Big Brother 17 Rumors: New Players Or Returning Houseguests?

The upcoming Big Brother 17 season has everyone wondering if we’ll see a Big Brother cast of all new players, returning Houseguests, or a mix of the two. With just a week to go until the BB17 cast reveal we’re left with rumors and speculation, but is there any reason to believe them?

As reliable as the tide, the new season brought rumors that veteran players would be returning to the Big Brother house, but when this sort of conversation takes place each season it’s hard to give it much credit without supporting information.

Last year we saw claims that Big Brother was replicating Survivor’s Blood Vs Water which obviously wasn’t true, so it seems silly to again be reading that CBS is copying and pasting its reality show themes by going after a “Second Chance” season for BB17 just like Survivor 2015 S31 is doing right now. Anything is possible, but that seems like a lazy rumor to start.

As Big Brother Access reported, Evel Dick shared news that he heard we’d be seeing “at least some returning players” though he admits he doesn’t know if it’s true or not. ED certainly has plenty of connections and could hear reliable information, but it seems he didn’t feel confident enough to share without noting his own uncertainty of the rumors.

But if you want to go with someone who perhaps has the most Big Brother connections of all then we can turn to Julie Chen. Last season she noted we were unlikely to see a Big Brother All-Stars 2 season anytime soon thanks to the strong ratings of recent all-new casts. Of course she could be trying to throw us for a loop, but I don’t think that’s the case. Although a mixed cast of vets & newbies wouldn’t violate a “no all stars” statement, would it?
The Big Brother 17 cast will be revealed on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 and we’ll have all the bios and details for you ready to go that day. You can watch the reveal on the Live Feeds that day. I’ll also be sitting down with the cast at the same time to get their take with our interview videos arriving soon after. This timeline does raise another question for me: why CBS is rushing the reveal?

In recent past years I’ve met the cast for interviews and then several days later they were revealed to fans. This time they’re revealing the names before the press interviews. CBS could be nervous of another leak like Hollywood Reporter did last year when they foolishly posted the cast hours early. The year before that I was reading online discussions of Elissa being in the cast before I even interviewed her that day. Very frustrating to have happen when I’m out there working hard on these interviews.

While we’ve never violated our embargo it seems other members of the press have more holes in them than the Bomb Squad’s gameplan and it could be enough to force CBS to make sure they’re the first to make the cast known. But could that be because the names on the cast list are just too tempting to reveal in the case of returning players? We’ll know for sure next Tuesday!

I think it will be all new people again. Realistically they used all the "all star" players in season 13 and 14, and the last two seasons have been filled with either cowards, racists, bullies or annoying twats that none really deserve to return.

Pretty sure Robyn Kass casts Canadian version as well and season 2 had some great characters so casting can be done correctly. I think stupid twists have a major part to play as well, I mean look at Big Brother 10, it had a one or two twists and had no opening night twist and that season had some great characters. Even if they show them past seasons, a season full of only recruits would be cool to see.

If not, I want something like a perfect 8 and 8 mix between superfans and recruits. Making a season where one holds a clear majority over the other isn't a good idea, no matter which side is in the majority.

I just hate how almost all the superfans we get act like they know the game and claim to be students of the game, but then are very unaware of who they themselves are and how they are perceived, and then become nonfactors. They're usually self-congratulatory idiots who never hesitate to pat themselves on the back for being armchair quarterbacks.

I'll always champion all recruits who are shown nothing in sequester because the season will end up raw and real. There is no right or wrong way to play BB, and all recruits with no exposure means that no precedent is set. Just let things fold out organically with no expectations to adhere to.

Da’Vonne Rogers, a 27-year-old poker dealer living in LA, comes from what she considers an “extremely religious family” but she might not share the same dedication. Da’Vonne’s mother is a minister and her uncle is a pastor, but while they were at church she’d rather get out to the beach.
Da’Vonne is a single mother who has enjoyed watching Big Brother with her grandmother who happened to encourage her to apply for BB17. She’s studied the comps and knows she’ll have to overcome her preference for going it along if she wants to survive in the game.

Liz has got an identical twin sister who's deleted a bunch of her social media stuff, so some people think they might try to bring back the twin twist from BB5. Hopefully that counts for one of the missing HGs, and the other one can be filled by a pre-jury evictee return twist or by new HGs entering late. Any combination of those three twists would be better than vet returnees ruining the season and narrowing the All Star candidate pool.

More on Audrey from someone who played in her ORG series :joker:

I know her from iSurv1vor. I actually won the season prior to the one that she won, so I did a sort of handing off of the crown thing at the vote reveal for Venezuela's "reunion." Most of her season was Skype based communication between the players and she did video confessionals. I think she'll be entertaining to say the least... either she'll overplay and crash early or she will go very deep. I don't see any in between. She backstabbed a lot of people and played a very aggressive game in iSurv1vor. She once did my astrological chart one-on-one with me over Skype and she's really into signs and all of that stuff. It was interesting but she claimed that she used it in her strategy during the game, basing people's astrological signs on whether or not she'd work with them. She actually almost quit at Final Tribal in iS because apparently her psychic told her that she was gonna to lose to her showmance. I'm seriously not making that part up. To elaborate and give you some insight into some of her... "antics?" (for lack of a better term,) she made up a story about a family emergency/her cousin attempting suicide as the reasoning for her needing to remove herself from the FTC. She turned up the night of the Jury Q&A though with some kind of odd explanation and she won. I've never been particularly close to her but I've never had a problem with her either. She was an interesting person to say the least. I'd heard from a few people that she's kept in touch with in the ORG Community that she was going to be on BB. Many of the alumni and staff from the iS series hate her though (I'm pretty sure the feelings are mutual too, so I doubt that there is any love lost there.) I have never heard anything about her being transgender. If it's true it never came up in the time I knew her. I don't think she is but I guess it wouldn't shock me either? Either way she's pretty. I am excited to watch her play.

I think this'll be a season where I really prefer the females, which would be the first time in BBUS since BB13. Most of the guys came across as boring or annoying. I don't have strong feelings one way or the other for pretty much anyone, though, so my rankings could change a lot when I actually see them on the show.

I feel like this cast could create a LOT of arguments, lots of drama. Doesn't seem like too many actual superfans.
