Is anybody pretty sad that its another male winner? I mean I love Dexter and I will be in euphoria if he wins, but I do kinda wish it had been a women this year. And I don't even mean just Gina I just wish that there had been more strong female characters that people liked this year.

A woman won't win on C5 era as

- the non threatening Josie, Rachel types such as Sophie, Wolfy don't get AT
- big character females e.g deana, gina are depicted as argumentive or manipulative or jealous of other females. Judy behaviour expert asked gina why she picks off other females whilst ignoring males such as sam and twins picking off ie nomming dexter every week possible.
- if a female doesn't have a showmance it's tricky
- men are chosen for personality gameplaying and wit women for bitching. There will never be a female Aaron or Dexter, the next one will be male
- glamour models eg sallie and hazel are what desmond loves but they are no longer likeable sophie reade ( congrats sophie on baby)
- when a man rows he's being assertive when a woman does she's being a bitch.

I don't think there will ever be a girl v girl final 2 tbh, I know some people hate these generalisations, but there are hard facts in reality tv in general that it is very very rare

Waiting for the sexist card.

(even though the public are sexist.. but y'know).

Well it's just like how in BB8 an all-female launch was deemed "controversial" when IMO having only one biologically female winner in the first eight years was equally controversial :\

True. You can't deny the truth that sexism still plays a huge roll in things like this. Not all the time, but pretty often. Hazel gets labeled as a slut man-stealer but Sam saying "you make my winkie expand" is hilarious and makes him winner worth. So many people are harder on women because they are women. Lets not pretend.

Considering every single season that I've watched (BB5 onwards) has had more females in than males, statistically wise more girls should have won BB, but 5/14 is very poor odds considering there have been many more female housemates than male housemates in the house, but whatevs, Gina was robbed. :spin:

I don't much care about the sex of the winner really.

The public certainly love a sausage fest final 2

Spot on, the UK love a bit of hypocrisy.

The public certainly love a sausage fest final 2

Because the demographic is mostly female.

I think if the demographic was male, more guys would win too tbh, guys like guys more & girls like guys more, what I think anyways. I found way more of the guys likeable this season than the girls, but Gina was my favorite. Same with last year too & the year before.

But there's a MUCH larger chance a female is going to dislike another female.

Just about every human being in existence is misogynistic and those are the facts. Women are poorly received on BB because the viewers/society is sexist scum.

I don't think it will happen now social media plays such a huge part.

On the other hand a woman can marry a male winner so it's kind of fair isn't it?

Women aren't popular on the show-that's why they get booed on the way in AND on the way out, and why there's usually a male winner, I think there's still a lot of sexism about in the general population; even among women, they just seem to think men are "nicer", that's why Hazel (still) gets more abuse than Daley and guess who he was out with the other night? Gina's boy-fiend (not a spelling mistake, I hate her and him).

There -could- have been a woman winner this year but all the strong women went one after the other-I genuinely think strong, capable, confident women are disliked by men because they're seen as a bit of a threat to their "importance" and power, and I think women don't like them because they're embarrassed and want men to think that they're nice so they act shy and submissive and think that other women should do the same.I think it's banged into them at a very early age.

Yes you're right. I forgot we live in a world where men can't marry women who have won money on games shows. What a fool I am.

Exactly the opposite. All the best are women. Makosi, Charley, Nikki, Bea, Noirin, Chanelle, Nadia, Jade, Melanie, etc etc. The only truly great men I can think of are Victor, Nick, Science, Brian Dowling, and Alex Sibley.

Men can be bland and win. Bland women barely make HL show

A female will never get past 3rd place, a la Gina, Deana, Alex as long as it's on C5. The majority of the voting demographic just don't like a strong female.

I just realized, three series and no female has finished in the top 2 yet. I am going to guess that BB15 will deliver the first female winner, but not one that I like. First three on channel 4 were all male/female top 2.

It's a shame, because this is obviously the third series on C5 and I was thinking the other day how it'd be kinda cool if we started a parallel pattern to C4 series by following their winners pattern:

Series 1 - Male winner
Series 2 - Male winner
Series 3 - Female winner (on C4 it was a first, but on C5 it could've been another first and a historic one at that if it were the first black woman to win ;))

Not true at all:

Only 2 good male housemates in BB12 ( Aaron + Anton), The majority of males in BB13 were ****e ( Conor, Arron, Luke S etc), and equally ****e ones in BB14 ( Callum, Daley, Twins )

Jesus christ ANTON of all people is considered a good HM in these parts now? You guys must have really low standards tbh.
