Favourite/least favourite soap periods

With all soaps having high and low points, what points have been the most and least enjoyable for you?

Enjoyed the return of dirty Den, and then the consequent murder of him. Chrissy was a great character!

Also enjoyed the Mad Maya period of corrie!

Eastenders first declined for me in mid 2010, although it picked up in late 2010 to mid 2011 which imo was a good period. I know I'm in the minority when I say that. but I ADORED Glenda :love: and the baby swap storyline was not so bad. Summer 2011 it went downhill again though with the Eddie Moon rubbish and from then to autumn 2013 is probably the worst state it's ever been in. It's starting to pick up recently.

People always say 2006 was a bad year but it was a damn sight better than anything 2010 onwards. Grant's return, Stacey and Max beginning their affair, Get Johnny Week, the Down's syndrome storyline, the introduction of so many good characters etc. Killing off Pauline was stupid but it was still interesting and gripping

2006 just struck me as being uneventful and unrecognisable (given the big characters involved in Den's plot had left) but I do remember done good stories... Billy and Honey's daughter having Down Syndrome was that year, no? Liked the Branning/Foxes arrival as well. And Get Johnny Week. :love:

The only things especially ridiculous were Pauline's complete character assassination and killing off Kathy for Ben. And the less said about Sonia/Naomi the better.

Surprised they were still averaging 9 million towards the end come to think of it.

Emmerdale is going through one of its worst periods at the moment imo. When Emmerdale has a big storyline they usually pull it off better than any other soap but inbetween the big storylines it's declined a lot recently.

Corrie is always pretty consistant, too many big and good moments in both soaps to pick out though.

Enders - loved the Tiffany years, so sad when they axed Martine McCutcheon. Don't like any Nick Cotton stuff, really over-rated.

Corrie - Danny Baldwin :love: Tracy Barlow and Charlie Stubbs relationship. Richard Hillman's reign of terror. Bored witless by Ken and Dreary.

Emmerdale. Kim Tate era. Don't watch it anymore.

Hollyoaks. Have loved this soap since the start. :love: But too many characters is an ongoing issue, needs a cast cull.

Hollyoaks - 2003-2005 when I first started watching it. I was young so don't remember everything but that whole ben izzy era was flawless and I loved the Hunter family and used to feel so sorry for Ellie. 2007-2008 was it's peak for me though :love:

I still remember that Week, I think Corrie at 7:30, Corrie 8:30 then again Corrie 10pm, on monday there two on Wednesday I think, Which was main one.

Best EE 1999-2002. then late 2007-early 2010

Corrie - Richard time! (I wash hooked on Corrie at that time) and Mad maya week

Neighbors- late 80, late 90-early - Bad luck rock, Jim heart attack, spider in the car, Harold death and come back, then late then Bomb in bin story time.

Then got back into late 2009-2011, with Steph , Libby and Dan, Ringo , who push Paul, Sonya turn out to be the mum

Home and away from start to- Angie time, and mudslide, twins story line, last one, Dannie run over Kane, stalker Zoey

Holly oaks- late 2012-and now

my best soap moment was a few years back when i first discovered the best soap on tv EMMERDALE . i have not looked back since. slaughters EE and corri put together.
