Hayley found out that she fathered a son while she was still Harold, she then got in touch and told Stephen the truth, and he proceeded to punch her, then Becky went to Christian's record shop and beat him up, lol.

It was in that era when they had a bunch of really low grade storylines - See also Michelle's "real son" storyline, which I truely do think has now been retconned out of the show's history.
