I've slowly been trudging through BB12 and just got through Maisy's eviction, but more importantly just reached the arrival of this beauty:

-Jem said in her audition tape that Faye only wins when she cheats :joker:
-the Palmer rivalry is already starting because Jem wanted to enter in the sexy dress that Faye wore :o and it takes Jem like five minutes before she becomes the smoking police and tells Faye how silly she looks when she smokes, and that she's aging herself and contaminating her lungs :joker: such a relentless health safety advisor <3
-uh oh! Aaron snuck Faye a cigarette in the toilet and BB announces LOUDLY and ANGRILY that she can't smoke there, and of course Jem pops up all ":o :o :o HAS AARON MADE HER DO THAT???" :joker: Jem already having Aaron's number on her first night <3 such good foresight
-Jem also reminds Faye again that she looks stupid when she smokes and does an impression of her smoking face #toughlove
-Jem reveals in her DR that she was brought up POOR and was thus quiet and bullied, so Faye was spoiled rotten and everyone's still trying to bring her back down to earth smh
-also according to Jem, Faye always wants to have more friends than her and wants all of her championship wrestling belts but Jem is super competitive and doesn't take any of Faye's ****. Show em who's boss Jem!

-Faye and Jem are bickering again because it's the task where they get prizes by throwing the ball at the wall and Faye wants the gym seesion because she hasn't worked out in five weeks but Jem still insists that it's more important for herself <3 and of course Jem won it
-lmfaooooooooo and then Jem gets to choose a gym partner and she chooses... Jay :joker: :joker: :joker: Faye is LIVID and Jem's all ":shrug: you can't lift heaving weights, I can't train you with pressups outside, and besdies Faye's been stuffing her face with chocolate so how bothered can she be? :) she still looks sexy w/o her muscle and weight anyway :)" :joker: I'm ****ing doneeeeeeeee

-And then Faye was also upset because she won "Nominations" and Jem makes it even better by telling her WELL IF YOU ARE NOMINATED THIS WEEK YOU CAN GO TO A GYM IF YOU'RE EVICTED :) :) :) AND NOW YOU CAN GO LIFT TINS OF BEANS OR SUMFIN :) :) :) I'm ****ing loving the Jem Palmer Experience
-lmfao it gets even better somehow. They have the gym session and Jem is like LOL FAYE AT LEAST YOU CAN WATCH ME AND GET MOTIVATED TO GET BACK IN SHAPE, HUH? :) :) :) and ****ing Faye is of course LIVID and asks why the **** she would ever watch her, and Jem logically responds WELL YOU ALWAYS WATCH ME TO LEARN WHAT TO DO LOL and they yell at each other and then immediately hug <3 only for Jem to ruin the feel-good moment by going LOL ARE YOU COMING TO SHOUT MOTIVATION AT ME :) :joker: unfortunately Faye passes up on that offer but BB treats us to a solid consolation prize of a montage of Jay and Jem working out to Salt-N-Pepa's Push It
-the only other real Jem moment after this workout fiasco is that Faye's FURIOUS that Harry nominated her because she left him a nice message in her goodbye and Jem just goes "K WELL DO YOU TRUST AARON? :) JUST WONDERING" she rly is doing the Lord's work by stirring **** up for no reason about Aaron

-unfortunately Jem needed a breather after her whirlwind first few days. This episode was ****ty as hell because it was boring nominations with Anton and Aaron and Aden all being awful so it's for the better that Jem was invisible :)

-it's pretty clear that Jem's jealous of all the attention that Faye gets. It first came up when Jem talked about how Faye was brought up spoiled and this and that and she's still being brought down to earth, but in their fight today Jem starts mocking Faye like "TODAY'S THE DAY I BROKE UP WITH SOMEONE; TODAY'S THE DAY I HAVE A HEADACHE; TODAY'S THE DAY I'M GOING TO AN INTERVIEW; WHEN IS MY DAY?!?!?!?!" as she's furiously combing her hair in front of the DR door telling Faye to not speak to her because she always has to be subservient to her :joker: it's kinda sad and intriguing but wayyyyyy too funny for me to rly be sad about it, I just want to know more about the Palmers

-k there's a rly gross scene of Aaron pulling his usual emotional bull**** about how Faye ruined their relationship because it's childish to throw frosted flakes around (despite Aaron throwing porridge, doll parts, decks of cards, and teddy bear parts around at different points of the series) and thankfully Faye puts him in his place, but meanwhile Tom and Jem agree that Aaron is poison and Faye needs to run <3
-to add to the intrigue of the Palmers, there are a lot of allusions to *TRAGEDY* in Faye and Jem's lives and how Faye got through a lot of **** and didn't use it as a crutch so again I'm rly curious

I'm so glad I decided to rewatch BB12 because any indifference I had towards Aaron is officially gone, I really can't stand him :laugh:

When Jay and Anton put food colouring in Harry and Aaron's clothes, and Aaron decided not to talk to any of the boys all day until he got an apology. Such a 5-year old thing to do lmao.

