View Full Version : Can we stop...

...the whole Ashleigh vs Helen thing? At risk of ironically starting it up again it's seriously so tiresome entering every thread to see it become the same 'well Helen's done this' and 'Ashleigh did that' in endless arguments that are just so draining.
Helen and Ashleigh have both been amazing housemates this series and are without a doubt the two biggest characters and the most deserving winners, but neither of them are going to win. So ultimately the attempts to prove that one persons support is dwindling while the others is increasing is pointless because neither Helen or Ashleigh will win and they were never going to. This is Christopher's to lose and has been ever since Winston left. The public don't like the biggest characters that have brought the most to the show, they like the inoffensive nice guys...and that's Christopher.
It pains me to say it because despite what other people think I've actually enjoyed this series - but it's making me look forward to the end so that it will stop. It's just so unnecessary. Both of them have been great housemates, both of them have helped each other contribute to the storyline and both of them have no chance of winning. So please can we just stop it

I'm tired of all threads being derailed into the same old drivel debates and I support both too which is what makes it tiring to read.
I agree so much, I don't mind Helen but this forum has made me turn against her
But it won't stop since BB are trying to make it happen

It's funny because if the anti Ashleigh brigade had got behind someone like Chris or Christopher they would have had more chance of not letting her win http://i.imgur.com/PvmK457.png

Yeah I agree that the producers have played a part in pitting them against each other too and things like the Court Room task or discussions on BOTS about who caused the divide as if it's a negative thing are so irritating

I've accepted she's going to win regardless and has been for weeks. Doesn't mean I can't think Helen is the best in there.

People will support who they like, and defend them.. that's how it works as the house gets smaller. Do you mean comments like 'anti ashleigh brigade'? and silly little pictures? :hehe:

I mean all of it. From the 'Helen's nasty Facebook messages discovered!!!!!!!' to 'Ashleigh was appaz a bully at school omg!!!!111' to 'Helen was a dirty *****!!!' to 'omg look at Ashleigh bitching as if nobody else ever has!!!!!!!!!!' to 'Ashleigh's Facebook support is decreasing!!' (seriously who cares what the cad ladies think they know nothing) to 'Helen's odds are shortening!!!'. Just this endless stream of 'Helen did this, Ashleigh said that blah blah blah'. Both of them have been the best housemates this year but neither of them are going to win. So the desperate attempts from both sides to try and criticise or derail the campaigns are pointless, even more so since they're both great housemates and have both helped each other out in that respect.
Much appreciated thread but it won't work.
I don't know why people get so riled up about a tv show

This is a big brother forum, it's the nature of the beast. Just don't go on those threads if they annoy you.

Every thread is one of them though, that's the problem. No matter what the discussion being had in the Big Brother section, someone will find a way to turn it into Ashleigh vs Helen and then off we go again. Every. Single. Thread.
That's what my point is, it's unnecessary and tiresome.

And have you noticed that a lot of those threads are from junior members with less than 50 posts. BB staff creating accounts to stir things up to get the maximum kerching £££ on friday. It's pathetic.

The problem is people are seeing arguments when they're not there and over reacting.
A post simply saying "Helen was being a little aggressive today" would be met with "WHY DO YOU HATE HELEN SO MUCH SHE'S AMAZING. HELEN TO WIN. ASHLEIGH IS A BITCH!1111!!!" and likewise with Ashleigh.
Just saying, people can be a little delusional on this forum in their blind support of certain housemates.

I agree because the Helen vs Ashleigh thing is just BB twisting the story line and I don't think it's as big a thing as they make out. There is conflict and a clash there, but who cares? I hate Helen for reasons completely unrelated to Ashleigh and I like Ashleigh for reasons completely unrelated to Helen. It's a bit annoying that they're both always chucked together in every scenario.
Both 'sides' keep posting baiting threads though and it's no wonder that it keeps coming up. Someone will post like 'oh look Helen is being a [something that Helen fans call Ashleigh]' and vice versa. I also dislike the blind adoration for every housemate where they can do no wrong.

i think its because they are the last two women in the house and people like pitting women against each other-not that BB is helping as they are encouraging it and there is tension there but i dont think its as bad as BB and the forum makes it out to be.

Its actually awful but then it always happens in final week with the most prominent housemates, people pull out all the stops to try make other housemates look bad.

I agree with this post both women have contributed to this series, in fact I think the women in general this series have been better than the men. Not necessarily nicer just more active as housemates. However as per usual they were judged more harshly than the men. So fair play to both Helen & Ashleigh for staying the course, particularly Ashleigh who has done it with out the pass.
Wouldnt mind Christopher winning as of all the male housemates he is the one who has probably got the most out of the experience.

An amnesty was actually called in the highlight thread last night and it went pretty well to be honest nobody wanted the unnecessary bitching that had ruined the thread recently.
It went better than i thought it would really but a few tried to spoil it and it was interesting but not suprising who/which side it was who didnt respect it and nearly spoiled it.

Yes,bobnot,it was very telling who was throwing out the insults in that.
Shudder - another thread going to turn to fingerpointing and some weird kind of point scoring, ah well must be off.
