Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has been installed as a new executive producer on The X Factor.
The Girls Aloud star is back on the show this autumn for her fifth year and was given the promotion by boss Simon Cowell.
She revealed at the weekend: "This year Simon wanted me more involved in the decision making. He wanted to know my ideas, what I thought, who I thought would be good. I get excited and blurt things out and then he'll say 'That's actually a really good idea.'"
And while they may have on-screen rows all the time, behind the scenes it seems as though they make for quite the duo.
"We have creative moments together. We work really well off camera, just him and me in a meeting," Cheryl added.
"It's true," Simon told the Daily Star newspaper. "I naturally consult Cheryl more because she's been working with me for a long time.
"She's passionate about the show and isn't just in it for the cash. She's very involved and she's definitely happier than a year ago, much happier."
Earlier this year saw Cheryl suggest that the X Factor should ditch its famous categories.
Rather than each judge being in charge of either a group of Girls, Boys, Groups or Overs, Cheryl said that the four panelists could each have one of the four different types of act.
She told Radio 1's Newsbeat: "I think it's far more exciting, not just for us as judges but also for the viewers at home."
Cheryl went on: "You're never going to have a runaway category, because there's always like, 'Well, the girls are obviously the best.'
"They might be like, 'Ooh, Rita's got the best boy, but Simon's got the best girl, and Nick's got the best group, but Cheryl's got the best over.'"
The X Factor 2015 begins this Saturday night on ITV at 8PM.
