..no, I wasn't that keen on it because even though it's the AHS story atm, I don't think it's that friendly a name for a chat thread but it was up to Tom as it was his thread so I and others left him to make the decision..which I see he has and I it's a good name and also Halloween related...

I think it's because we have 4 major holidays all back to back... halloween, thanksgiving, christmas and new years, it's like 3 months of excitement, and it all builds up to a major release on New Years. I love it. The timing of the holidays really helps to build excitement and get people in the spirit.

It's like a cycle. you start with celebrating evil and all things dark and letting your mind and imagination go crazy and explore your darkest fantasies on Halloween, then you have Thanksgiving which is celebrating the harvest and bounty and you are still celebrating greed which is bad, but also celebrating family and coming together and giving thanks which is good, and then you have Christmas which is all about celebrating good, generosity and sharing. and then you have New Years which absolves everyone of their year, and you can start over all fresh and new.

The American holiday season is like a circle.

...hah..I usually put the songs/carols on, on Christmas Eve, which is sometimes when I put my tree up..(if I'm not organised..)...but I love all of those movies on Christmas24 and drive the family crazy, watching them all of the time....mind you, I always have all the decorations before New Year and don't like to watch anymore Christmas related things after that either....I do love it though, I'm just not organised...

..we have been known to take them down the day after Boxing Day, Annie.. and that's not because we're Scrooges because the whole family love Christmas itself and would hate not having decorations but once Boxing Day is over, we fairly much go back to our routines, so it doesn't bother us not having the tree there....
