View Full Version : For those who are now warming to Helen...
You say how upfront and hilarious she is.
Have you forgotten how she treated Jale? She called her 'slugsworth' she pulled faces behind her back, she sat with her cronies and slagged her off and laughed while Jale sat there on her own within earshot. She picked on her for trivial things like the lipsalve incident to look the big girl in front of her mates. She plotted with Kim to go in to Jale and lie to her and deceive her.
All very cruel and underhand behavior. Not in the slightest 'upfront' or hilarious either. This is a part of Helen's character that we seen with our own eyes.
She stopped when she got 2 warnings and realized how popular Jale was on the outside. She is keeping her vile side under wraps and people are warming to her?

I still very much dislike Helen and no I haven't forgotten how vile she was in the first few weeks but at the moment I dislike Ashleigh more cos even though she hasn't been as vile as Helen I cant STAND her bitching and her looking so miserable all the time and then the bloody tears. And I hate to mention it again but that stupid teddy bear is ridiculous. I loved Ashleigh at first and now I find her dreadful. I hated Helen from he start and now still strongly dislike her. I will never find her fun or kind or anything I look for in my favourite housemate

People love Helen because they can't get her out, hence why they hate Ashleigh.
They need someone to hate who they can actually get out of the house, and therefore it seems a lot of people have decided that Ashleigh is the new villain. Well actually, it seems there is a struggle between Danielle and Ashleigh for the villain spot and people are testing the waters to see who they would enjoy hating more.
Add the facts that Ashleigh is very pretty, young and intelligent. Those 3 qualities don't go down well on this forum.

She is young and she is pretty but not when she has her bitching face on and in the video clip of the stripping guys shared my another poster she looked awful as her face was contorted. I thought on launch nights that Kim and Ashleigh were the prettiest of the girls. The one thing I disagree with you about is the intelligent part because if she was intelligent she would mingle with the other housemates and tell Helen straight how she feels instead of isolating herself with Danielle all the time. Hell, she doesn't even have to mingle with Helen and some of her group. There are a good few floaters in the house she could get friendly with. She doesn't want to be seen to be friendly with any of the guys cos SHE HAS a boyfriend. I just wish she would lighten up or walk (seeing that she said tonight she doesn't want to be there anymore) Just my opinion :smug:

Yes, it's very tiring. But she must be getting awful edits if Chris thinks so highly of her. He'd hardly think someone is amazing that spends their time in the pod or in bed moaning. We haven't even seen them talking to each other ffs.
Where have all the people gone who are warming to Helen?:unsure:

I think it speaks very highly of everyone who is giving Helen a second chance. Sure she was mean and harsh for the first ten days but she is not like that anymore. And if Jale doesn't hold a grudge against, it's kinda ridiculous for people to be offended and still upset on Jale's behalf. As Josy said, build a bridge and get over it.
Also learning to forgive and move on is a wonderful trait for people to have. This being stuck in the past and harping on about how much of an evil person she is, or how she is a slut or a vile human being, well I believe that says more about the person harboring those strong emotions than it does about Helen.
Lastly isn't it funny how when Helen was portrayed as a baddie, it was all her doing and she was getting a fair edit, but as soon as the opposition in the house to Helen are shown to be no more that spiteful bitchy people, it's suddenly because they are getting a bad edit.

I think people are questioning the edit because of how much Chris praises Ashleigh. Had Chris been saying that Helen was amazing/wonderful etc.. then I'm sure Helen's edit would be questioned too.
A number of threads have been made praising Chris' astute observations of the housemates. It seems his observations about Ashleigh should be ignored now?

I still dislike her alot and haven't forgotten what a nasty piece of work she is. I find it amusing though how she's afraid to be a snidey bitch towards little Ashleigh, who she would have an actual reason to dislike, says alot about her that she likes to target the "weaker" ones who won't defend themselves as much

she is VILE ! but i like that :joker:
i honestly dont know what the fuss has been about her, if she was from the earlier BB's nobody would bat an eyelid!
the audience of this show is now remarkably sensitive, i blame social media and everyone out with their pitchforks!
i thought it was hilarious last night when she was being vile about danielle, then realized she had gone too far again ''oh *******'' :joker:

But then she would be hated even more ( if she can be) if she argues with Ashleigh. There is a difference in arguing with an adult but many will see Ashleigh has still a child compared to the others in the house.

