Tellymix as usual have posted a ratings crisis post for XF:

"Last night's second audition show fell a further one million viewers on Saturday's number down to 6.4 million viewers.

And it doesn't bode well at all for the rest of the series given that auditions have generally become the highest rated part of the show.

The weekend's X Factor shows have benefited from a general lack of competition too with Strictly Come Dancing returning next Saturday night, overlapping with the latest auditions by 20 minutes."

yeah there's been some great talent, but SCD hasn't even started, so it will probably fall to 5M.

I bet in 10 years everything will be on Netflix and nothing will be live except for a final.

It's a worn out format. Of course people are gonna get bored.

The auditions are predictable aka - sad music plays then they say a bit about how they died when they were younger then came back to life and then they're really good and the audience stand up and "Nature's Law" by Embrace plays or - a girls comes on wanting to "prove herself" after a load of bad auditions and gets a "4 billion yeses" from Simon

it got 5.9 without +1, and 400k on +1

25% share.

That's what the show deserves for having two bland winners in a row, and the runners up being even worse.

People are finally getting bored with the talent show format.

Plus ratings are down across the board on TV, it's dying out.

They need to mix the editing up, you can tell too easily whether an act will succeed or not. And also the scouting, backing dancers, intro videos.. that all needs to stop. I also quite like seeing poor auditions, but they need to make it so you see far more of them. Maybe instead of showing 4x 30 second clips of them, have 8 or so 10-15 second clips.. that used to work around the 2011 era.
