should romance be banned from big brother - this will create a huge tension and better the game 18.08.13
the same happens every time,
my life i will lay,
it is a very late chime,
step in the romantic delay.
absolutely pathetic,
Charlie has played me like a sucker,
from Jackie i no its not genetic,
its like comparing Mark Fowler to Tucker.
if you want love,
big brother is not the facility,
so let me give you a shove,
there's a clinic to help both with fertility.
the business plan may be down,
the dollars are seeping,
but Charlie is no Queen with a crown,
this king does not walk but is creeping.
no understanding of you is proof,
this journey has been a bore,
no more romance under the BB roof,
this fundamental rule would make tension soar.
( instead of watching 9 weeks or ever how many weeks it is on, watching 2 people fall in love only to come out and sell there story to the press and make a few £££££ only to then break up a few weeks later and to never hear about them again - would it not be better to make no romance of any kind a fundamental rule ? a bit like talking about nominations ? or do i have it wrong ? and romances are the best thing about BB ?)
Vicky.

I dont see how it could be banned :conf:
I wish they wouldnt focus on it so much though.
Not banned...just blanked....and I guarantee that it would be eradicated within a couple of years!

I voted yes.
However I know you can't "ban" real romance, but I don't think any couples should be allowed form in the house. No kissing/other romantic contact allowed, no love triangles, no more 'DC's' relating to possible romantic relationships together, no talk at all of lovey dovey relationships together or what might happen together outside the house.
If two people genuinely fall for each other, it will probably become evident to see regardless of these rules, but at least with these rules they would have to wait until they leave the house to discuss or do anything about it and we wouldn't have to watch their boring chatting each other up conversations, or have entire highlight shows taken over by their romance.

cant really stop it. i never liked the shomance stuff on any BB. if anyone watches BBUS that couple is dreadful. watching the feeds i hate it when they get left alone and they start kissing. its just not pleasant to listen to.

BB could also send people to separate jails if they looked like they were getting too flirty, and let them know that their jail time will not be aired so that they don't just do it deliberately for airtime.

You mean cut them from the HLs?
But that won't stop the tarting going on in the live feed.

Don't know how they could ban it.As Vicky said,Just don't focus on it.Infact show as little of it as possible,That would hopefully stop hm's thinking showmances get them to the final.

Yes blanked on both the hl's and lf...All housmates are intentionally targeted aren't they Gusto?....when the showmancers walk into a room...live feed switches to somewhere else!
Cheers.

No it shouldn't be stopped however I wish you would of just put simple answers of "yes" or "no" because I don't "love" seeing people fall in love.

Yes stop all romance. Electric shock pads to be applied to every wobbly bit in the house, to give 2,000 volts at every twitch.

But what if the showmancers are right in the thick of something else interesting that is happening, if it is something that involves both of them they will have to be shown.
Also if showmancers are allowed to just carry on and blossom, then despite the bonus of us not having to see them if they are just not aired, we will also never get to really know those housemates.
At least if romances together were outright banned they would be forced to talk about different things and to show other sides of themselves apart from all the romantic crap.
I do think you would still be able to tell if 2 people genuinely liked each other, but a lingering glance or secret smiles at each other I can put up with and would probably find cute and be rooting for them on the outside.
It's the full blown lovely dovey 'romantic feellings' conversations, kissing and being glued at the hip couples who I don't want to watch. :spin:

There obviously have to be the odd exception, and from time to time we may get a glimpse...but not drowned with it.

That will have been their decision though Pink, and will serve as the strongest deterrent to their 'forced air-time shenanigans' .

I believe that a 'banning' of showmances could not be reasonably enforced.

I agree that it is definitely the most boring aspect of the big brother game...but then, how can we ever say that the hm's are being themselves and natural if they are banned from this natural emotion?...i'm not saying that i've ever believed any of the showmances on big brother...but it is just possible that one day..??
Cheers.

Pretty crap gameplan. No originality, easy and talentless. Anyone opting for that total cop-out clearly has nothing else to offer and should be written off with immediate effect.

Yes as:
1. It's boring to watch.
2. They're not really in love.
3. They also normally hog up spots from Housemates that deserve to still be there.

can you talk about nominations ? are there any consequences if you do > does this cause tension ?
could not the same rule be applied with romances? would it cause a mass frustration noing that you are not allowed ?
would it stop all these endless mag deals of how romanced blossomed in bb ?
