Albert Square’s gobby redhead Bianca Butcher is *transformed into a *1940s screen goddess ready for the glamorous new life ahead of her in Hollywood.

EastEnders actress Patsy Palmer did this photo-shoot after revealing plans to try her luck on the big screen.

In the pictures Patsy does a good impression of another flame-haired legend, Gilda and Pal Joey star Rita Hayworth.

The 42-year-old mum-of-four is to be *written out this autumn, for the fifth time since she began playing Bianca in 1993.

A friend said: “Patsy can’t wait to get to America and have a new start.

"She and the kids are looking forward to the *sunshine lifestyle.”

Patsy and husband Richard will no doubt be spending time at the beach, where she can show off her toned bod – but presumably NOT in the retro swimwear seen here.

It's a male dominated industry and unless an actress is established when they are young then they have little chance of making it if they try past 40 since there's less substantial good roles for older women and they'll always go to someone established rather than a fresh face.

Sadly the same doesn't apply to men, there's a lot more freedom when it comes to roles for older men.
