The first Strictly Come Dancing 2014 live show is here and so are the first dances and songs!

They’ll face the critical panel of judges – Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and Darcey Bussell – who will mark each performance out of ten.

But they can breathe a slight sigh of relief as there will be no elimination this week, however the marks from the judges will carry over to next weekend where one celeb WILL be eliminated.

What time does Strictly Come Dancing 2014 start tonight? The first live show kicks off this evening, and here’s all you need to know!

Strictly waltzed its way back onto our screens earlier this month and it seems like we’ve been waiting forever for the live shows.

What time is Strictly Come Dancing on tonight?

The Strictly Come Dancing 2014 live shows start this evening on BBC One, airing from 9PM on September 26.

The usual two-part opener will continue tomorrow night on Saturday, with the bumper line up of fifteen celebs being split over the two nights.

Who’s on Strictly Come Dancing tonight?

Alison Hammond, Caroline Flack, Frankie Bridge, Greg Wallace, Jake Wood, Jennifer Gibney, Judy Murray, Mark Wright, Pixie Lott, Scott Mills, Simon Webbe, Steve Backshall, Sunetra Sarker, Tim Wonnacott and Thom Evans will all be performing live for the first time after just three weeks of training.

It’s not been officially announced yet who is performing when, but some stars have seemingly revealed they’ll be on tonight (Friday), including Judy Murray, Scott Mills and Pixie Lott.

Will there be an elimination?

Although all of the celebs over the weekend will be watched over by judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and Darcey Bussell, the celebs can relax slightly.

While will be giving their opinions, there will be no public vote or elimination this week – although the judges’ scores will be carried over to next week.

I also struggle to understand what makes him a celebrity .

Here we go... did he really need to say this

Strictly Come Dancing 2014 contestant Gregg Wallace has admitted he didn’t really want Aliona Vilani as his pro partner.

Which we’re sure won’t make things at all awkward between the pair ahead of their first dance tonight.

Although to be fair, we’re not convinced Aliona was over the moon with the pairing either.

Gregg said: “[Aliona] wouldn’t have been my first choice, as I probably would have preferred Karen Hauer, the happy smiley Venezuelan”.

But he added: “Aliona is very stern but that is perfect. I am not here to win her affection but win her respect. She will not let anything slide.”

This evening will see Gregg and Aliona perform a cha cha cha for their first dance, live on BBC One.

And the Masterchef judge is preparing himself for being on the receiving end of some cutting criticism.

“I dish it out regularly and have got to take it on the chin,” he told The Sun newspaper today. “I’ve no idea how it feels, but what I do know is that when we dance we are entering their world.

“This is the hardest thing I’ve done, closely followed by bringing up my children on my own, but I’m going to give it a try.

“I will throw myself into it.”

Strictly Come Dancing is being tipped to triumph in the ratings war against The X Factor this evening.

It’s another face off between the two programmes with Strictly’s first live show facing off against the first episode of X Factor’s bootcamp.

And the BBC is expected to come out on top in the war of the ratings on Friday night according to the latest odds from Ladbrokes.

As the the celebrities get ready to hit the Strictly dancefloor for the first time the bookies reckon Pixie Lott and co. will trump Simon Cowell and his new Friday night X Factor slot as the odds-on 4/6 favourites to pull in the most peak viewers, leaving the ITV show as the 11/10 outsider.

Pixie and Thom currently share favouritism to be crowned as this year’s Strictly champion at odds of 7/2, followed closely by Frankie (4/1) and Simon (6/1). Unfortunately for Gregg it looks like he won’t be the master of the ballroom as the early 2/1 jolly to leave the show first.

Paul Akister (9/2) leads the X Factor betting with Jay James (5/1) and Lola Saunders (5/1) occupying second spot.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “It looks like two’s company, three’s a crowd and the extra night of X Factor on Friday is going to struggle to steal the ratings crown away from Strictly’s series opener.”

Pixie looked the best of the Celebs, of course Ola in that nice black dress and gothic look kinda turned me on lol, I normally don't like women wearing dark make-up either but Ola suited it for some reason.