You know a series is bad when two sides of the house (Aaron/Harry vs Jay/Anton/Aden) are fighting over bananas and food colouring and you still have no one to root for in the argument.

Were they even together though? Aaron and Faye had their date and after that point she pretty much put all her eggs in his basket until he got in Maisy's bed one night and snogged her.

I think the biggest aspect of Kissgate that revealed Aaron's true colors was how he treated Tom throughout all of it. When it was on Aaron's own terms, he was perfectly okay with making out with him and giving him hickeys and having a sexually-charged friendship with him, but as soon as Tom's feelings were hurt Aaron dropped him and treated him like garbage except when he needed him to nominate certain people. He put in a **** ton of work to mend things with Faye and Maisy (albeit in a spineless and cowardly way) because they could have eventually been useful for his sexual appetite, but didn't even talk to Tom for some time even though Tom got over it after a few days and wanted to be friends with him again.

I'm so glad I decided to rewatch BB12 because any indifference I had towards Aaron is officially gone, I really can't stand him :laugh:

When Jay and Anton put food colouring in Harry and Aaron's clothes, and Aaron decided not to talk to any of the boys all day until he got an apology. Such a 5-year old thing to do lmao.

You know a series is bad when two sides of the house (Aaron/Harry vs Jay/Anton/Aden) are fighting over bananas and food colouring and you still have no one to root for in the argument.

Like, Aaron and Harry are perfectly content with ordering food coloring to piss off the Wolfpack (and effectively punish townspeople like Alex and Tom who don't even have a role in this petty ass feud) but then as soon as they use the food coloring to **** with Aaron and Harry's clothes it's this giant wounded production about how offended they are. The same thing happens when Aaron decides to apply his fickle moral outrage on the house after the frosted flake fight. Like, you effectively created a situation where food is seen as disposable so what the **** do you expect?

Someone on another forum pointed out that if you remove Anton from the whole situation then the Wolfpack would more than likely be the protagonists and I think I agree? Jay's been one of the biggest surprises to me in that he's actually an alright dude whose worst crime is having a typical BBUK showmance, and while I can't stand Aden he's not evil, just harmless and pathetic. The only reason Aaron and Harry had a leg to stand on as the protagonists was because of Anton's panto villain bull****.

Thanks for reminding me of another reason why this rewatch was so beneficial. For some reason I had it in my head that Anton was some devilish evil gameplaying mastermind and was the second coming of Victor, but lol no how wrong I was. He's absolutely awful, by far my least favourite housemate of BB12 and is trying to hard to be Victor (who, btw, can never be touched as one of, if not the best male housemate of all time <3).

Aden was useless and a waste of space and I will never forgive the British public for keeping him in over Heaven. Jay is okay but he is frustrating to watch at times, and I can't get it out of my head that he **** in the freezer :joker:

Harry is a very confusing housemate tbh. At some points he seems to be the most reasonable/sensible (w/e you wanna call it) but then whenever he's with Aaron he's actually unbearable to watch and totally feels entitled to everything. Like, I was fuming at him when he started yelling at Alex and Heaven for no apparent reason other than the fact that he realised they were coming off the situation looking better than he was.

This thread makes me want to rewatch BB12 but I really don't think I have the strength to trudge through the weeks leading up to Jem's entrance. I might try to turn my rewatch into a good thing by making an Aaron-Lite edit of BB12 (just as soon as I finish cutting Spencer Bledsoe out of Survivor Cagayan)

Tashie makes Week 1 bearable and funny at times, and Week 2 is semi-decent with Alex coming to the forefront a bit more, the Yes/No task, Rebeckah and Heaven's fight (which is really over exaggerated, it only lasted like 60 seconds :laugh:) and Heaven slaying Rebeckah in the eviction :flutter:

Week 3 is pretty dull although there is the Maisy/Faye/Tom/Aaron love square thing going on, and Heaven trying to control the shopping list :love: and I guess Harry yelling at Heaven and Alex for no reason is better than nothing.

Week 4 is absolutely dire though, pretty much the only things that happen are the Bananas being ordered, Aaron and Harry getting all pissy with Jay and Anton for trashing their clothes, and Mark walking.

