My only inclination to watch it over Sherlock is that BBC I player uploads stuff a hell of a lot faster and is a better service than 5 on demand :joker:
C5+1 ;)
C5+1 ;)
I haven't got a telly at the moment :bawling::bawling:

Officials for the first 3 days will be available tomorrow, so will be interesting.
Tonight I predict 2.3m, with 300k of that coming from Ch5+1 because of Sherlock. It should be more though!

Should be. Hopefully the officials add around the same as CBB11 (around half a million-600k on average), if that's the case, we could be looking at a 2.9m-3.0m official if they keep getting ~2.4m over nights.
Jake.

2,046,000
Not sure if that is with plus 1

Is that 2.4? it probably includes +1
Big competition though its just gutting that the 2 best episodes of the series were shown on the wrong days they both deserved 3 million.

2.31m inc +1 is great for CBB considering the competition of Sherlock and Fast Five. People seem to forget that these ratings are higher than most of BB10's over nights and half of BB11s (the final 2 series on Ch4), so it must be doing something right. Tonight I predict around 2.3m again because of Benefit Street and Bake Off, but Tuesday should be around 2.4m and Wednesdays around 2.5-2.6m I predict.
Strong time for BBC1 at the moment. Strictly, Sherlock, The Voice, Bake off... Good job BB isn't actually trying to compete with it :D

When are these officials coming then? GRRR!
It best not be like last year where they didn't release some of them.
*mazedsalv**
13-01-2014, 12:35 PM
First 3 officials are in... in brackets are the overnights they had
Launch- 3.69m incl +1 (3.40m)
Saturday- 2.35m incl +1 (1.86m)
Sunday- 2.92m incl +1 (2.34m)
Great start, already close to 3m for that Sunday. It's clear we will see some 3m+ officials.

Awesome, aren't they? Outside of the launch and final, CBB11 managed two 3m+ officials, I think we could get a few! That launch and Sunday ratings look brilliant.

What was last January's launch officially?
3.83m I think.
So in terms of launches officially...
CBB8- 5.27m
CBB9- 3.60m
CBB10- 2.96m
CBB11- 3.83m
CBB12- 3.18m
CBB13- 3.69m

I think at the rate we are going now with over nights and the current 3 officials, we should be looking at 2.9m, so yes, it would be the highest series in general since Ultimate BB which got 3.1m.
It would have beaten BB10's 2.5m and match BB11 which also got 2.9m. So it would be on par with BB11.
Jake.

They are good ratings but the launch and the Saturday show are down on CBB11.
CBB11: Launch: 3.83
CBB11: Saturday: 2.68
Really impressed with the Sunday episode though hopefully with last nights filthy episode it should be over 3 million.
Looking back through old ratings I thought CBB9 averaged more than 2.6 :/
So the highest Channel 5 rated CBB is CBB11 with 2.81 I cant really see this series averaging that can you? That only had 2 episodes go under the 2.5m mark it did really well. Then again if CBB13 timeshifts well it could match it.
Maybe 2.7/2.8 otherwise.

I can't see why not. The Sunday official came from an overnight of 2.3m. The ratings on average this year have been 2.4m, with the fake eviction getting 2.63m and Evander's getting 2.54m. If episodes time shift the same as the officials did so far, we are looking at 2.9m for sure. For it to average under 2.8m, I'm pretty sure we need to see the over nights dip to 2.2m nightly.
Launch and Sat are down but those are the only two episodes that are down on CBB11 so far this series. Every single CBB13 episode from the Sunday onwards has been higher than CBB11.

Last night dropped a little sadly... CBB got 2.29m incl +1. Dented by Benefit Street which got 5.1m on Ch4!
Despite the stronger competition, CBB was still up on the 2nd Monday of CBB11 which got 2.24m.

Celebrity Big Brother continued with 1.92m (7.8%) at 9pm (371k/2.3%
2.29 which is pretty crap. These last few ratings are actually pretty close to what CBB12 was getting.

16-01-2014, 09:27 AM
Yes it is. Everything pretty much failed. In the 9pm slot (well not all starting at 9pm, some at 8pm and 8:30pm):
ITV (FA Cup)- 3.3m
BBC (Waterloo Road)- 3.3m
C4 (24 hours in A+E)- 2.6m
So that is why the share is so high. Looks like people just weren't interested in TV last night!
*mazedsalv**
16-01-2014, 09:41 AM
The 9pm ratings:
Is that one of the closest 9pm battles between all 5 main channels in a long time? All within 1.3m of each other.
BBC1- Waterloo Road- 3.33m + Live at the Apollo- 2.15m
ITV1- 3.27m
Ch4- 24 Hrs in A&E- 2.60m
CH5- Celebrity Big Brother- 2.49m
BBC2- Wild Brazil- 2.03m

I agree. But it seems not many wanted to watch TV last night judging by every single channel doing worse than usual (well especially the main 2 channels), and that reflected in the brilliant share.

