I have had the Winter Blues for as long as I can remember, and so has my Mum and I was just curious to know if anybody else had it tbh, what with it coming up to the 'winter months'.. it's a ****ing ******* that's for sure.

I get it and it's the worst, the days getting darker sucks so much, I want summer back :(
Nope.
I would say I'm happier in the winter, with the snow, frost, xmas new year etc.
I do know a few people that suffer from it though.

I hate summer with a vengance. Autumn is pretty crap too.

I'm okay until about January time then I get really quiet and deep in thought. I do find my best writing comers from now until the end of winter though.

Yes I have it. It really gets me down when it's dark early and miserable. Feel so blah.

You take that back about Autumn!
October/November/December - the best time of the year and for the last 2 years January has been great as well

probably have the SAD symptoms all year round Lol
I'm alright Nov-Dec. Loads to do in those weeks. Then Jan is all about fresh starts which lasts about a week and then it gets ultra depressing from there

Oh yeah, that would annoy me. The season itself is great though. The scenery, the colours, the smells, bonfires, guy fawkes, halloween.

Just a boring time really. Fast forward Summer 2014 tbh.
Not really, do much prefer summer and start to wish it would hurry up once we get to January/February time, but I don't get really depressed about it and there are some parts of winter I do quite like as well once we get past the terrible autumn

Despite it being on the NHS site and everything, I'm not even convinced its a real thing.
'Depression' at certain times of the year is the definition apparently, yeah right. Feeling a bit down is NOT depression
It might actually be a real thing(still doubtful) but if it is, not half as many people have it as they make out tbh.

It's more of a common thing in Scandinavian countries, USA and Canada that are closer to the Arctic Circle who see very little daylight where people actually commit suicide over it. People in the UK just like to dramatise their winter blues.

My mum gets down when it's dull, these energy saving bulbs don't help, it takes 6hrs for them to warm up and throw any light out :(
I hate them, I want my 150watt bulbs back!

I don't think that's really fair. I agree that more people probably say they have than they do but it is a real thing.

Oh God yeah, there's nothing worse than waking up to dark grey miserable skies, I really hate the winter

ah yeah, when I say I get it, i just mean I feel down more often during the winter, I know people who genuinely suffer from depression and it's not like that, not for me anyway.