So yeah, the first 2 weeks are ok, week 3 is tolerable but week 4 is awful, so you'll need to get through that before ~The Jem Palmer Experience~

I usually do like your opinions Troy, and I certainly won't be able to get you or anyone else from Sucks for liking Aaron but I disagree with you on the Jem appreciation. Take away Aaron as a housemate and Jem is for all extensive purposes a monotonous sea of misery and not in an enjoyable way ala Liz Jones. Aside from Aaron related issues there's some sisterly bickering and that's really it. I'd probably go as far to say that 85% of the reason anyone likes Jem is down to her dislking Aaron, and as Katie Hopkins showed this year no contestant should ever be liked by default because of the flaws of another.

I find Aaron as frustrating as you do at times, but I do see aspects of him that were enjoyable and I think that compared to his other realistic competition (Jay and Alex) he was the best choice to win. Honestly Faye was my favourite from that year.

I don't fundamentally disagree with any of this, but I think the big difference between someone like Jem and someone like Katie Hopkins is that Jem hated Aaron because she's protective of Faye and loves her, while all of the people Katie Hopkins hated were just to push her agenda of creating a controversial personality just for the sake of getting publicity and notoriety and whatnot. Since this is BB12 we're talking about, I'll quote the feckless Aden and say that Jem had all the genuinity that Katie Hopkins lacks. I know you weren't comparing them as people though.

I can't really get on board with criticizing Alex and Tom as tryhards in a series that had Anton, Aden, Rebeckah, and Tashie (lol <3) to name a few. And considering that the main conflict of the Purple Koalas vs. the Wolfpack was ridiculously draining, I was perfectly content throwing all my eggs in Alex and Tom's basket since they were at least trying to have fun. Just give me 42 minutes of Alex and Tom playing with tin foil dolls and it'd probably be a better episode than any randomly picked episode of BB12.

k so I just watched Day 40 and you pretty much hit the nail on the head BUT just for the sake of documenting my progress here are my thoughts

-Jem's DR about how Aaron's main concern is setting little games off and watching them all come to fruition and how he BETTER not be ****ing with Faye because she falls in love with the wrong guys easily, and if it becomes a problem she WILL step in <3333333333 fanning myself so hard rn
-lmfao and then Jem drags Faye into the toilet all "ya Aaron is intelligent and is playing a game he's trying to crack the code :\ I came in wary of him bc of what I saw before that you guys haven't seen :\ he makes drama to entertain the viewers *but* at least you're benefiting from it too I guess :\ he *does* like you he's just making it television with you too :\" lmao she's such a wench <3

-Aaron tells Faye he wants Jem to be evicted tomorrow for burping in his face, which Jem replied "hahaha... True Colours...." and then "Dickhead" whilst sorting out her hair in the mirror <3

-Straight after Jem completes the task, she walks out to Faye who is lying down outside - "Faye, I think I'm going to go just before the eviction process x"

Jem: "Maybe I only planned to stay for a short time anyway? *BUUUUURRPP* Oh ****" :joker:

BB: "What would make you be happy to stay here?"
Jem: "For Aaron to leave. I don't like feeling hate for someone and I'm starting to feel hate." :laugh:

-lol then Faye reveals she only did 2 burps in Aaron's face and Jem did 13 :joker:
-Jem tells the house (minus Aaron) she's gonna go home because she's missing her family and her cats and she's not enjoying it anymore and the whole house is telling her not to go

-awwww Faye's upset that Jem's trying to upset her but Jem just doesn't like it when someone messes with her sister's heart ;_; so sweet <3
-Jem also had a gr8 DR about how Aaron's not a good person if he's getting this uptight about a burp, and then BB informs her that she has six more minutes to get two more burps in so she goes and burps a **** ton of times while Harry's telling Aaron a story about his dead dog :joker::joker::joker: ****ing DONE
-;_; Jem wants to walk because of the whole situation and Faye's upset but Jem keeps burping from all the fizzy pop :joker:
-BB: What could happen between you and Faye that would make you want to stay?

-The Palmers have another touching moment where they're crying because all they can do is give each other advice and then it's up to the other to do what they want with it, and then they hug and cry and Faye says that she really doesn't want Jem to leave and Jem cries that she loves Faye so much <333333 such a tearjerker moment
-lmfaooooooooooo and then it's the eviction and the crowd is chanting JAY! JAY! and Louise is sitting there chanting along and pumping her fists with the crowd :joker::joker::joker: and then somehow *JEM* gets the second most votes :joker: such an absurd result even three and a half years later lmfao <33333

It's been almost a week since we've had a proper Palmer sister episode (they had that small (small by their standards) fight about the bathroom about a week ago but before that I think the last big one was over Jem taking Jay to the gym) and this one was sooooooooooooo good

-alol Jem keeps talking about how Faye made herself look like a SILLY BILLY last night bc she crawled back into Aaron's bed, and Jem didn't hesitate to let Faye know about herself :joker: and now Jem wants to leave bc she's not going to watch Faye make a fool out of herself and (surprise) Faye gets all whiny about it
-lollll Faye and Jem making animal noises to annoy Harry off of his rowing machine :joker:
-aww Jem is so charitable letting Alex win the rowing task <3 such a kind soul

-so Faye and Jem had a BIG BLOW UP and... it rly didn't entertain me at all? :( it was a fight about Jem wanting to quit and it was just rly dark and not fun and kinda uncomfy and I didn't rly side with Jem at all. THAT BEING SAID Faye's voice was annoying as **** and her general demeanor was too so I didn't side with her either. IDK, it was just an unfun fight to watch :\

-and then Faye and Jem are worried that they'll be nominated against each other but they make a pact to both walk if that happens <3 they're really sweet and adorable when they're not trying to rip each other's heads off

~Day 47~
-k so the first, like, two-thirds of this episode was unimportant on the Jem spectrum because it was one of those episodes that is All About The Task so it was just Jem placing bets on things
-*THEN* Jem reveals yet again that she wants to walk so that Faye can sort her differences with Aaron out and have fun and not be torn in two directions and so they don't squabble all the time and Faye doesn't get evicted for it. It was really sweet and Jem mentioned how she saw how happy Faye looked when Aaron was doing his karaoke to High School Musical (:yuk:) and it seemed like The Turning Point for Jem :( she realizes that her being there is messing with Faye's head and she's driving a wedge between her and Aaron and she should just leave and let them sort things out. It was a really poignant DR but of course, in typical Jem fashion, she has to let us know that she still thinks that Aaron's a sneak and a snake and she's so sick of how it's always about Faye, whether it be Faye's feelings or her body image or getting Faye a job or guarding Faye form certain people :joker: and BB is trying to guilt Jem by asking if she's being selfish (ew on BB's part for implying this) and Jem is just like "ya but what of it? Faye's done so many selfish things and I've forgiven her so :shrug:" and BB asks her if she feels guilty that people have already voted to save her and Jem was just like "eh yeah but they don't know what it's like in here" <333333

-Jem is going to walk :( I liked what she said about how people are obsessed with staying in as long as possible but she's not <3 go against the status quo girl
-Jem said in the DR that she's going to walk because she's having a negative effect on the house and is obsessed with the whole Aaron thing and her brain spiraled out of control. There's something really endearing about someone who truly loses their mind on reality TV :( and then of course BB is pulling out their last trick to get her to stay by telling her that Faye will be nominated if she walks and she can't tell Faye this :\
-in typical Jem fashion she has a fight with Faye! Jem said that she has to make her decision in twenty minutes and she's not sure what to do and Faye is just like "um you're miserable so it's easy just walk" and Jem yells at her that it's not that ****ing simple and throws her plate on the ground and storms inside <3 gotta love one last Palmer sister bicker
-awww Jem told Aaron to snap Faye back into place since he has a positive influence on her and she's worried that the public won't like how emotional she is, it's really sad to see her realize that she essentially lost her sister to this gormless **** of a human being :(
-omg the scene in the bedroom where Jem's tearing up and telling Faye that she's a strong person and she's so proud of her and she wants her to have a ****ing amazing time and Faye is hysterically crying that she's so scared about getting booed on Friday is so raw n real, and Jem's comforting her by saying that the public will understand what she's going through and that her little heart is breaking :( like say what you want about Jem but her presence provided us with the most human drama of the whole series. This scene in particular was rly poignant and touching <3
-and then Jem walks! She got a really nice Best Bits-esque montage and she got some good goodbyes in right before she walked <3 justice for Jem

so yeah, I'm done with this thread except for maybe a funale update or whatever else! Thanks to everyone for tuning in and I hope I converted a few more people to the church of Jem. I genuinely have no clue how people consider her boring, especially when you consider what BB12 was like before she came in. The Palmer sisters are like a bickering TAR team and the Aaron-Faye-Jem triangular relationship was the realest drama that a series like BB12 could produce. I'm sure these next two weeks are going to suck without The People's Princess tbh.
