I think maybe your looking too much into things, if I was in their position I would be doing laps round the house and guzzling the water, I bet they are nervous as hel.

I dunno, if Dex really did go in for the experience/acceptance, and if Sam really did go in to raise awareness, then nothing has been wasted.

To be fair Sam looked furious when Gina went before Dexter, I dont think Dexter gives a s**t about Sam or whether he wins or not. Sam has hated Dexter ever since Callum got into his head.

Ironically Callum going probably helped him win as he became about 100 x s more likeable without that parasite riding his sympathy train.
