I started Blood vs Water ealier, I decided to pick this one because I love SJDS which sues the same idea without returning players. I really don't like the Redemption Island twist tbh, I'd rather have The Outcasts twist if people are going to return. Saying that the first three episodes haven't been bad but there's no stand out characters yet.

Initial favourites of mine are Candice and Laura Boneham. Ew @ Colton quitting cos he couldn't drip poison, but good riddance I guess. I hope Candice returns from RI, I loved her in HvsV and she seems great in this too.

eh, I think Blood vs. Water just provides pre-packaged storylines for producers to shove down our throats more than anything. "Ciera was a teen mom!" "Missy was divorced three times!" "Aras and Vytas have a troubled relationship" like we get it.

I gave up on BvsW cos I kinda wanted a break from the show and the season was DIRE from what I'd seen.

I'm on MilvsGenX now and I've watched the first four episodes. I know it's not popular on here but I am quite liking at the moment I must say. Ken is BY FAR my favourite I adore him in every single way, Michaela/CeCe/Hannah are three other faves too :love: Paul's blindside and David using the idol on Jessica at tribal were both BRILLIANT to watch, I'm just hoping I like this season by the end as much as I do. However, having seen the general opinion on her I'm not so sure :laugh:

yeah Adam is not evil or anything BUT he is extremely boring, provides no humor, doesn't articulate things in an interesting way, does not have a unique point of view, and more or less drags the show down. I feel bad for him on a human level but he's not enjoyable at all.

See I loved the pre-merge and IIRC it was the first two episodes of the merge that I was wary of, but it soon picked up again

MvsGX is one of my favourite seasons I've watched live, probably below Cagayan and slightly above Koah Rong because I preferred the winner. I can understand the criticism and on a certain level think it's justified, but I enjoyed this season for much the same reasons as have been said already; I disliked very few people, loved many, enjoyed the tribals, etc etc.

Yeah, out of all the seasons I've watched MvGx has definitely had the most entertaining TCs. :clap1: Nearly all of them were either unpredictable or had a drama element to them.

The rock draw was shocking but the build up kind of sucked as a storyline tbh. The David vs. Zeke story came out of nowhere and we didn't really get any proper explanation as to why everyone was willing to put their own games on the line for Zeke and Hannah. It was definitely a shocking moment, especially since the previews didn't hint at it at all, but in the greater scheme of Survivor lore it doesn't really resonate much with me. I'll take Sandra burning Russell's hat over that rock draw any day.

Millennials vs Gen X is finished. I must say I actually enjoyed the season, it wasn't like the greatest I've seen but I was going in expecting much worse. The season did focus a bit too much on game play and the cast wasn't the greatest ever but it was entertaining throughout. I ended up liking Adam in the end and I'm glad he won for his mum, Hannah did deserve at least a few votes though.

Started Vanuata earlier, really liking it so far (well the bits on the boys tribe are kinda dull but the women's tribe are a MESS and it's brilliant to watch). Just finished episode two with Dolly's blindside. Eliza/Twila/Scout/Ami are my top four at the moment.

Vanuatu was entertaining enough and has one of my favourite FTCs of the first fourteen series, but my biggest issue is that when it came down to it there was no one really to root for. A just below middle of the road season IMO.

tbh i didn't mind it either but I think this is because people said it was the all time worst season before I watched it and it was above the incredibly low bar I set for it. I still wouldnt recommend it as a good season but Rodney was okay, I liked Mike and Shirin, and although the villains of the series were horrendous and infuriating, at least they made me feel something unlike some of the worst seasons of Survivor

Yeah Cagayan is definitely one of the best seasons ever. It's full of drama, great characters and also good strategy. It's almost universally regarded as one of Survivors best seasons ever.

So, this is being rebooted after like a three and a half year (?!?!?!) absence! Idk I’ve been struggling to find something to watch in lockdown and ended up coming back to Survivor.

I’ll try and watch seasons in order this time :joker: (idk why 16 year old me was just impatient for some seasons like HvsV and Pearl Islands). I’m three episodes into Marquesas currently and it took me a little while to get back into the show after such a long break :laugh: it’s got off to a pretty decent start although Boston Rob is getting way too much edit. Ew.

