Does it actually Matter????????

Both are bad in my book, and both sould be a big deal.

That said ive seen plenty of direct and indirect Rasism, and undercurrents.

Obviously they are both bad, but not as bad as each other, and I don't think the term racist should be put to someone on the basis of what we have seen in the BB house.

Ignorant , yes , but that is different to racist.

It's bullying - but you are quite right, neither is acceptable.

I would say bullying but i can also see why people think it's racism, both are bad and not acceptable i think if it was racism something would of been done.

I can think of 2 points in the show where racist filled comments were made. And it is bullying, no doubt

It's bullying, nothing more, nothing less, I don't condone it but I accept it.

This is not my opinion but isn't racism.
Taking the mic out of her colour/religion.
Take the mic out of her country/status.

The haven't done this.

The point being that bullying should never be acceptable.

My phrase of accept meaning "I accept it happens in other places other than a house on tv."

it wasnt shilpas colour that got the most notice,i think it was her celebrity.

People would say it was bullying whatever colour she is. Not everyone is saying it's racism - I personally don't believe it's racism either, but it is definitely bullying.

Whether it's racism or not is not the issue. It is most definitely a case of acute and extreme ignorance towards somebody who's only offence is nothing more than being different from the people attacking her. It's ignorance which leads to prejudice which leads to racism.

If it was Jermaine and Shilpa being so nasty I'm sure you would not accept it. But because it's man faced Jo, your idol...:pat:

Its simple. Its BOTH racism AND bullying.

The problem is, people are playing down the racism because the bullying is more prevelent, trying to claim the racism doesnt even exist.

But I don't think it is fair to say an ignorant person is a racist.

If someone is un/misinformed and unaware in a subject their judgements will be wrong but it doesn't make them racist.

Ignorance leads to racism. It's a fact. If somebody has been misimformed then it is up to them to listen and learn not to judge and belittle. I again go back to the person who pointed out that Shilpas culture is as much a mystery to Jermaine and Dirk as it is to Team ignorant. However, they are reacting in a different and more acceptable way.

That's the thing with some of them in the house they just make assumptions based on ignorant views they already hold and come out with the first thing in they think of rather than actually learn to listen about find out about people's cultures.

Yes ignorance can lead to racism. But if you have no knowledge about another culture, and all you've seen is possibly from films or random bits you hear now and then your judgement is going to be misinformed. If we are unaware of something we automatically make assumptions on what we do know. She doesn't know what she is saying is wrong but she doesn't know what is right either. Yes, it is up to us to listen and learn and that is the best thing to do, but just because she hasn't it does not make her racist.

One of the comments Danielle has been referred to as being racist is when she has asked after a discussion about Shilpa fingering their food if it was in India or China that they ate with their hands... Now most people know that this is a stupid thing to say , but due to her ignorance she doesn't know that what she is saying isn't true and it is probably something she may have heard somewhere or seen somewhere, she also said she thought Winston Churchill was the first black president of America, again another stupid thing to say but not at all racist.

But that is not racism just because they have not learnt or listened.

We haven't seen them ask Leo who lives in Australia, Jermaine/Dirk who live in America about where they live and neither have they done the same with Shilpa.

Shilpa has been the HM's ( Not all of them though!) target for both bullying and racism. Jack called her a '****' which is just a vile and evil thing to say, and the bitches have been bullying Shilpa, maybe not to her face as much, but behind her back they have a field day talking about her.

I think they'd still be nasty to her if she wasn't of a different race, so I'd guess it was closer to bullying.. but that still doesn't make it right AT ALL!

Have you all heard that they are burning effigys in India. This is getting big. It also proves how big a star Shilpa is.

My point is that what we're seeing here may or may not be racism. It is, however, extreme ignorance which, to me, is just as unnacceptable. Danielle Lloyd needs to be taught to listen and learn before opening up her potty mouth.

Ignorance of this sort should not have a platform no matter how entertaining it may seem at time, because it inevitable leads to pretty dodgy views on rather sensitive issue.
