Wow. I've just been watching some launch nights from the early BB days.

So much more positivity in the BB live crowd back then, more easy going.

Everyone used to get cheered on the way in, whoever they were. It used to be the same on eviction nights too.

Booing was very rare in the old days. These days it's rare for housemates to get cheers!

Seems like a lot more people get off on negative booing/chanting in the BB crowd now. Much more of a moody crowd than it used to be.

Actually made me feel sad seeing the difference between then and now and remembering what a more relaxed laugh it was back then.

Does it mean the country has become more cynical and we are now quicker to judge others than we used to be?

Or is it simply that the BB live crowd just attracts the type of people who get off on booing others while the more positive viewers prefer to stay at home?

It used to feel like a game show in the crowd. Now it feels more like a public execution!

What has happened ?

It's partly the show's fault. They push these rivalries to the point where housemates are pitted against each other (in purposefully created tasks like the Queen Bee one) to intensify their dislike of one another and ramp up another 'storyline' which is amped up again in edited highlights causing passionate fanbases to choose sides, each side booing the other.