I don’t think it’s QUITE got going yet, things are still a little slow and the dynamics are changing but it’s been entertaining so far. Kathy and Sarah are my initial faves.

Just finished the merge episode of Marquesas. It’s really started to pick up now and I’ve been enjoying it a lot more. The jury’s still out atm on who’s my favourite and who’s not, nobody has particularly stood out at me but I do like Kathy/Neleh/Vecepia.

So glad Boston Rob has gone :love: couldn’t stand him on HvsV and couldn’t stand him on Marquesas (unfortunately I am aware he manages to somehow do the show SIX ?!?! times... yuck)

Down to F6 now, will probably finish tonight. It’s been a pretty good season and I have been engaged but I can’t really explain what’s so great about it? :joker:. I think it feels very authentic (and I haven’t seen a season for years now tbf) and there is plenty of ongoing drama/storylines to keep me entertained but I can’t pinpoint (as of yet) any truly memorable moments.

Neleh is my fave :love: but I like pretty much everyone left in the F6 (Vecepia and Robert are a little UTR but they’re fine)

Finished Marquesas. Overall thought it was a pretty decent series, not one of my very favourites but it was definitely fun to watch. Vecepia is a decent winner but I would’ve much rather the win had gone to Neleh, but she fluffed in the jury questions :(. I *might* watch Thailand next if I do decide to watch in order but I’ve never heard anything good about it so idk :joker:

I ended up going to Cagayan (which I’ve started before but never finished, it’s good though.) Honestly J’Tia might be the best (of the seasons I’ve seen) early boot so far :love: she was SOOOOOO bad at Survivor :love: but in the most loveable hilarious way. She literally sucked at every single challenge :love: she threw her tribes full rice supply on the fire and still somehow survived :love: she was awful at the social aspects of the game too lmfao. I wish she’d have stayed longer because she was brilliant TV, hopefully she will come back one day :fc:

I have FLOWN through this season, it’s been great though and definitely in my top five, if not top three of all the seasons I’ve watched. Tony, Kass and Woo being the final three too was perfect! Three of my very favourite contestants form the seasons I’ve seen so far but so many people were great this season. Woo taking Tony to F2 has to be one of the weirdest decisions ever made tho :joker: (but so on brand for Woo) I might watch Kaôh Rōng next as it’s BvBvB... or I might just struggle my way through Thailand, I’ll have to see :joker:

I’ve just got the final to watch tomorrow now, it’s not been nowhere near the best and probably is my second least favourite to date after One World but it’s not been as bad as my expectations. Still not great tho, maybe like a 4/10?

Yeah I always feel like it gets a bad rep but I get why it does if that makes sense? Lots of people say it’s their least favourite season ever (or second after RI), but while I definitely don’t think it’s great, I don’t think it’s bad either! I think it also helps that I really liked Clay, Helen and Jan and they made it to the final episode :laugh: I’d give it a 5/10, and in my season ranking I have it at the top of the seasons that are in orange

Also, Amazon is a fantastic season if you’re going in chronological order and watching it next :clap1:

I love Jan (and Helen has her moments but I just can’t fully like her idk why) so maybe that has helped a little. Besides Shii-Ann/Ghandia/Jan though I’ve found the cast pretty uninspiring (Ken and Helen will probably be light green in my end of series rankings).

Yeah Thailand is a peak example of a season that was The Worst Ever at its time but has since been elevated to like...... slightly below mid-tier if not higher just because of how much the show has decomposed over the years. Also see: TAR8, BBUS4 (which I would both easily have in my top half now? :joker:)

So I’ve started BvsW, only because I like watching a more modern season after an old one but I’ll definitely be watching Amazon soon! I’m four episodes in and it’s been pretty great so far! Unfortunately (like many seasons tbh :() this season has definitely taken a turn post-merge. I just cannot fully back anybody left in the F7 (not including Tina/Vytas/Laura M currently on RI) atm, the last episode with Ciera’s dilemma about voting Laura out was sooooo dull.

