Discussion and speculation about the ratings of CBB17.

With TV viewership down a lot this year with most shows I'm guessing about 3.0M
2014 and 15's launch rating:
CBB15 - 3.27million (16.3%)
CBB13 - 3.4million (15.0%)

Agreed. January usually gets pretty big names and most people were pretty positive about the summer series which may encourage more people to watch.
I'm going with a lower figure (3.0-3.2 million) with a similar share (14-15%). A little more optimistic than you though

Sadly with all these low TV ratings accross the board I don't believe the numbers now using the outdated ratings method

CBB13 and CBB15 both got around the same launch rating of 3.7m, but with TV viewership down recently (with the two recent series of BB suffering), I'm going to take a guess and say 3.3m official for the launch.
Maxxie.

The official launch rating has never been below 3.6m. I think it will be above that maybe slightly below no less than 3.50 though. But i think the year of this year's bb bight lower it as it's had the lowest ever rated bb & cbb this summer. Theres usually 1m difference with summer & january so I think the average will be 2.9m unless it's outstanding which it potentially will be.
Jason.
08-11-2015, 11:14 AM
Isn't it usually 1m difference between the January CBB and the summer CBB that air the same year as opposed to the summer CBB that aired a few months earlier in the previous year. But even then that's not always true.
CBB10 averaged 2.2m and CBB11 averaged 2.8m.
CBB12 averaged 2.3m and CBB13 averaged 3.1m.
I think that was only for CBB14 where it was 1m down on CBB15.
But if the viewers who stopped watching BB16/CBB16 also don't tune in to CBB17 as well as the decrease in TV viewship, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if CBB17 rates around 2.8m overall like CBB11 did.
Will.
08-11-2015, 11:30 AM
yeah so CBB16 averaged 1.9M
So if we go by that then it would be around 2.6-8.
Jason.

Bump.
With IAC now over, CBB just round the corner (has it really been 2 months since CBB16 ended?), and the eye being revealed. I thought I'd bump this thread.

With just two and half weeks to go till this series kicks off and with the house pictures having been just revealed. Any predictions?
I'm going to say 3.3m for the launch and 2.9m official series average.

I honestly don't know. I know CBB15 recovered very well from BB15/CBB14 being the lowest at the time, and now CBB17 will follow a BB16/CBB16 which were the new lowest rated, so will it recover, time will tell?
I'd say in terms of where BB stands at the moment, they are in a better position now than we would have been if there was no CBB16 inbetween BB16 and CBB17. I know just like BB15, BB16 rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way.
So I think CBB16 was a generally well received series compared to the latest civilian series, with a winner which fit the bill more than a lot of the other winners. So, I think C5 will be happy they had CBB16 as a welcome break because BB16 got such a frosty reception and CBB16 didn't.
So IMO, CBB17 is in a better position in the case that it followed a series which didn't piss many people off.
But will CBB17 be the lowest winter CBB ever? That stands as CBB9s 2.6m official average right now. The thing with CBB17 is that I don't think they will have a standout character like the last two Jan series (Jim and Hopkins). So it could suffer from that. CBB16 had Janice which was a big draw but it didn't stop it from being the lowest rated CBB (even though it was up half a million from BB16 which is a decent lift).
I'm going to say that it will be the first CBB winter series to launch under 3m.
2.6m overnight (3m official), and an official average of 2.5m (overnight average of 2.1m).
Jason.

2.6m overnight (3m official), and an official average of 2.5m (overnight average of 2.1m).
I think you're predicting way too low, I don't think it will average lower than CBB9 officially - given CBB is in a much better state now than it was back in 2012, especially with the last successful two years the show has had with CBB13 and CBB15. And CBB16 being well-received too.
I don't think it will average 3.1m like the last two years have, but a loss of 0.6m is quite a big drop. TV viewership would have to be low for that to be possible as well as it being quite an awful series (hopefully not :fc:). I think it will average lower than 3m officially, but higher than 2.5m. I personally think 2.8/2.9m sounds more realistic. But only time can tell. I'd love for it to average 3m (even if it is lower than CBB13/15), but with everything rating low/lower than usual recently, I don't have much hope.
Jason.

