Malta is my favourite song this year I think! I'm glad too, been there many times it's like my second home would love them to do well!

thank you, and for me i thought she looked stunning, her dress is a long coat with digital projections on it, something modern, but her hair was really stunning in the first rehearsal

more importantly she did sing great for a first rehearsal, and she's gonna get my vote definitely :)

some more technology, like holograms and projections this year, i like that, it's cool to have some modern stuff in a big show like eurovision :)

have you also seen Ira's rehearsal? her second rehearsal yesterday, she really slayed vocally :) along with Gabriela from Czech Republic and Iveta from Armenia

but from the big 5, only Joe and Jake went well also for me

yeah me too, vocally pure the best songs, and Ira doesn't need silly holograms or projections to lift her performance, she's vocally very good and her dress is now a black dress with gold glitter, and those gospel singers i like them as well :)

Gabriela has some good vocal control for her age, she's only 22 years old :)

With the televote. Jury voting is presented as it is yearly. All 43 before the top 10 are announced one by one. The other 16 just go up on the screen.

Are they still going to be going around every country for their televote results live or no? That's my fav bit :(

Braden
07-05-2016, 08:01 PM
Yes but they'll be giving the jury vote instead, and announcing which country got 12 points. 1-8 and 10 will be on the screen.

Then afterwards the televoting is applied.

Not the televotes. They're compiled all together. So effectively a country could get 0 jury votes but win the televote with like 320 points and that'd shoot them up into top 5.

Yes, I get why people are still upset that the Jury didn't agree with the Televoting last year. It happened in 2011 in Düsseldorf when the Televoting voted for Azerbaijan and the jury voted for Italy. People, please get over it. It happened a year ago and 5 years ago; just look on the bright side and have a good time watching the Eurovision Song Contest with Scott Mills, Mel Giedroyc, Sarah Dawn Finer, and Grahame Norton as your commentators for the semi-finals (tonight and Thursday), and the grand final (Saturday) respectively.

I honestly don't think placements have too much of an effect on the outcome. People have won in all sorts of positions. I was a little gutted we were second to last because I do agree that by the end people already have their favourites and tend not to care, but Dima Bilan won performing second to last in 2008 (not implying the UK will win bye, I don't think we will).

The song and performance is fundamentally what influences the result.