How is it going to be 2.9 I don't understand the logic there, im sure its getting the same if not slightly less than CBB11 highlight shows?
It's up 150k on CBB11 in terms of overnights at teh specific point (2 weeks in). The 2.4-2.5m it has gotten all week will timeshift to 2.9m-3.0m.
The first official showed that the first Sat and Sunday time shifted almost 600k. If 500k-600k is the average it is going to timeshift than it will be 2.9m+ official.
This week, 5 of the 7 shows were up on the equivalent of CBB11 in terms of ratings. People seem to be blind to CBB11 success. In terms of overnights it was averaging 2.2m-2.3m, it just added **** loads on the officials.
How did the live feed that I completely forgot was on for the second week in a row do last night?

Can't believe how well this series is doing, i'm glad last night got the ratings it did because last night's show was one of the best ones of the series in my opinion, hopefully some of those people stick around and C5 advertise the final a bit to give it as much of a boost as possible!

Agree. Ch4 have a habit of milking a show if its successful (Gypsy Wedding, Location Location, Grand Designs), etc...
Pretty sure things like 24 Hrs in A&E are getting less than half of the ratings than they did a a couple of years back.
Benefits Street will probably have a 2nd series then it will flop it won't be a big show

Yre because Channel 5 would never milk a successful show  anywho, Im loving benefits street but the ratings will go down, but I always watch it on +1 of course. I think C5 need to take leaf and do more controversial shows like C4 does, didnt realise how contro C5 could be till they took on CBB
Benefit street will quickly start to fail once people get bored of tuning in to feel outraged.

As consistant as ever. Every episode bar Saturday has been the highest rated of the previous weeks. Eg. Sunday was the highest Sunday rating, Monday highest Monday of the series etc...
This week is just half way through, but here are the weekly overnight averages. This week looks set to be highest of CBB13.
Week 1 (boosted by launch night)- 2.48m
Week 2- 2.37m
Week 3- 2.43m SO FAR.
With tonight, tomorrow and Friday, it looks set to overtake W1.

The NTAs ruined every channel last night.
CBB only got 2.29m incl +1 last night :( It was however the most watched non BBC1/ITV rating of the day. Waterloo road dropped 1m to 2.4m. NTAs wrecked everything in it's way! :(

Nope, I think CBB beat Crime watch.
National Television Awards which got 6.2m and a peak of 7m. CBB11 however dropped under 2m when it faced the NTAs last year.

23-01-2014, 01:44 PM
However it was not all bad news.
1. CBB held up much better than CBB11 did last Jan against the NTA's, last year it fell to 1.8m when it faced it.
2. The other 9pm shows took a bigger hit than CBB proving how consistent CBB is. Waterloo Road dropped 1m to 2.4m and 24 Hours in A&E recorded 1.90m, one of the lowest ever ratings (and 800k down on last Weds). Literally everything dropped in prime time. The highest non NTA and soap were a bunch of news bulletins which got around 4m.
3. I also forgot it was up against the footie. We were watching that on the laptop, and it went to penalties.

Nigella tastes defeat to Celebrity Big Brother in ratings after her big comeback
CELEBRITY Big Brother continues to pull in millions of viewers – even beating the return of Nigella Lawson to the screen.
Channel 5’s reality show attracted an average of more than two million viewers on Tuesday while Nigella’s new competition The Taste averaged 1.7 million.
Last night, millions of Celebrity Big Brother fans were due to be treated to a sneaky plot twist as two housemates were going to be evicted, only to be quickly installed in a secret house next door.

Very good ratings for CBB13, I remember everyone saying that CBB11 was a freak in terms of ratings but it seems to be matching CBB11 almost every time. A reason might be the lack of 10PM highlight episodes this year, a total TV audience of roughly 23 million at 9PM reduced to 17 million at 10PM can make a huge difference.
There feels more of a buzz around big brother nowadays. Feels like so many more people are talking about it wherever I go.

