I feel Steven means well and genuinely cares for Kim but it was obvious that he had upset her in the days before she fell ill.
Kim crying in the bathroom was the first strong emotional reaction we'd seen from her. One of the HM's mentioned a stomach ulcer and those can often be stress induced.
I hope she doesn't blame Steven for what happened and I hope she remains loyal to him while he's inside the house but I feel this theory fits with the course of events.
