..for me Jess, it wouldn't really matter if there were perma-bans or not, because I think this has showed that involvement doesn't have to be active members...people will access these things regardless because they're quite determined in their 'hate' and in making people feel miserable...it's not a decision for me to make but I personally would be reluctant now to reveal anything of any personal nature whatsoever because anything positive is stripped from you by some people and used as a stick to beat you with....

I mean some of them have barely been here a month or two and still got sucked into that kind of mentality, so I don't feel anything for them, they're empty and stupid people.
But the members who've been here a while and I've been nothing but pleasant to... and they seem to be perfectly nice to everyone on here, so they were probably just in it for the 'lols'.... (reece, germyle, pete, armand, hayden)... it's just a shame.


..yeas, the judgement of people who you don't know/know nothing whatsoever about them or their lives is something I have no time for..and to me, I can understand..(even if I don't agree with..).. if people feel they have a reason to 'hate', even if that's a very misplaced reason and an inability to accept any responsibility themselves so they have to 'blame and deflect'..?...but the LOLs thing which I suspect that for some it was, is difficult to understand in any way whatsoever...to try to make people feel bad about themselves or even worse than they do already because most of us are our own worst critics anyway...to me is probably the worst possible thing..I struggle to have any empathy with this at all...

well there's one (Jordan) that's been a total **** since 2009/10 so I'm not surprised by him... and obviously Salman's involved...

I mean, I don't want to toot my own horn but I've been pretty obviously opposed to some of them since the Stacey days :laugh: this sort of thing was happening back then, with the jokes about Twilight's weight, Cara's taste in music, other members for god knows what reason... but they weren't just jokes, they were things being orchestrated offsite (the pictures being the most obvious example), various threats and "ugh kill yourself" messages via that formspring site made to members... I have to say, in this instance, I did think it was actually HD because he's done it (a twitter account) before as well, but I won't apologise for thinking that because he's a tool and a coward and hasn't actually ever spoken to me or been given any reason whatsoever to harrass me/Nicky/Laura so **** him and **** his ****ty personality

It's just the scale of this that's surprising, and like Braden said, the pack mentality with members who're, well, nobodies really... nobody's gotten the chance to know them, and they've not taken the chance to get to know anyone outside of their circle... I've been aware of it at times as a sort-of on/off victim over the years, because it's all offsite and the glimpses of it on here are obviously quickly hushed up and dealt with... but these are really hateful, angry, judgmental, nasty little people and I pity them, and I can only understate how thrilled I am that it's being realised.

..I've really struggled with this as you know and feeling that people involved in this are really quite sad and unhappy in their own lives and maybe some empathy should be shown...but what I can't ignore is how many people who have been hurt through this and not only by hateful words, which really can't hurt us unless we allow them to ...and also with Josy and I and anyone else whose personal pics and info was taken and used in such hateful ways...how that could actually impact on our 'real lives'...and how would any of them feel if the same was done to them...?...and these are people who when SD threads are made about internet trolls and hate trolls etc...who post their distaste of such things...I spend far too much time over-thinking stuff and trying to make sense of it but sometimes I think it's just the acceptance that their are people of just really bad character and there is no 'reasons'....




I still like some of them as people because in fairness I've made some stupid mistakes on here and they looked past them so I owe them the same.

Manopoly and Le Freak though...they're brand new to the forum and it's sad that they've felt the need to try and hurt people they've barely had any contact with.

..why would we even want to hurt people that we have had contact with because of their posts on a forum..where is the value in that..and tbh my personal opinion is that they never did look past your mistakes but used your experiences as 'another layer' of negativity to wrap around their rolling stone of anyone who would possibly feel any 'grudges' on TiBB...the 'gathering together of negativity' on mass is probably one of the most destructive things ever...and also to make that person think that in some way, they care for them or have any feelings at all for their situation..?....I believe that this is part of the same people responsible for the Tumblr blog thing..and they were quite happy to allow Scott to take all the blame for that..well, in a way, I guess they're not friends particularly of Scott so why not, they're cowards anyway...but because he was banned they also allowed people to think this was all Salman...their 'friend'..?...who would do something like that....

Well for them they probably had no connection to the people effected and thought it would be a laugh with their new buddies. They're twats, but they aren't as bad as the long time members imo.

I literally would not be surprised if in the end, when some of the weaves come back, that they'd kinda be like excluded by everyone. Everyone's perception of them has changed and will probably never be the same again, so people will probably like shun them, if you will. I think that is the word I'm looking for.

Yes there are definitely a couple of them that were actually decent members that just got sucked into a nasty group and just joined in to try and fit in with them which is a shame but maybe they will learn from it.
But im under no illusion most of them are just malicious and not nice people.

If somebody had handed me that list a week a go and told me they were all getting lengthy bans I would have said no chance the rest of the forum are gonna let that happen without seriously kicking off.

..I think that you're probably right, Vanessa..I think some have been 'sucked in' and maybe because of an attention from a group which might have made them feel good or maybe because they themselves feared being targeted if they said anything or showed any reluctance..?....some of it might have just been for the LOLs and the DRAMZ...and they might be 'good people' as well but they have done something or been part of something just in the 'knowing of it' that is terribly wrong and that has to have a serious consequence for them.... that consequence won't impact on their lives other to be excluded from an internet forum which they seem to enjoy being part of because they spend time here..so with people they enjoy talking to/like I presume..?..but those are the people they have been targeting/bullying/harassing..?.. those people they post with and spend time talking to..?...this is something that I've really struggled with as well because of how unhappy they might be or may have sad lives..?...but they know nothing about the lives of the people who they have been so vicious with in their attacks and the things they have said whose lives may be equally as unhappy...and it's because they don't care/or have no thought for them..?..and what impact on their 'victims'...?...to me these are the very same people we all discuss in SD threads when we talk about how nasty internet trolls are and sometimes the extreme effect/impact on the people they troll and some very vulnerable.. and we condemn them and that doesn't change for me because I know someone/have posted/chatted with them etc...I can't be selective about that...
