Its a pretty long shortlist of suspects... if it ends up being somebody else I didnt include in the poll... :joker:

My top 5 suspects atm:

1. Lee Carter

The Carters are a new family to the square. I think theyre being built up to be the new 'Mitchells' and so need something massive to happen surrounding them. We know Lee is a little unstable atm and I reckon theres a chance were gonna be fooled into liking him and feeling sorry for any accusations going his way.


2. Cindy Williams

With Lucy Beale out the picture Cindy could well fill her 'space' in the Beale family... Ian/Peter/Jane could grow to love her like they loved Lucy until the shocking revealment. If it is Cindy I would guess it is an accidental murder or perhaps acting on impulse.

3. Charlie Cotton

Is he Dot's grandson? Probably not. Seems dodgy and a pretty good call for it. He could easily try to seduce Lucy, and failing that (because she is into Lee), he lashes out and murders her. Maybe hes done it before?

4. Whitney Dean

Whitney likes Lee.
Lucy likes Lee.
Lee probably likes Lucy more than Whitney.
Lucy's been a bitch to Whitney recently.

Impulse murder? Dunno. Shes not been involved in too much lately...

5. Nick Cotton

I dont think hes dead. And if Nick Cotton isnt dead... its every chance it could be him. It could be a double-wammy revealment: Lucy's murderer and Nick's alive.

Could be Billy Mitchell.

He was really proud to have a career at Butcher's Joints estate agency. Janine may be a b*tch but she sort of liked Billy and gave him a decent post in her empire "director of operations". Not only did he lose his job, Lucy and Danny betrayed him by deciding to set up a new property venture without Billy , Danny left but when Billy divulged his contacts to Lucy she cut him out and teamed up with Lauren. Billy's been feeling worthless, wondering about providing for his kids. Lola seemed terrified of Billy learning about her shoplifting so Billy is probably getting a bit aggressive again like when he was with Jamie.

Aleks market inspector
Could be Aleks, he's enigmatic and briefly dealt with Lucy. Also remember after the market protest he roughly grabbed Ian when everyone else had left by the scruff of his neck and menancingly promised that he'd "pay" for scuppering his market closure plans. We know Aleks has a dark sinister side as he offered to help Ronnie kill the White clan

Denise
Denise not sure of motivation, but in terms of production Diane P really is strong actress who deserves a big plot and can pull it off. But if she did want shot of Lucy it could be as Lucy read the note from Poppy detailing Denises's affair with Fatboy which she could use to blackmail Denise into ditching Ian. The Oxford University trip to visit could be a red herring to distract from the fact she does meet Lucy later that day. She may have told Libby she wants to end the engagement but she may have been covering her tracks if investigated. Patrick has expressed concern about her mental well being and hinted that she is only with Ian for financial reasons, golddigging and not to be lonely, so it's not beyonde realms of craziness that she wants to kill Lucy. She doesn't love Ian, but doesn't want to be alon eking out a living in bnb and mini mart.

Then there's Peter, way way before he returned from Devon, remember the episode ages ago where Lucy and Lauren went on that girl's night out up West (travelled on tube, Lauren ditched Lucy to hook up with hot bloked, Lucy rescued her etc) Lucy told Lauren she had fallen out with Peter as he'd done something awful, maybe it's connected to the drugs and friend drowning. Peter didn't seemed shocked about the drugs when Ian asked. Peter's quite mysterious, resentful for Ian preferring Lucy despite him being the force behind the protest and there's hints he's a contol freak with Lola

My serious answer was Aleks at the time of this thread being posted but all of his family drama has thrown me off the scent and he's too irrelevant a character to be given two big storylines in a row.

I think the only way Peter, Lauren or Abi will be involved is if Lucy's death was ultimately accidental and not murder. I'm guessing that Nick or Deano was involved somehow.

I think it's someone that could potentially kill again. I don't think it's realistic to be anyone who has been on the show for a while, I'm thinking someone new or someone who hasn't been important for a while.

Shabnam is a good good shout...maybe Lee, or even Tosh. I had a dream ages ago that Tosh's gf was being questioned at a police station and thought it was a sixth sense telling me that Tosh killed Lucy and was trying to kill her gf too.
