View Full Version : Ash Boring?
I like Ash and don't think of him as boring but...
Lots of people from the start have labelled him as one of the 'bores' yet he does something that dominates the highlights and they want him evicted?
I don't get it, so if your boring in there you are hated for it and if you are involved on one of the main rows of the show so far people campaign to get you evicted..
Opinions?

I don't think being on the receiving end of hurricane Toya really counts as "doing something"
Only Toya made him relevant without Toya he would be boring

He stood up to her first though if he hadn't then the first row wouldn't have happened.

Well I could say the same thing about Toya, Pauline, Helen etc...they do things that dominate the highlights and people want them evicted?
Anyway first of all he was a bore up until Toya gave him a role (which I'm glad about btw) but secondly this is precisely the problem with vote to evict - you have to campaign to evict emerging characters or people that are developing a storyline in order to save your favourites, it's so counterproductive. Toya fans have to target him because he's one of the most likely to go after her when in reality it'd be for the best of everyone if someone like Winston (who is just there and offers nothing to the show at all) left. Vote to evict just means that anyone who opens their mouth and dares to contribute something to the show is targeted and is at risk of being evicted while anyone that fades into the background remains safe. It makes no sense whatsoever
I would rather he didn't leave because I'd like to see the feud with Toya develop, but it's not like we have much choice with such a detrimental system is it?

Josy... you constantly hate on Pauline, Toya, Helen etc and then whenever anyone says this to you you just say "everyone has different views of entertainment".
Toya is the most 'active' in the house (if you wanna put it that way) so going by your logic she should be the favourite to win. I agree with you but you need to practice what you preach.
I don't have a problem with vote to evict.
I do have a problem with certain housemates being labelled boring then if they aren't boring being evicted
So you are saying he's not boring now?
No, I'm saying Toya made him relevant but he is a bore

That's basically Vote To Evict though, if you even do something slightly out of the ordinary you get a ton of votes to evict, whereas if it was VTS you'd get votes for exactly that reason.

My question was why are some hated for being 'boring' then evicted for being 'not boring'..

Yes Ash is boring. I swear to God I would be banging my head on the table after one hour in his company.
You said "I don't get it" implying that the people who disagree with you are wrong.
And I'm just stating it how it is. Ash is boring in most people eyes and has only become a slight bit interesting because of Toya.
What on earth? how do you even come to that conclusion from 'I don't get it?'
I said I don't get it because I don't...wasn't implying anything about people that disagreed.

Ash is a boring **** and being one of the (many) victims of #HurricaneToya doesn't change that. The night was all about Toya. Her veto decisions lit a match and she's just burning that house down to the ground on her way out. I know this is a forum that values ~talking points~ more than anything and by now you guys all know how much I disagree with that, but what talking points does Ash even provide? He called Toya a prick, she flipped out and screeched about how she revealed everyone's true colors as she intended to, she moved HERSELF to near tears with her impassioned DR speech about the responsibility of being the power housemate, she went mad with power. Just because Ash was on the receiving end on her most volatile night doesn't automatically make him entertaining or valuable. Not at all. And if you think he's necessary to keep around for Toya to have someone to lash out at... so far she's lashed out at Jale, Christopher, Matthew, Marlon, Winston, and Ash, and she's been smearing Kimberly's name left and right and probably would've lashed out at her last night if she wasn't so distracted by those three idiot boys last night. Ash could pretty much be a mannequin doll at Toya would still lash out at him, it doesn't take much to piss her off. He's useless.

We're talking about these "big characters" getting evicted after "doing something" are we not? Not a reason for every eviction the show's ever had. If we're talking about that, then each and every one has to be evicted at some point. Tamara wasn't a "big character".

But again, not all drama is equal and all players in an argument are certainly not equal. Ash couldn't differentiate between Matthew and Toya vetoing his nomination and Matthew and Toya directly nominating him. That's not entertaining at all, and when he gets self-righteous about his false conclusions and states that they should've gone after the boring ***** (I'd say most people here and other forums have different ideas about who the boring ***** are in there) it's more infuriating than anything? Like sure he argued with Toya but the content of his contribution was rather forgettable. Meanwhile Toya pretty much lit the house on fire in her power trip, gave an insanely passionate and hilarious rant in the DR, and was amazingly belligerent. It was her night, nobody's gonna look back on this and think of Ash's contributions.

Ash is vain about everything else. He went into the house with his 'good looks' and was so sure he would snare the fittest girl (Kim) When he found out she nominated him his ego got a real bruising and he went for her all guns blazing saying she was the slyest housemate and probably the power housemate. He switched tack and said Helen was the fittest of the women (really ?) He nearly had a fit last week when he was up for eviction ( How COULD anyone have nominated him) This week he in his stupidity thought that Toya and Matt had SAVED kim. He is a grade one idiot and I am sick of him. I want him out but Marlon and Toya must go first. I just hope that young girls who vote to evict will see what he is REALLY like not just his looks

This also^ very good post.I voted Ash because if it's a choice between him and Toya,I'd keep Toya all day.VTS would defo solve this and would almost make certain someone who's really done nothing would go.

He was a bore and still is a bore. The only difference is that we now know he's an arrogant bore. Someone saying a few words doesn't make them interesting or relevant - it's what they say, and all he says is that everyone else is a bore and that he's above having anything 'bad' happening against him. That's not entertaining.

Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people.
The number of human beings in category 3 is far greater than the number of human beings in category 2 and the number of human beings in category 2 is far greater than the number of human beings in category 1.
Is Ash boring? The answer to the question depends on the person you are asking. If you ask a person in category 1, there is high probability the majority will answer yes. If you ask a person in category 3 there is a high probability the majority will answer no.
If you are asking and answering the question yourself, the category you fall in might influence your answer. If you look at the question from the perspective of the human population as a whole, the logical answer would be no Ash is not boring.

Question - do Ash fans also like Kris Donnelly? They're pretty much the same character at this point.

He was a bore and still is a bore. The only difference is that we now know he's an arrogant bore. Someone saying a few words doesn't make them interesting or relevant - it's what they say, and all he says is that everyone else is a bore and that he's above having anything 'bad' happening against him. That's not entertaining.
His delusional which is what I'm starting to find entertaining.
