Strange how no one on here has mentioned or even acknowledged this remarkably kind magnanimous gesture

he is only 22/23 he is not wealthy at all, he has no real career path as such, yet after winning £100,000 he gives away £25,000 to deaf charities and £25,000 to his family

what a class gesture and a wonderful thing to do. proves yet again what a genuine kind compassionate person sam is. Bravo:hello::banana::pipe::)

Good guys do come first!

I mentioned it but got the usual "I'll believe it when I see it" remarks.

Well..the only other time someone has said they would give money away was Josie I think, and Steve never did get his leg..can understand the skepticism

So she didn't buy him a new artificial leg, I honestly didn't think she would.

No surprises there, Josie was awful. :joker: So disappointed when she won. A terrible end to a terrible series.

Absolutely, I perfectly understand the scepticism, just a predictable response tis all.

Yes, I think Josie is my least liked winner ever. Its wrong, but I cant help blaming her for the quad eviction decision. That final had the potential to be fantastic and unpredictable. But they chose to hand it to her on a plate instead :bored:

I still don't think that the quad would have happened if she didn't have the pass. I really don't/ I don't know what they stood to gain by making sure she won, but it really did seem they were desperate for it.

I'll believe it when I see it. Didn't awful Rachel Rice say she was giving the prize money to charity and she didn't?

Not sure if Rachel gave it or not, but from what I remember, Rachel was quite forced into saying she would by Davina who pretty much said in her winners interview 'you are an awful winner, you dont deserve the money, who are you giving it to' :bored:

I think they just didn't care by that point. In a couple of weeks time they would be literally holding a funeral for Big Brother so they could do whatever they wanted.

If they were going to get rid of all the entertaining housemates and give us a rubbish winner, I wish they chose Andrew instead. That would've been hilarious. :joker:

Probably guilt because he knows that him winning was an insult to the viewers - leaving aside his deafness, to me he was an unintelligent yob in every sense. If he gave all of it away, it would not make it less ridiculous that someone like him could win.

The money he is giving to 'The Dog n Bone' is not a charity for deaf dogs, it's his local boozer.

Dexter was going to give some to Charity and also to the runner up and 3rd place (as long as it wasn't Gina who has enough already or Sam).:joker:

I'm sure it came out that she had offered the money and Steve refused because some company that made the legs were donating them to him?

I'm sure I read that on here somewhere after that series ended.

Gestures like this, as well intentioned and "nice" as they may be, are also incredibly stupid. Give your family a chunk by all means but 25k is waaaay too much money for a young guy of middle class background to just give away without good reason. He will almost certainly never see such a windfall again in his whole life, HE needs the money himself!! Give your 3 favourite charities a grand each, they will not complain, it is extremely generous, enough said.

The world is not fair, its tough out there, look after yourself and your loved ones with everything you have got if you wish to survive and enjoy life. Your overly generous gesture will be long forgotten by those shouting how great it is, in no time, after all.

25K LOL is that all he uses his disability to win and gives 25k that he will get that back easy if he hasn't already plus tax deductable. meanwhile pockets a cool 75k plus everything else he will get from it. not bad for sleeping through a show then being a nob

Yeah, but IIRC there was no fanfare about it. It was a shock (to me anyway, had never heard him mention it in the house) and he pretty much just handed it over there and then, and that was the end of it.

It was a long time ago though so I may be wrong.