Also this is the first season I’m watching with the RI twist and why the hell is it still a thing post-merge :skull: it was cute as a pre-merge thing but I just do not see why it’s still an aspect of the game at this point.

The final :skull:, it’s ruined this season in a respect for me cos way too much of the episode time focuses on the duels. We’ve had no rewards shown, not much interaction really to give us enough insight on different characters and no actual reward challenges :skull:. It’s sucked up way too much of the airtime, and I actually think I would’ve really enjoyed this season if it didn’t.

And ugh Probst literally has the worst ****ing opinions on everything :skull:

Finished Blood vs Water. Overall opinions on the season are a little varied, some episodes were great and others were really shoddy. I think RI definitely impacted the season narrative a lot and we could’ve had a really gripping season with some great characters and story arcs. Tyson dominated the game so I guess he deserved his win but idk, I wasn’t a fan in Tocantins or HvsV but this was best showing and I’m still not sold.

Okay so it may be a little premature to say The Amazon is my favourite (I’ve just finished the merge episode) but it’s been stellar so far. Christy/Deena/Heidi/Dave/Matthew/Rob are all great (everyone left brings something a little different to the table though that I like) characters and there’s not been a single dull episode. Just watched Heidi’s boot episode so onto the final next. It’s been a speculator season from start to finish, even things like Jenna vs Rob and Butch’s dry wood starting a fire have been a treat to watch :love: idk quite yet if it’s my very favourite, I’ll have to wait till I’ve watched the finale but it’s been really good.

I already know Jenna wins which is pretty good too as she’s my favourite of the four left.

Finished Amazon! Probably my favourite season I’ve seen so far, the cast was just so compelling and I don’t think there was a single dull moment. This was old school survivor at its very best, there was strategy but it didn’t oversaturate the season and we had a lot of character building storylines too. Jenna is an amazing winner too :love:

JoAnna: As far a Christy goes, she was a thorn in my flesh. Christy was very vocal about her disagreement of my not wanting to touch the idol. She also held me personally responsible for the girls isolating her from the tribe... If you were listening to what I was saying, in addition to what I was doing, you would have understood from the episode – but then of course this would mean you actually wanted to understand??? –anyhow, there were several occasions that I was talking to Jeanne and Christy came and stuck her entire face between us and right in my face. My solution to this problem was to invite her face out of mine with my hand. The clip you see, the issue is being laid on the table because Christy is still talking about the idol, my stupidity (as if) and me putting my hand in her face. Outdone, I finally approached her and I reminded her that we agreed that she was going to let it go. It amazes me that you never see Christy harassing me????? But I guess it wouldn't have mattered because it would have been OK because she fell into a minority with her hearing – well I fell into several minorities – Christian, Strong, only single-parent, the sudden death of my mother DOROTHY VASSELL, but there was no pity for me – oh I forgot – I don't need pity. By the way did you notice above all else that Christy did not vote against me after I allegedly "went off on her." Makes you wonder??? Nobody voted against me at all that episode??? Then, when the did vote me off, I wasn't because of my faith, going off on people, mean, or rude??? Hmmm... I was just too strong… SPIRITUALLY, MENTALLY, and PHYSICALLY. Or maybe they just lied on national TV and said that I was just plain better – it amazes me how others try to formulate so many other reasons – I am a Mighty Woman of God. Come correct or don't come at all. It is hard to argue with absolute truth supported by evidence. Try something else – next. [RNO Note: While we obviously weren’t there, it does seem that perhaps Christy might have needed to “stick her face” in as reading lips is the only way she can understand what others are saying.]

RNO: We have seen Heidi and the other younger women talking to the cameras about being cute and all that – did they say something out in the open that caused you to lecture the younger women on beauty being only skin deep?