To be honest today has been a good day for CBB promo.
On Twitter Im surprised it's not getting too much of a bad reaction due to the lineup. Twitter has exploded today.
So...
- CBB HM selection leaked by The Sun, Daily Mail and The Daily Star
- Kim Kardashian has tweeted about CBB and how she will watch it, she has almost 39m followers, so that's some great promo.
- Channel 5 at the moment, Best 2015 Moments has had a lot of CBB moments in them.
- 5* has been running repeats of the "Best of BB on 5" shows right now.
- LAD Bible posted the lineup, "who the hell are these people" and the comments on the page were very very bad and how everyone hated BB, BUT they have 11m likes on the page, so any promo is good promo.
So today has been a good one in making people know its coming back.

CBB8: 5.08m (21.9%)
CBB9: 3.54m (16.6%)
CBB10: 2.71m (13.1%)
CBB11: 3.55m (17.0%)
CBB12: 2.83m (15.7%)

CBB14: 2.36m (12.6%)
CBB15: 3.27m (16.3%)

Honestly don't think it will be anywhere near CBB15. I predict 2.4m. Interesting that despite CBB15 launching at lowest winter, it became the highest ever on C5, despite it launching with 1.9m less than CBB8!!!

A little comparison:
TXF 2015 launched with a Million drop on the previous year (7.33M in total)
A million is 1/8 of the viewing audience of XF (8M)
CBB2016 launched with a 400K decrease on the previous year. (2.8M)
400k is 1/8 of the viewing audience. (3.2M)
So both shows have lost the same amount of viewers on launch.
Obviously not precise as I rounded slightly.

the problem with the demographic of shows such as bb, x factor etc, they are more likely to catch up online more than any other demographics, which means in general most shows are down in overnights.
*edit* well its not a problem as such, just maybe, a little bit less concerning.

CBB15 continued with 2.5M on the second night (700k decrease 3.2M)
CBB13 continued with 1.8M on the second night (it was a Saturday though), 1.6M decrease (3.4M).
CBB11 continued with 2M on the second night, a 1.5M decrease. (3.5M)
So I'd guess around 2.1-2 for tonight, maybe less. It depends.
Jason.
06-01-2016, 03:02 PM
Not a bad rating. I mean it's inveitable given the decrease of TV viewership in the past year. So with officials coming in it should be around 3.2/3.2m (just as I predicted) which isn't too bad.

I think C5 need to stop worrying about ratings and focus more on the quality of the show rather than trying to get high viewers, because it won't happen. They made that mistake in BB16, which could've been a good series had they not tampered with it and kept it natural like the first few weeks week. Yeah it still would've rated crap, but I'd rather have a good series which rates rubbish than a crap series which rates rubbish.
I also think the viewership decrease is down to people not watching live TV much anymore as opposed to the show being crap (in CBB's case anyway, with BB it's because it's crap)
Will.

:clap1:
Very true, along as it stays consistently above like 2M then they shouldn't worry, just focus on creating an iconic series, which they have done with CBB over the last couple of years.
I just get bored of BB sometimes, I think having it on for like 10 weeks is too much, unless they cut down the amount of episodes, everynight is overkill, no other show is on everyday like that for 10 weeks.
2 hours on Sunday, 1 hour on Wednesday, and 90 mins on Friday.
Jason.
06-01-2016, 03:26 PM
I personally don't think the duration is the reason why it's rating low. I don't think 10 weeks is too much given it used to air for 13 weeks about 10 years ago and still get like 4m viewers (I mean I know it's not a good comparison given the show was more better/relevant back then and it was...10 years ago) but even three years ago a 10-week series could average 1.9m (even BB13 was doing well in the ratings and was rating a comfortable 1.8m before the Olympics came along).
Having a highlights show every few days would be awful given C5 hardly show us much in a one hour nightly episode with all the montages, coming-ups, previously, and the warning titles. So to fit 3 days worth of footage into a one hour Wednesday episode would probably do more harm than help. The silly stunts and gimmicks is why the show has failed in recent years, and unfortunately C5 live and breath them so the format will continue to rot and rot because they've lost a heavy amount of loyal viewers during BB15/16 and they won't learn and will continue to lose more and more. It's the reason why shows like TA and IAC are still doing well a decade later, because they don't have silly gimmicks and they keep the format largely the same. If you compared to the format of BB7 to say BB16, it'd be a completely different show. Heck if you compared the format of BB12 to BB16, it'd be a different show.
Will.
06-01-2016, 03:29 PM
Yeah I get were you coming from, it probs wouldn't work with CH5.
kind of annoying how the first 2 weeks of BB16 rated really low but once we had 4in4out ratings went up.
they need to just follow BB13/14 as a template and they should be fine.

we don't have the +1 yet but last night got 2.00m excl. Probably 2.2m with +1. Launch got 2.8m.
There is usually a 25% ish drop from launch to first hls, so standard drop. In fact, I think CBB11 had a drop from 3.4m to 2.0m, which is much larger fall.

DS:
BBC1:
Dickensian- 2.66m
Sir David Attenborough's Great Barrier Reef- 3.20m
ITV:
Midsomer Murders- 5.36m
Channel 4:
Secret Shopper with Mary Portas- 1.50m
24 Hours in A&E- 2.09m
Katie Piper's Bodyshockers- 993k
Channel 5:
Celebrity Big Brother- 2.19m

That's decent and pretty much the norm for the 1st episode seeing as most people don't tune in as they stupidly think its just a recap *Bangs head against wall* I think tonight should rise the launch was great BUT i'll be honest this is the first CBB in years where everyone is all lovey dovey and im really scared we may get another CBB8/CBB11.

Yeah it's not bad.
I mean CBB11 went from 3.4m to 2.0m in one day. CBB13 went from 3.3m to 1.9m in one day (however that was a Saturday). So it's higher than both of them, both series ended up surging in the ratings. Don't know how CBB11 surged considering how awful it was!
I agree with you about the recap. I don't think tonight will rise because last nights BB wasn't received very well. I reckon 1.9m incl +1 sadly.
The lovey dovey stuff wont last. The first 3-4 days are usually pretty dead, it then explodes after the first eviction usually. Also, I see Jonathan and Angie already had a tiff this morning so that's a story we can follow.
Lol, I don't condone violence but if he makes a stupid comment in the house, I'd love for him to get punched :joker: sadly the person doing the punch will get kicked out though!

NOTE: I didn't put CBB15's second overnight as that was a live show which always rates higher, so took the third highlight show.
It's actually decent, remember TV viewership is down. a 100-200k loss is acceptable considering most shows are losing a lot more viewers.
200k is like 10% of an audience decrease.
CBB11 averaged 2.3M views overall which I'm sure this series can beat once it really starts progressing.

Cant believe theres an eviction tonight though whats the point? Literally 3 days in the house.

yeah, it will most likely follow CBB13.
I'm sure the rows in CBB13 took a few days to properly begin?
Yeah it seems a bit pointless, should have just waited until Tuesday.

A lot of the BB audience are pretty dumb but even they are getting bored of the "storyline" that magically appears in week 2 :joker:

With TV audiences down on a whole anyway, I'm not surprised. I'm actually shocked it's managed to keep that many viewers. I expect a bit of a pick-up in the officials when everything is taken into account.

2.04m incl +1 for last night.
Meh, it did beat everything on C4 and BBC2, but we should be prepared for the lowest rated winter series IMO.
Winter series:
CBB9- 2.6m official average
CBB11- 2.8m official average
CBB13- 3.0m official average
CBB15- 3.1m official average
Shame, CBB17 is going to reverse that :(
CBB13 also averaged 3.1m didn't it? It averaged 3.07m officially.

3.04m.
CBB15 was the one that averaged 3.07m.
However CBB13 in general is the most successful in terms that it kept growing, CBB15 was dragged down in the last week, it would have been around 3.2m official last year if it wasn't for the last week.

Tonights going to be bad (and tomorrow obviously being a Sat) because the first show faces football, but hoping it can still be 2m.
Lip Sync is then on.
Followed by the eviction interview at 10:30pm-11:05pm which IMO is too late, and will struggle to even get 1.5m

Launch night - 2.81M (14%)
Lowest launch figure for Jan CBB. Up against Silent Witness.

The only days were it decreased upon the previous week were Wednesday and Thursday in week 2>3.
the second and third week averaged 2.3-4M
Ratings went through the roof in the last few days, with overnights of 2.8-3M
The final week averaged 2.8M overnight.
Jason.

CBB11 actually rated quite well for a crap series. Especially the launch and final (both of which rated higher than CBB15's - the highest rated series of CBB on 5). Like 0.6m more people watched Rylan's win than Katie Price's
iirc, didn't it snow A LOT during CBB11 like in the UK, that probably helped ratings as more people probably stayed indoors during the snow, idk.

Yeah it snowed during Kathy Beale's eviction and she went via the diary room. I remember those days, it felt so wintery and cosy <3

The only small potential positive is IF it got a large +1 rating for it's 9pm episode, but you know... meh. Maybe FA Cup (IF there are lots of footie fans watching this series) dented it.
I reckon it got 1.90m with +1, if it did, then that's like 2.3m officially, which isn't great, but it's not terrible.
Tonight would do terrible obviously because being a Saturday, coming off the back of last night which people have a bitter taste about and TV clashing with it (even though it was a tiny 5 mins).
I cant even see it getting 1.3m. But tomorrow back up to 1.9m levels.
People are right about the last January series.
CBB9 is currently the lowest rated winter series which an official average of 2.6m (2.2m overnight im sure), CBB11 had 2.8m (2.3m overnight), no idea how because it was an awful series bur like someone said I remember as I was in 2nd year of uni and the weather was awful.
I remember everyone staying round my friends house watching Gillian's eviction because we couldn't even open the front door to go out! :joker:
Then I think CBB13 is the one which should be praised more in the long run. It increased week by week and got a great reaction. It was also the first time since BB7 where the final was watched more than the launch.
CBB15 had an incredible start. Jeremy was ejected on the Friday (shown on Sat) and that rated 2.25m which was a record for Saturday, then Ken was ejected and then the next Saturday, another record when 2.54m tuned in.... on a Saturday! Just does prove that if people wanted to watch CBB on a Saturday, they would.
Other Saturday ratings that did well for being on that day was Luisa v Dappy row in CBB13 and that night in CBB14 when everything happened... "you stinking French s***!"

From Liam Hamilton on Twitter.
Alesha Dixon 'robs' #DavidWalliams in UK premiere of #LipSyncBattle on Channel 5, watched by 1.7m at 10pm between 2 #CBB eps - 1.9m & 1.6m
These include +1, Prof Green said 1.8m, but Liam usually gets accurate figures. Anyway for a C5 night getting 1.5m+ is unheard of so great for them. It may not be great BB but they helped LSB a lot.
Big Brother Part 1- 1.9m
Lip Sync Battle- 1.7m
Big Brother The Interview- 1.6m

Hi all I had to make an account because there's something I think a lot of you are not taking into account on these rating threads
In Ireland celeb big brother is now shown on TV3 which is one of the main 3 channels in Ireland really. I can't remember when it started broadcasting but I think it was the normal series which Chloe Wilburn won.
Now up until this point ALL Irish viewers watched the show on Channel 5 and many of us on Sky couldn't record it (as you have to manually add the channel) which meant we were watching the show live on channel 5.
This CBB and the last CBB have been on TV3 and ratings have been quite good at around 300-400k while it isn't massive it doesn't include people who record...
Just a thing to take into consideration that all Irish viewers watch the show on a different channel now :)?

TV viewership is decreasing nowadays. Especially in the past year. Didn't someone on here say that TV viewership in 2015 had dropped by about 14% compared to the previous year. Hence why most reality shows/TV shows in 2015 didn't rate as well/rated lower than they did in 2014 (XF, BB, Summer CBB, TA, IAC, etc)

Good point, however Irish people (myself included) who watched on Channel 5 wouldn't have been counted in ratings as we aren't in the UK.
However I suppose it means that Big Brother is being watching by another 100,000+ people, even if they're not counted (in the UK)
I'm not sure it would be as high as 300,000 people to be honest, and its nearly impossible to get figures here :(

I think that's quite hypocritical.
Remember BB16. This is how the story went:
- Big Brother lets them get on with it, not much meddling
- The vieweing figures decline to the worst ever, at one point they were getting 800k on a non Saturday.
- People are moaning why they haven't done anything because "BB is dying"
- BB producers think up of 4 in 4 out
- Ratings increase to around 1.2m, so around 30% higher.
- People think it's unfair.
- Big Brother does Time Warp Week, ratings increase to 1.4m. Highest of the series.
- Viewers moan "WHY, can't they have just left it alone?"
So, those moaning about how dull it is, they are only giving BB the thumbs up to throw in a very annoying OTT twist like Helen Wood going back in again.
So, do people want natural rows and have it run its course, OR do people want producers to mess about with the show like they did in BB15 and BB16?
I bet if they do that, people will them exclaim "You should have left it the way it was"
It's no wonder they don't know what to do sometimes. They probably don't want to change anything because people will phone OFCOM complaining.
Also, I think people are blindsided by the ratings due to CBB13 and CBB15. This series is only down 200k-250k from CBB9 and CBB11 in the overnights. It's not a huge drop considering there are around 20% less viwwers watching TV than they were in 2012 and 2013.
Jamesy

While twists such as 4in4out do work to boost figures, a series such as BB16 was still under performing despite the big twists thrown into it.
Leaving things completely doesn't work these days, so that's easy to accept. Although there still needs to be a degree of the social experiment side of it. The BB14 formula worked well. A mixture of twists and meddling to keep up interest, and natural drama left to do its own thing.
This is more than about twists though. It's about the entire production, from tasks and shopping tasks, to the editing, to how the themes are conceived. I think it's a congregation of things that has caused people to loose interest, rather than one specific thing (like twists).
Saying that I don't find the ratings for this series so far anything to worry about. It's still C5s biggest puller.

It's strange because I am actually enjoying this season so much. It's one of my favourites so far without a doubt! I think the issues lie with how tacky its become and how they haven't bothered changing anything to improve ratings. The whole production is exactly the same, it doesn't matter how good of a cast you have, if the production is crap then the show will be crap.
This to me is the least tacky CBB has been since its move to Channel 5.
Theres a lot of conversation, hardly any meddling from producers, brilliant graphics for a change.....
How is this year tackier than UK VS USA or ALL the Brian series?
Its improved immensely and gone back to much more like the Channel 4 days.
Explain to me whats tackier this year than any other.

I have to say aswell Channel 5 has some brilliant programming at the mo I mean They got The X Files I bet Channel 4 wanted that soooooo much lol.
The new Heroes, CBB, Gotham and love the documentaries.
If this programming was on ITV and didn't have the Channel 5 stigma these shows would be huge.

Well I didn't say this year is tackier than any other series. The highlights episodes have certainly been improved from last year too so I'll agree with you there.
My points are more about how the show has been since BB15, you only need one tacky/messy series to push people away.
The only part of this series that has been tacky is the launch night. Apart from that it's only really the montages at the start of each episode that have been awful, and some of Marcus' narration. They need simplify the editing in some areas still.
For me it's the launch night that set the tone. It was a really poor production. The highlights have been improved however.

As a matter of interest, are ratings of these kind not seriously flawed and outdated?
Do these overnight ratings account for people who watching on playback? For example, I always record Big Brother and watch it an hour later. Am I excluded from the ratings? Surely, actually watching the show at 9pm is a rarity nowadays amongst generation record and playback??? Not to mind the fact that many of my friends and I watch the show on Irish TV channel TV3??? Of course CBB this time last year was going to be higher when it's lost it's entire Irish audience?
Just wondering :)

People who record and watch after are NOT counted in the overnights but counted in the officials, which come out around 8-15 days after. The officials come out usually on a Monday at around 2pm.
Normally for CBB, timeshift adds around 400k, so if you look at all the overnights, add roughly 350-400k to it and then you will have your officials (where catch up is counted).
FYI, CBB11, CBB13 and CBB15 all had very large catch up audiences (around half a million), and they averaged 2.8m, 3.0m and 3.1m officially.

Celebrity Big Brother 17 Ratings!
Launch night - 2.8M (14%)
Lowest launch figure for Jan CBB. Up against Silent Witness. Still a decent figure.
Day 1 - 2.2M (9.9%)
A good rating for the first highlight show, beat CBB11 and 13, not as high as 15.
Day 2 - 2M (9.4%)
Ok! Nearly beat CBB11.
Day 3 - around 2M (not got +1)
Quite low for an eviction.
Day 4 - 1.5M (6.7%)
Meh, low.
Day 5 - 2.1M (9.3%)
Decent for this series.
Day 6 - 2.1M (9.5%)

Day 7 - 2.4M (11%)
A good rating for David Gate.
Day 8 - 2.1M (10%)

We'll see. I don't know how much it will add. As of this moment, the average is 2.09m overnight, tonights interview and tomorrows Saturday and 10:30pm slot will ruin it, but hoping it can end up averaging 2.1m overnights for a 2.5m official? That's what I reckon it will add, around 400k.
Maxxie.
15-01-2016, 05:59 PM
Idk what I actually think it'll average officially but im hoping high for maybe 3.0 like at least 2.8 cuz it deserves it. CBB13 and 15 got 3.1 so I might be setting my sights a bit high but last night's and tuesday's i think will add up to 3m officially anyway.

Channel 5 (exc. +1)
21:00 Celebrity Big Brother: 2.21m (9.9%)
22:00 Lip Sync Battle UK: 1.63m (8.6%)
22:30 Celebrity Big Brother: 1.66m (10.6%)
In comparison to last week where 9pm got 1.7m excl +1, Lip Sync got 1.60m and 2nd show got 1.55m excl +1. So it's comfortably up on last week.
With +1 it will be around 2.4m for 9pm show and around 1.8m for both LSB and the 2nd CBB show. SADLY, Digital Spy doesn't release +1 ratings for Fridays on a Saturday, we won't know until Broadcast updates on Monday!

I think it was just for the 9pm show due to language. Odd, so that ruins the ratings!I was wondering about the language last night you might know a bit more. Are they likely to get a rap on the knuckles for launching straight into the F bomb frenzy at 9pm followed by the C word?. I always thought the 9pm watershed was more of a sliding scale than a definite line. They seemed to revel in it last night night even Emma looked a bit taken aback by it.

I agree. I think it's nothing to do with the F word but 100% to do with the C words that were mentioned literally at 9:01pm. That's why the warning said "very offensive language right from the start". You'd think that the normal viewer would be like "Oh OK, they warned us and it is past 9pm so we won't complain".
I think the C word was dropping three times between 9:00-9:10pm so that may have been a problem. But I dont think it should have been taken off on +1, that is pathetic! That's around 200,000 people that missed out because they didn't have +1 available.
So weird that 4 million viewers separate CBB and EastEnders - CBB doesn't even look bad when you say that.

So here are the officials, in brackets i will put the overnights.
Launch- 3.30m (2.80m)
Wednesday 6th- 2.81m (2.19m)
Thursday 7th- 2.71m (2.04m)
Friday 8th (Part 1)- 2.29m (1.80m) and Friday 8th (Part 2)- 2.32m (1.70m)
Sat 9th- 1.90m (1.46m)
Sun 10th- 2.69m (2.09m)
For the first 6 days, the official average is 2.57m.
Lets bare in mind that this week (opening week) was lower than the week we have just had. Looking at the timeshifts we could see some 2.8m-2.9m officials for the ratings that we have had this week.
Speaking of timeshifts, some very incredible ones here. 670,000 add for the Thursday is phenomenal! Wow at Winston's interview being more than the 9pm show! A lot of ~600,000 type adds which is incredible!
Jason.
18-01-2016, 01:54 PM
That launch rating is good and just as I predicted it would be. :clap1:
Winston's eviction is quite low for a January CBB ngl. Especially as he was a quite a controversial housemate. Exactly a million down on CBB15's first eviction where Chloe went and KP entered. I'm pretty sure the evictions in CBB12 (a summer CBB) rated similar/higher. But slay at the 2nd show getting more than the first show. That only ever happened with C4 so that's good.

Nobody claimed it was ever high brow but the utter contempt for the audience they display now is far ahead of anything you mentioned. The way they choose the housemates which is now widely accepted as "a cast" with cross promotion of other shows they own even to the extent the tasks they do are based on the show that is on next is trash on another level to what you have described.
The show is now dumbed down so much to suit the trash that watch their other crap that it saddens me.

Digital Spy has given up on posting ratings for anything for the last week, so we need to depend on broadcast now.
Broadcast is very reliable but they have their ratings rounded, so to one decimal point but that doesn't matter really! Good news on the ratings front though...

That is TERRIBLE for 10000BC. On positives though, I am pretty sure that the CBB rating is up there with one of the best ever ratings it has gotten against the NTAs. Pretty sure it has always gone sub 2m (well bar last year which i think got 2.3m).

Yep, considering it was ~700k down from CBB15 in the first few days in comparison to what the same episodes of CBB15 got, it is now getting similar ratings. Just to note that CBB15 on Thursday got a 2.6m three times.
I do however think it will drop after tonight for some reason, i think like CBB15 the series is a few days too long and settle back to the ~2.2m-2.3m range (which will still make it around 2.7-2.8m officially anyway).
It was also 100k away from Jericho on ITV which was hyped so much before it started!

Agreed. But tbh it was a little worrying at the start of this series. It launched with 2.8m, fell to 2.2m the next day and 2m the next. So to have it back to 2.4-2.6m levels is fantastic.
Word of mouth is still strong promotion!

I think it was the cast reveal before launch that harmed ratings hope they don't do that again :(
So is this a case of TV viewership decline or what?
It still feels like everybody's watching this series - even though the ratings are down on last year.