I'm conflicted. I want the finale to get a really good rating to round this series off, but the more people watch, the more casual viewers there are that'll just vote for Sam and Ollie 'coz they're nice innit' or because they know them from TOWIE, and that will tarnish the end of what has been the best series of CBB ever. So idk :(
Thoroughly well deserved ratings thus far though. I hope they can keep the momentum up for the civilian run, though I have a really bad feeling that they inevitably won't be able to recreate what's happened this January and when there's not as much press attention and talk on Twitter they might see fit to just axe the main series? Worst nightmare tbh

I know the ratings are very good in comparisons to the typical ratings the shows receives since it's transition to 5 but i must admit i'm a little surprised that they are not a little higher, and by that i mean around the 3.5 to 4m mark. I had a feeling it would, same day last week it got 2.7m for highlights show against the same competition, and that didn't have a big event like Jasmine's return or the live element. Plus the video of her return was on the home page of YouTube with 300,000+ views before the episode aired so that would have created a buzz on the social networks throughout the day.

BB14 got 1.9 but there were loads of officials missing so I would actually say it was more the 2 million mark, that's up on BB12/BB13 1.6 average.
CBB13 is currently at 2.95 but I can see that rising to 3 million by the end.
I think its finally established itself now I just hope they don't chuck another CBB on this summer as its overkill and takes away the glory of a fantastic civilian series. With ratings increasingly on the rise now im hoping the civilian BB will finally hit the 2 million average.

That's great ratings, I just wish we would get these kinda rating in the civillian series, my fear is they may drop it & concentrate on CBB cause the ratings have been so high this series, which I would be gutted about cause I much prefer the civillian series.
Cant see them dropping Civillian BB it was up around 400,000 viewers last year on the previous series.
They have started putting effort into both BB and CBB and its paying off for them.

Thanks mate.
Jake.

:amazed: I'm so happy this series has done well. Surely it guarantees at least an extra year of Big Brother? They would be stupid to axe the show now with such good ratings.

Considering it's one of the only shows on channel 5 that gets anywhere near ratings like this, we've got it for a while yet. When the civilian series is regularly getting below 1m and the celeb series is pulling in the kind of ratings that a civilian series would get or below, then we need to worry :)

****ing Loarraine Kelly on Daybreak "Last night was really boring". Cheers babes, great promotion for tonights final.
The first half was brilliant but yeah I agree the 2nd half sucked, no need to tell the nation though lol.
Wonder how it faired in the ratings, im thinking about 2.5

That's amazing! Especially for a pretty bland episode bar the question to luisa from BB "Luisa do you have wet dreams about going down on Liz" I was in stitches.
Tonights final is shaping up to be one of the highest rated yet I think, Last night came 3rd in its slot and had a brilliant share.
So just to compare to CBB11 which is so far the highest rated their final highlight show got 2.57 and that's officialy so when officials come in this is gonna beat that rating by around 500,000 I think which is amazing.
Finally in regards to the finale ratings CBB 11 jumped from 2.57 for the penultimate highlights to 3.61 for the final night an increase of of over 1.1 million so when officials come out for last nights 2.82 that should be over 3 million, if it follows the same trend as CBB11 and jumps a million we are actually looking at a 4 million finale.
Why do I get so excited over ratings? lol....God will be collecting stamps soon.

Amazing ratings yet again, i'm hoping for the final to hit 3m!!
What are these ratings like in comparision to the last CBB amd BB on C4?
According to wiki CBB7 averaged to be 3.7m over 32 episodes and BB11 averaged to be 3.0m over 86 episodes.

Brilliant rating again!
Tonight I predict 3.35m. So around 3.70m officially (as finals doesn't time shift that much), but that would be higher than the launch official of 3.69m.
What's the competition tonight darlings?

This week really upped the ratings, here are the ratings averages week by week (obviously this current week is missing tonights final, so it will boost it):
Week 1- 2.48m
Week 2- 2.37m
Week 3- 2.43m
Week 4- 2.69m, probably be closer to 2.80m with the final added. Very attractive climb from Week 1 which is usually the highest rated due to the launch boosting it.

So the series average for CBB13 is 2.49million - beating CBB8's 2.47million and making it Channel 5's most watched series to date.
Didn't expect that four weeks ago

Is that including +1 to?
Im disappointed not gonna lie, thought it would be atleast 3.5 seeing as the last few highlights have done so well.
Still hope we have some good officials to make it crack the 3 million mark in officials that's what really matters now and the last week has rated fantastically well.
Do you have a break down of the night would be interesting to see..
Wonder how BOTS did.

Bots got over a million according to DS.
Slightly disappointed with the final rating, but it's still pretty good :)

There was always the worry that the 11pm finish would put pay to a launch sized figure, the show was at 9 this year rather than the usual 10pm slot, so it will have attracted viewers who wouldn't have otherwise watched it at 10 because of early work starts and who wouldn't be able to watch till 11 mid-week and would have to record it. The share was brilliant, up on last year, and the official should jump a bit.
