I thought it was just the Eastern Europeans they were going after:joker:. So knock down places of worship for British citizens born and bred eh? great tactic.

We should cover the mosques in huge burqas, so us proud Englishmen don't have to see foreign muck in our country.

Are you suggesting that free speech is wrong and that only views that reflect your worldview should be tolerated?
and that your worldview is right and any that do not reflect your views are "extreme"?

I think the OP was just stating that with views like that UKIP is not the party for them.
I saw no mention at all of them not being allowed to voice their views.
While there is still a majority of decent, reasonably intelligent people in the UK they'll never get into power anyway so let them knock themselves out spouting their idiocy.

Unfortunately I think they have growing support, there seems to be a body of thought that the current parties need a kick up the ass (true) and that electing a few UKIP MPs is the way to do it. (not true).

By accusing them of low intelligence and their policies as idiotic you appear no different
in fact you assume superiority simply by name calling

I'm voicing an informed opinion, not name calling.
If people have idiotic views (in my opinion) then going by your "free speech" point it's my right to call them as i see them, or are you contradicting yourself ?

Its not surprising if you look at the combined readership of the DM, the DE and the SUN/STAR

Yes... in his party election broadcast, he was leaning on the bar of a country pub, beer pumps behind him. He's not stupid... It was on the local news here yesterday that they'd had another public meeting somewhere Anglia - missed where exactly - and there was a traffic jam and queues of people trying to get to the place. The last public meeting they had in my local town was oversubscribed by a lot, and loads of people who turned up couldn't get in. Can't imagine a public meeting for any other party being oversubscribed.
I don't think the other parties quite grasp the extent of the shellacking they're going to get on 22nd May.
All these educated and informed people calling their fellow countrymen stupid and idiotic for voting or sympathising with UKIP will play right into their hands.
Nobody likes people being condescending and haughty so by slinging mud at them your only going to entrench people further.

The problem is so many hate Labour or Conservative
as they are very much the same on many things.
Farage on those 2 TV debates was great
the public liked him even if they are not
voting UKIP
Despite these gaffs, UKIP is gaining support like a rolling snowball.
And that is absolutely terrifying in my view.

Has been shown quite conclusively that UKIP support is siphoned almost exclusively from (ex) Tories. Not really concerning.

I am not suggesting free speech is wrong and nor do I think only views that reflect my world view should be tolerated.
However, there are limits to free speech, and I don't believe free speech should be used as an excuse to be racist, homophobic and discriminate against fellow human beings in any manner. I strongly feel that any civilised, democratic society has to observe limits to free speech to protect rights and civil liberties of others.
This is not about my world view being right - it is in fact about morals and the fact that any reasonable person would come to the conclusion that the UKIP candidate in question was plain racist.