Nothing to do with the final warning then?....nothing to do with the Friday night chants?....nothing to do with everyone she is close to getting chants?...
I think they are three good reasons to make an effort to be nicer...like the whole turnaround on Jale who gets saved and cheered each week :shrug:
She is so full of ****.
Remember when Jale first came in and Helen had the whole house turned against her because she said she rolled her eyes at Pauline.
Then last week sucking up jale's ass by telling her she idn't like her at the start because of what other housemates were saying about her.
Jale the fool would let her kick her minge in if it led to her being accepted byu the cool kids..
Helen is as see through and contradictory and false that it makes me want to puke on her minge.
Tarryn
30-06-2014, 12:24 PM
Put Pauline or Tamara back in & we would see the vile, nasty bitch back in 20 seconds.
She is playing the game. Getting close to Jale coz of the cheers.
Did you see Helens face when BB said all the girls were safe from eviction this week ?. It totally dropped.
She would love every girl in there right now to be evicted.
She is under pressure from Ash to save him, he really meant what he said to her last night. It was kinda creepy.
flamingGalah!

I'm not warming to her at all, I think BB are deliberately editing it so she comes across as more humourous & cutting, rather than nasty, vile & aggressive as they want their chosen one for the entire run... She will slip up again soon though, especially once she has been given some alcohol...

Well you're presuming that Chris is praising her on stuff we're not seeing, there are astute people here who thoroughly enjoy Ashleigh & Dani bad mouthing some of the other housemates when they're not about. So it is possible that Chris is praising her on the aspects we're being shown.
But yes, we miss a lot. I know the editors have no choice but to omit large amounts of happenings in the house in order to maintain continuity of storylines and for time reasons, but to suggest that Ashleigh is a carefree happy soul the rest of the day apart from the few bits she is seen as depressed and bitching about other people. Now I grant you if someone filmed my day and only my unhappy moments were shown, I could be falsely portrayed, but I don't talk about other people. So I couldn't be presented in a way that it's not some part of me, although I do kinda moan and bitch about Ashleigh & Dani here, so maybe I'm not as different from Ashleigh as I would like
Anyway it could even be possible that Chris figured that the footage would be eventually be shown to Ashleigh and seeing that she is clearly sad, he might have praised her so that she would see the goodness in herself and snap out of the mood she has been in of late.
I used to like Ashleigh and I hope I do again, but for that to happen, she has to change. And that's dealing with the reality of what we see on the HL show, not letting the hope of off camera imaginings cloud my judgement.
Also regarding Helen being praised, she has been from the first week till now, she's also been deservedly criticized by other housemates. But that's Helen. Just as what we're seeing now is Ashleigh, and I don't find her behavior fun.

By her own admission Helen has always been the same so I fail to see how the last week in the BB house could bring about such a miraculous turnaround. If you really believe she has changed, then that’s fair enough, but I don’t. A few days of mocking people with a snidey face instead of being all – out nasty doesn’t say change to me at all. It won’t be long before she’s at it again when the warnings aren’t so fresh in her mind.
How is Helen going to grow and learn if she can behave how she likes and it all should be forgiven and forgotten so easily? Her friends and family probably do this all the time. She says herself “I know that I’m like” as if this is an excuse for her behaviour. She gets away with it. She is nice to people she likes and nasty to those she doesn’t.
She has a nasty, mean streak in her and I can’t warm to people like that. I can understand people liking her for the 'entertainment value' but it’s hard for me to believe some people genuinely like her. But they do, so that’s that.

And yep I agree, I don't think Helen has miraculously changed, I believe she entered the house and she was like fighter in attack mode. But I do think she's reined in that part of herself. Perhaps it was the warning that was the wake up call, or it was the boos, or maybe even the group dynamics are different so she no longer has to battle to be alpha female.
Also I totally get it why a lot of people are against her, and will be no matter what she does in the house.
But if you look at the housemates, Mark, Winston, Marlon & Ash think the world of her. And I'm hesitant to bring Pauline into this, but she gave Helen a pass based on just a conversation or two. For that to happen, she muct be pretty likeable in real life.
Anyway for me liking Helen isn't difficult. She's a real person, flawed, at times fierce and she's having fun.

I wouldn’t be against her no matter what she does. I try to post something positive when the opportunity arises about HM’s I dislike (like I did with Jimbo in CBB). The ratio would be like 80% negative 20% positive. Not a lot, but I try.
I think I’ll struggle with Helen though because of her mean, nasty streak and snidey facial expressions. It's going to be challenging. :hehe:
