can to ensure strong support for Sam but he will also need the votes from people in other areas too and to be honest,I can see him getting lots of that easily too from elsewhere in the UK.

Welsh people don't vote for people just because they are Welsh. I think that will just be an excuse used by people of other nationalities who don't like Sam if he wins.

I think it says a lot about the welsh that they need to join force and vote for a welsh housemate to be winner of BB in order to feel some sort of content in being welsh. tab pathetic.

Voting for someone or anyone who has done nothing on a tv gameshow to win it just because they are of a certain nationality is absolute nonsense and such a none vote. But i am sure people will vote and he will be given an undeserving 3rd placing.

Possibly, but this thread was started by a Sam fan. And a few people have said being Welsh is part of the reason they support him

So it is likely to help.

Never much understood the regional vote myself, I would never vote for someone just coz they came from the same place as me (most of the geordies on the show have been horrific :bored: )

frustrates me when someone likes a housemate purely because of their nationality and for no other legit reason.

I have no problem with anyone voting for who they like at all be it for their nationality or they like the look of someone ( eg: he looks like Harry Styles i'll vote for him). It is wrong to me but that is people for you, fickle at best, they do vote like that and i am ok with it but i do think it will still not be enough for Sam to win the show, i do think that his behavior towards women will affect his chances, this is my own opinion, BB editing has been appauling for cutting out Sam's rude sexist remarks ( which he himself has owned) and this to me has back fired because of social media we all know what is not shown on the HL show and that will defo come into play when it comes down to the final 3 on monday. If Sam win's on monday casual viewers will be cheering yet un be known to them there will be massive booes all across the country from people on their laptops who have seen the un edit version of the real Sam that BB did not want you to see.

Barker, this is a vote of differing personalities not differing areas of where one lives though

I think people who vote based on the fact that a housemate lives in the area they live in need to get a grip of themselves tbh.

Sam has said himself on a recent VT that he will only give 25% of the money to charity, another 25% will go on back rent to his parents and the last 50% will go to himself, so expect lots of pub crawls in his local area but not on the pub he got barred from. Gina has stated that all the £100,000 will go to charity.
Which is the better cause YOU decide. Sam gave No mention to using the money to teach kiddies.
