It had quite a strong cast and a good pre-merge, all the good things about the cast were overshadowed by the three I'm not gonna name.

But Hali, Mike, Shirin and Jenn were all amazing <3 Joe, Carolyn were pretty good too. Lindsay, Vince and Nina were all great <3 And I liked So but then she went to the dark side post-show.

I think Devin is the only one of those people that were entertaining. Pow pow was just annoying and Joey I didn't find entertaining at all. Brittany and Amber are nice people and them going far wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world but they had no strategic ability at all. So Devin going far would have been the only thing that could have helped that season. It was pretty much doomed from the start I think.

Oh I don't even think the two are comparable at all. The SJDS cast delivers and is a hell of a lot more likable, I think the game played out in a much more interesting way in SJDS, and while I'm not particularly crazy about Blood vs. Water as a twist, I'll take that any day over Probst's latest social experiment arbitrary mechanism by which to divide the tribes.

And while I don't think the pre-merge was good, I think it's so much better than the post-merge, which truly is garbage. I'll put some more post-merge thoughts in the spoiler tag.

The whole thing is just really gross and grimy. The only legitimately rootable people were Mike and Shirin, and then once Shirin is booted we're left with...

Will (boringly offensive)
Rodney (so ****ing offensive)
Dan (see above)
Sierra (kinda UTRfun but still painfully UTR)
Carolyn (kinda alright when they finally show her in the last two episodes)

and those people are NOT capable of carrying the four remaining hours of footage. The dynamics of their alliance may have been interesting, but since the overall story is Why Mike Wins we don't even get to see anything beyond the ridiculously straightforward Mike vs. Rodney and Co. storyline. I don't know, I just don't see much viewing value in Worlds Apart in general, but the post-merge was especially dire to me.

I feel like I've made my feelings on Nicole pretty clear over time but: she's decent in the context of the abysmal BB16, but at the end of the day she's a bit basic and trite really nothing special. I know you love to make everything about you and LukeB but let's just stick to the topic at hand.

The pre merge of Worlds Apart was excellent though, the merge was tragic. And SJDS is amazing, it's one of the most underrated seasons of all time, it deserves more and more love <3

I like Mike and he was my fave after Shirin left, but I think he is slightly overrated. Lots of people overlook the fa that he was really irritating and life-sucking before the merge happened and was basically the Derrick of the season at the start.

Still easily the best male of the season though (along with Joe)

It's just a medley of everything wrong with modern day Survivor - terrible editing, sucky boot order, no characterization because everyone's edited to be a gamebot, inconsistent storytelling in order to hype up shocking moves, a ridiculous amount of emphasis on buzzwords like BIG MOVES and PLAY DA GAME and VOTING BLOCS.

It's just a lifeless season. Storylines start and stop without any explanation. We're randomly told that X and Y are now aligned and we're expected to just roll with it. The whole overall story is confusing and inconsistent. The cast consists largely of people who are obsessed with the strategic game in a dry way, and the few people who actually have enough charisma are booted early or edited out of the show. There are plenty of big moves and blindsides, but they're done with such a lack of emotion that it's as boring as watching a game of chess.

I could go on and on but I'll stop here. It just infuriates me that the general public is praising this season as one of the best ever and they're the same people who clamored about SJDS being the worst of all time.

Don't get me wrong, the Jeff dragging was good (although there was far too much focus on Dan and not enough on Will who was much worse, Rodney got off lightly also) and deserved but whereas they were just vile and boring to boot, I found Dan to be hilariously messy, just ignorant

I am *NOT* willing to accept any form of Dan appreciation, even in an ironic sense. He's a gross sexist pig, he's smug as **** for no reason, and he refused to budge from a losing position while simultaneously being condescending af to anyone below him in the pecking order. Just a complete miserable viewing experience.

I also kinda can't stand Jenn and since it was mentioned, I found her jury speech to be awful. I think it's hugely lame to use your jury speech to address the other jurors and tell them how they should vote, since it's usually to try to appear to be the bigger person and discourage a bitter jury. There's nothing wrong with bitter juries and the idea that people need to Vote For The Best Player is kinda ruinous to Survivor. And also, like... Jenn Brown of all people trying to tell others to not be bitter or emotional? Look in the mirror sis.

Favourite moment - Parvati using 2 idols on Sandra and Jerri to blindside one of the heroes.. J.T was my favourites too but that tribal council wow.
