Two years in a row where my favourite has left in week two on a trash sing off.

Just fast forward to that ****ing bore Max winning and releasing his flop single.

I'm so shocked that Seann went he was excellent last night. I do prefer Mason though and I'm thrilled he's still in. He's clearly a nice person too otherwise the others wouldn't be crying while he sung and why would he have pulled Seann in?

No suspence whatsoever
my boo seann goes and wont get any career any time soon.

I wouldn't expect their mentor to do anything other than send it to deadlock given the chance (even though that's a cop out).

But Rita just undermined the whole point of the sing-off.

So, Rita should not get all the blame when holding an opinion and she wasn't the full reason why he went home,.. Nick was scared to make the choice and he took it to deadlock and he goes home.. he had a chance to save Seann

So the only defence of Rita is to divert the heat to Nick?

Sorry but she messed up tonight. If she preferred Mason's performance then fair enough but she admitted that Seann was better, hence why her decision was so utterly idiotic (and much worse than a mentor remaining neutral, which they usually do).

While I agree it should go by the sing off performance it's not a rule so the judges can interpret the rule as they wish surely?

Not really,Nick had the chance to say "I send home Mason" but he got scared, he didn't base it on the performance which is the whole point of a sing off.. I mean look at how many popular contestants went out on deadlock that people ended up fuming about? loads..

No but it certainly should be a rule. It's not a matter of her breaking rules, but abandoning any credibility she might have had as a judge.

I agree it should but it's still not so Rita decided to vote to save the person who she feels has more to offer, that's a fairly legitimate decision.

Okay we're going round in circles now, I mention Rita and you bring up Nick.

My point is that I already expect the mentor of the two in the sing-off to try to remain neutral, they have a sense of loyalty towards their acts (but yes, he still copped out, I've said that). Rita was unbiased and had no reason to vote for any reason other than the sing-off performances.

And I don't think we're going to make any progress here.

Well he actually went because of a combination of not enough votes + Rita choosing to disregard the sing-off entirely, not simply one or the other.

I haven't seen anyone say you haven't got the right to your opinion on how she voted, all I've done is say that she wasn't entirely to blame and the vote off rules aren't specific so she can vote how she feels is right

Now that things have calmed down...

Well... that was a surprise. Based on the sing off Seann should have stayed. Even though i like Mason too. Rita and Nick plummeted that one, although maybe Rita was thinking strategically? Or is that just Simon?

Anyway, based on the sing off, logically Seann should have stayed, cause he had a better performance over his opponent. Masonīs was good, but it had mistakes, while Seann did a stellar act.

Seannīs might fans have done that, while others (Anton, Max, Monica etc.) maybe didnīt and now he is gone.