I will say even the cast suck I don’t mind this season half as much as I thought I would based off general opinion. The pre-merge was oddly the worst part of the season (whereas usually I think in most seasons it’s the better) but the post-merge has been pretty great. Finished WA. I actually quite liked it in an odd way (which I’ve gathered isn’t a popular opinion on here :laugh:). It’s plagued by some nasty characters (particularly the gross bottom three) but the drama somehow kept it alive and Shirin and Mike were great underdogs (Shirin’s jury speech :love:). It definitely picked up the pace and some decent storylines post-merge too, I’d probably rank it between Mils vs Gen-X and BvsW I think (based off rankings in my OP)

Jenn can be a little cringe sometimes (see: her speech, some of her confessionals) but I think her heart is in the right place which is something for a castaway in the WA cast! :laugh:

So I’ve recently just had a week or so break from the show, it was just getting a little tiresome but I decided to watch the next episode of AS’ tonight and it was the Hatch boot episode. I haven’t seen Sue’s quit episode yet but I’m aware of what goes down.

The situation was handled appallingly by the show :skull: it’s just pretty much brushed over that episode as nothing and it’s really not a good look! It’s a shame because Hatch was actually my fave up until that point :skull: but yeah that was just gross and uncomfortable viewing

Christ Boston Rob SUCKS again and the showmance between him and Amber is neither cute nor endearing. She is literally void of personality and he’s just not a very nice person.

Finished All-Stars. I have mixed opinions on the season, it’s not one of the best by a long shout and some of the episodes were a chore to get through but overall I actually liked the cast on the whole. Rob proposing to Amber at the reunion before the votes were read :umm2: and Jeff all like ‘no offence to the seventeen other tribe mates but this was Rob’s season!!!!!’ (why does he have such a hard on for him?). Probably the most bitter jury of all time too lmao what a mess. Alicia, Lex and Tom came across horribly.

I started Kaoh Rong next as I’ll probably just continue my old season/new season watch order (it keeps it feeling refreshing I think because old school survivor and new school are so different.) I watched the first four episodes back in 2016 when it aired and Alecia was the delightful underdog I remembered loving at the time :love: ‘we’ve got an embryo’, ‘I’m a mental giant’, when she stood not even picking up any puzzle pieces in a challenge, when she was literally running after Jason for the idol :love::love::love:

I REALLY hope she plays again some day, they need a pre-merge boot series for all the forgotten faves like J’Tia, Alecia and Ghandia !

Down to F7 with the Scot boot episode airing last. I’ve got to say I’ve found this season a little overrated so far tbh. It’s been decent but I certainly don’t think it’s one of the best ever, I’d probably rank it in between HvsV and Marquesas atm out of the seasons I’ve seen.

Aubry is my favourite by far but I do really like Cydney too. Joe and Michele have their moments but they’re too UTR (Michele has a bizarre edit for a winner) and I think Tai is vastly overrated, but I do kind of like him.

I think Debbie was really overrated too, sorry! She had her moments but nowhere near the legend she’s hyped up to be.

It’s okay atm, nothing stellar but not too bad. I’m aware of just how much airtime Russell sucks up in this season and it’s evident already. Half of the cast feel like they’ve been shown for less than five minutes and I’m onto the sixth episode :skull:

Samoa is a really weird season and it’s a shame Russell sucks up so much airtime because the potential is there for it to be a decent season. Shambo is fantastic though and I’m glad you’re enjoying her :love:

Yeah the season would be nothing without Twila, Ami and Eliza (I actually think Scout is a little overrated and boring at times :worry: but she’s cooky enough and does have some good moments) but those three are all so compelling to watch and the fact that Eliza and Twila somehow make the final?!?! :love:

She's sooooooo slimy and fake and calculated but I'm enamored at how someone who literally has noting to contribute managed to ascend to the power position at Yasur, mainly through metaphors that were really just insults directed at the younger women :love: It's ironic love because she's so blatantly an awful person, but it also ~completes the image~ when you learn that her real name is actually Janet Spencer and she's a huge ****ing fraud :joker:

It is a slog but I think Shambo’s antics is enough to keep the season slightly above red-tier :love: Other than that it’s pretty slim pickings as far as good moments go because the season is so Russell-focused. Still worth finishing for completion purposes though

