View Full Version : Why have they not replicated bb14 yet?

It would make absolute sense for producers to try and replicate the success of bb14.

14 housemates to start
no new housemates
top tier housemate casting:gina, dexter, sallie, hazel
Individuals not team players
Power hungry but not necessarily arrogant or archetype

I think for bb17 they need to think about the sorts of housemates that will create entertainment throughout so there isnt the need for twists or new housemates.

I could not agree more! They said that the casting was bad last year, so why try and recreate the series?

Dexter, Sallie, and Hazel were anything but top tier casting decisions.

BB14 is the reason why we have so much manipulation and twists now, because it seemed to work then. No housemates were that great and there wasn't much going on either.

BB12 and BB13 didn't actually have many twists.

No they were killed by trash housemates.

BB14 was the beginning of production manipulation and unnecessary twists in this era of the show, so I'd rather they kept well away from that path. And anyway, they shouldn't be aiming to re-create any series - they should focus on making this one as good as it can be in original and fresh ways.

And thus my 7,000th post is one responding to Marsh. My last two milestone posts were about UKIP. I don't know which one's worse.

I agree with you bb12 and bb13 were very unique in that they were almsot completely housemate led not producer led. I know bb12 gets so much hate on this forum but i can remember so many 'little moments' in every episode that you just dont see anymore in exchange for storylines.

I agree about BB12, it was trash, BB13 was the best series since BB7 though.

I have to agree. I'd be much more interested in another BB13-esque series than BB14. Horrid White Room twist aside.

This.

TBH, looking back the White Room Twist wasn't that bad at all. I think it was the least producer-manipulated twist on Channel 5. It's just the outcome of the twist that left a sour, and bitter aftertaste.

If someone likeable had actually gotten the money instead of Conorrhea, then the twist would be held in much higher regard.

BB13 is a Channel 5 version of BB6. But with less sex, nudity, and racial undertones.

As I remember BB14 was a good series but after Hazel got evicted it was the boring deep conversations between Charlie and Dexter starting there relationship that just ruined it! And Sam winning aswell, Worst winner ever!

BB14 is actually the only C5 series of civilian BB that I have enjoyed thoroughly from start to finish.

The only thing that let it down really was the winner. I like Sam and he's a very nice guy but he didn't do anything to earn winning it (not that it matters much).