Started my watch again this week and picked up with Palau. Overall, a pretty boring season but not as bad as some of the others. Ulong’s story arc was enthralling to watch but other than that I found the cast pretty uninspiring (a lot of the good people pre-merge went before they reached potential :sad:) and a lot of the episodes boring to watch. I am excited to watch Guatemala next to continue BJ and Steph’s journeys though

Binged Guatemala straight after and I much preferred it to Palau. Bobby Jon and Steph both have more interesting story arcs (as much as I did slowly start to go off Steph as the series went on) and there’s a lot more drama to get sunk into. Both pre-merge and post-merge have some really good episodes but Bobby Jon v Jamie was the stand out storyline. :flutter:

Finished Panama. Overall, an amazing season and pushes itself into my top five alongside SJDS, Gabon, Amazon and Cagayan. Casaya are my fave tribe of all time and my top five all making final six made the series so good. LOATHED Terry Deitz so him making F3 puts a *tiny* sour edge on it but it was good to have a hate figure too. Every episode was great but the finale dragged a little being an hour and a half with just three contestants after the first five mins.

Aw man I'm the exact same as you, I quit for a few years or so or whatever, I can't even remember haha I just know I quit for a bit. Like it's you said it got very repetitive especially some of those earlier seasons but honestly it gets waaaay better later. To the point of where I didn't watch anything else for a while. I went though season after season for a while.

Finished China! A really good season, not as good as Panama but still very good. Some of the episodes are thrilling like James’ elimination and Jaime’s fake idol play but others are bit too predictable for me. The cast didn’t quite hit it for me like Panama too but the storyline carried it well. The final tribal council was great too, idk why but I just really enjoyed all of it :love: Courtney’s quick answers to people like Jean-Robert, Amanda stuttering over her words and giving ‘doe-eyes’ as Peih-Gee put it and Jaime’s on the spot questioning. :love:

Finished Cook Islands. Rushed through it as soon as possible to get it over with. Deffo contender for my least fave along with One World. This was more boring but the cast were more vile in OW so it’s a toss up. The edit focused way too heavily on few people (Jonathan to name mainly) and the Aitu Four alliance were deathly boring. Even people like Parvati and Candice who are in my top three hardly set the series alight but at least they redeemed themselves in future appearances. Yul being considered one of the best players ever too… don’t make me larf. Was given an insane amount of power that he dangled in everyone’s faces. Fook off robot.

So I gave up on watching in order because where’s the fun in it?! So I’ve just finished Nicaragua tonight. Overall, a decent season but not one of my favourites. There is plenty of drama that keeps the season going from the pre-merge to post-merge and some episodes like the double quit and Jane’s boot are legendary but idk the cast was just lacking a little for me and the editing was too all over the place. It definitely gets too much hate from the casual fans though and is a lot more fun compared to some of the strategy-bore seasons like Cook Islands.

Just finished Fiji tonight. Overall, I think it’s overly hated by the fans - not one of the best by a long shout but perfectly fine and just about average for me. The pre-merge is better than post-merge and the have/have-not twist is really unfair in hindsight but it still maintains itself. The cast isn’t enthralling to watch but the core alliance are all very likeable and it’s better than watching say Palau or Cook Islands where the crappy people make it towards the end. Stand out moments mainly where the Edgardo boot ep and the final with Dreamz’ dilemma.

Watched Philippines this week and it was actually pretty good but for one reason only: Abi Maz :love:. I think a lot of the best people went early on and left us with quite a few bores swarming round in the merge, luckily Abi had an amazing run of eps towards the end and cemented it as a decent season overall. The core alliance who stormed were so boring.

Finished SoPa. It had its peaks and troughs and overall it was a just about average season of Survivor I’d say. I actually think it could’ve been a very good season if the focus wasn’t so centred Cochran all the time. For example, Sophie’s winner arc in the final episode that sees her realising she comes across of as a brat would’ve made way more sense if we actually saw any of it. I didn’t loathe Cochran but the way he was the focal point of EVERY SINGLE EPISODE till he finally went at F7 grated so much. Brandon was the stand out and fascinating to watch but there was a lot of cute hag girlies too :love:
