Boys

Jack: I didn't mind this performance but it wasn't your best, Nicky if you didn't like it, why did you pick this song? I thought it was alright but you need to do something completely unique next time to get any further

Luke: it was one of my favourites by you. I like this song and it suited your rock edge. Great job

Overs

Tyler: I'm sorry but it was far to safe, I told you to take a risk and this wasn't it, it was forgettable and far from original

Sarah: your best performance to date you really suit the 80s. Your really improving in this show I hope you are still in next week

Groups:

Reggie n Bollie: good song choice. Dance moves were great, I agree you need to work on the vocals but you guys are good at what you do

Little mix: that was a pile of babybels on a cloud of candy floss, cheesy and far too sweet and I didn't like it... I LOVED IT! But I want your sass to come back next week what you did at the Brits was exceptional please bring that to the show

My girls

Cher: well it paid off in the end to change the song choice. Your nerves did show and there were a few pitch problems but your rapping and dancing were on point and I think you deserve to stay

Alex: I was nervous about picking a mashup but I feel it's your best performance to date and honestly could be a number 1 record. Standing ovation

Amelia: yes yes yes yes!!!!! Brilliant!!

Janet: well done Janet you delivered the best performance you have given so far, your dancing was actually quite good so you needn't be nervous, you looked like you were having fun and I detected a country twang to your voice this week so that's interesting, I'd quite like you to perform a duet with Tyler actually that would be cool

Duets:

Janet and Amelia: well done girls great song great harmonies great performance
Tyler and Sarah: Sarah good job, Tyler that didn't suit your voice in sorry
Alexandra and Cher: I disagree Nicky I think you both were really good! It was a powerful sing off
Tyler, Sarah and Jack: love this song and I loved that performance you all mixed really well and it was interesting
Girls: you all really stood out and I don't want to lose any of you this week

All Tyler needs to do is sing something that isn't country like a popular Motown song and just make it his own. That makes him original. Him singing a song by another country singer makes him look like a tribute

Reggie N Bollie with the song Thriller by Michael Jackson

I'm afraid that these boy's infectious 'feel good' personalities are far in advance of their singing voices, but they are entertaining visually. The problem which they have here though is that ANY copy of an iconic classic is always going to prompt comparisons with the original, and this choice is SOME big ask when it is Thriller by MJ.

All such a comparison does unfortunately, is highlight Reggie and Bollies' deficiencies.

Cher Lloyd with the song Just be Good to me by SOS Band

I'm in a minority who doesn't feel that CL is a strong singer, but she is good enough to get away with her performsance here. Not the greatest performance for me however.

Sarah Cassidy with the song Every Breath You Take by The Police

Give a beautiful song to a beautiful girl who has a beautiful voice, and we get a beautiful result. I agree with Nicky that she put her own stamp on this and it is one of my favourite performances.

Luke Friend with the song Sweet Child O'Mine by Guns N Roses

It was a pleasant performance, but I cannot escape the feeling that Luke is slightly out of his comfort zone with this song and struggled to really interpret it by putting his own spin on it.

Little Mix with the song Heaven is a place on Earth by Belinda Carlisle

One of the most successful current girls group singing one of the most memorable commercial hits of the 80's by an ex-member of an highly successful girl group of that era, and the result is pure pop dynamite.

Amelia Lily with the song Call Me by Blondie

Debby Harry slayed me in the 70's and 80's, and Amelia Lily slays me now. THIS is THE performance of the night for me, and both Amelia and the song choice are beyond criticism. Perfect matching. I could see Richard Gere in 'American Gigolo' as I listened.

Janet Devlin with the song Let's Hear it for the boys by Deniece Williams

I love this song and Janet nails it perfectly - making it her own without destroying the essence of the original.

Jack Walton with the song Gold by Spandau Ballet

I like Jack, but this is not an easy song choice for him and I think he 'went through the motions' with his performance of it - as if he did not really care enough for the song. Not one of his better performances.

Alexandra Burke with the song mashup of Like a Prayer and Take me to Church by Madonna&Hozier

Alex is such a polished professional now and always seems to deliver a solid performance. I love this.

Tyler Hudson with the song When you say nothing at all by Keith Whitley

Tyler delivered the emotionally charged performance which this classic demands, but I did not enjoy it as much as I know I should have. I don't know if the reason is that the song has been 'covered to death' - which isn't Tyler's fault - but it just did not grab me like some of the others have.

First duet of the night, Amelia Lily and Janet Devlin with the song Don't you forget about me by Simple Minds.

Their voices melded beautifully, but I am such an Amelia Lily fan, that virtually ANYONE singing a duet with her her is going to be eclipsed visually and vocally - in my opinion.

Still, a really brilliantly enjoyable duet and I forgive Janet's slight struggle for prominence.

Tyler Hudson and Sarah Cassidy with the song Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush

Anything by Kate Bush is UP THERE and this classic song is no exception.

A great song choice for this duos voices which synched perfectly, and a great performance.

Third and final duet is Alexandra Burke and Cher Lloyd with the song Fame by Irene Cara.

I think Cher'sweaker voice and much more limited range is the reason why this duet did not quite come off. I have to say that of all Jake's girls, Cher is the one who is most legitimately labelled as a 'One Trick Pony' and outside of her own 'bag' she struggles - especially when paired with more powerful singers.

First group performance is Tyler Hudson and Sarah Cassidy and Jack Walton with the song Karma Chameleon by Culture Club

WOW - A homage to Boy George's classic which didn't mangle the melody out of all recognoition. I THOROUGHLY enjoyed this version and think it would be a massive hit if it was released as a single.

Second and final group performance, here are Amelia, Alexandra, Cher and Janet with the song What a Feeling by Flashdance ( Irene Cara)

The two powerful voices here manage to all but hide Cher's weaker voice and range, and all three pull this off. Such a seminal song doesn't harm their cause either. A really great coupling of singers to song.

My Vote:

1) Amelia Lily.
2) Little Mix
3) Sarah Cassidy
4) Alexandra Burke

Boys! Please do not listen to the judges calling you predictible, you are far from it and you know your audience and go all out to please them. This was a great performance from you and it had everyone on their feet!

Cher Lloyd
Cher, this was fine...but that was all it was, I think you are easily the weakest girl left and this was just bland.

Sarah Cassidy
Wow! This was utterly AMYmazing, I could tell you were in your element up there! fantastic song choice from Nicky.

Luke Friend
First of all I think the judging from Nicky is unfair, I pick out a song for Reggie & Bollie which is their style and it's called predicable and Luke you take a song that is probably out of your comfort zone and get told you need to stick with your acoustic sound...Luke you did fantastic babe!

Little Mix
:worship: :worship: :worship:

Amelia Lily
I think this song is way overdone and quite tired, so many girls on the X Factor sing it...I feel like it is a bit cliché. Nice vocals but not my cup of tea, sorry.

Janet Devlin
I really love this song and I like the version you went with, brilliant job!

Jack Walton
I disagree with the judges, I thought this was very solid and your vocals were on point! If anything the song probably let you down but I enjoyed this a lot!

Alexandra Burke
Not really fitting the brief this one, one song is modern so I'll leave the others to judge and move on.

Tyler Hudson
First of all I didn't mean to upset you last week, I think you are a good guy and very talented and I know you wanted to impress me this week so I feel awful now for saying I didn't like that performance. I LOVE it! utterly flawless from start to finish, well done Tyler

My Votes this week are for...

Sarah Cassidy

Luke Friend

Jack Walton

Reggie & Bollie
Boys! Please do not listen to the judges calling you predictible, you are far from it and you know your audience and go all out to please them. This was a great performance from you and it had everyone on their feet!

Cher Lloyd

Tyler was flawless according to Amy, and she gave him her vote along with Sarah

Don't get me wrong I like Tyler I just thought it was really safe and I wanted him to take a risk. Motown week is going to be his week, so I'm glad he's through along with Sarah

I think I have lost Cher now though I think all three of you are going to save Jack

I just don't know what song choices I'm supposed to pick for the girls to impress Amy, just gives me no clue what the girls should be doing to impress her

She said Cher couldn't hit the high notes, so I gave Cher more of a rap song

She said Alexandra did a safe boring overdone song, so I gave her a risky mashup

She said Amelia didn't do a great job of not one of the best Kelly Clarkson songs, so I gave her more of a rock song this time

As for Janet, I gave a her a dull inspiring song last week so this time I gave her an uptempo different song but she didn't give her a vote

then we will go to deadlock, and deadlock is based on the most public vote

Nicky: so Tyler you did great, and you did impress Amy Jade

Tyler: i'm really happy and next week motown, and nice song as well from Debarge, it's called Rhythm of the night

Nicky: hi girls Amelia, Janet and Cher, feeling nervous

Amelia: really confident about tonight

Janet: well my nerves are there tonight

Cher: i have to wait and see about the results

Nicky: and hi Jack, you did a song called gold by spandau ballet, do you think you can win gold

Jack: well i don't know, i'm quite middle of the road

01-03-2016, 03:13 PM
alright first reactions:

Cher Lloyd: really really gutted, i worked really hard this week to avoid the bottom 2, and i'm gonna fight to stay in

Jack Walton: maybe i'm not that popular, well i am just gonna sing the best i can, but i'm in the bottom 2 with a good friend of mine

Nicky91

alright singing first in the sing off, it's Cher Lloyd with the song Love the way you Lie by Eminem ft Rihanna

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xenwHeU4CaQ

Nicky's comment: Cher, if this was your performance this week, i would've voted for you to stay out of the sing off, damn i like this side of you

you are maybe not the vocally best singer of the competition, but i admire your fighting spirit

Nicky91
01-03-2016, 03:20 PM
wow, but next to sing for survival, it's Jack Walton with the song Who you Are by Jessie J

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86rgra3js5Y

Nicky's comment: where does this come from, Jack good performance and why is this sing off performance way better than those dull and bland songs you sing in the liveshows

:clap1: :clap1:

Nicky91
01-03-2016, 03:33 PM
well, a difficult decision for me,

Jack to start off with you, you are a talented singer, and i think Kirk could have some good songs for you to sing, but all you have shown us is Dull and bland performances, but the talent is right there with you

Cher, we have a love/hate relationship, the one time i like you, and the other time i love to hate you, you are a Rap Goddess :clap1: and you have quite a quirky and funny personality, and i admire your fighting spirit, but your vocals in the ballads isn't quite good, maybe you can work on that with Jake

my save me vote goes with to, Cher Lloyd :clap1: :clap1:

Here's my feedback first:

01 Cher Lloyd

I felt this song choice was the wrong one even before I heard the performance, and I am afraid I felt no differently after I heard it. I do think that out of all the performers Cher definitely is the more limited in range and style.

02 Luke Friend

I recall Luke singing the Ben E. King & The Drifters classic 'Stand By Me' in 2013 on the X-Factor and though he did struggle a little with that classic he had his moments, but the tempo of this Edwin Starr soul classic suited Luke's vocal ability more and I think he smashed this.

03 Tyler Hudson

Pleasantly surprised by Tyler's performance and vote this a great effort.

04 Amelia Lily

What can I say – Amelia really delivers no matter what song she sings.

05 Sarah Cassidy

A great performance. I enjoyed this.

06 Little Mix

Great song choice, and the girls are really polished now in every performance they deliver.

07 Reggie N Bollie

It's unfair to expect more from these fun guys than they are able to deliver, so no surprises, but still an upbeat, feel-good performance of a classic.

08 Janet Devlin

I did not enjoy this as much as I thought I would, but perhaps that's because I always expect more from Janet – as though she is still not giving it everything.

09 Alexandra Burke

Another highly professional performance and 100% soul and emotion from a real Star.

And my VOTE:

1) Amelia Lily
2) Luke Friend
3)Little Mix
4) Alexandra Burke.

Firstly well done to all the acts you were all exceptional again...

Firstly the girls

Alexandra

This was bound to be your week your so soulful. As Nicky says your a diva and I can see the potential in you. I want you to reach the final you really deserve it

Amelia

This week I wanted to show a different side to you, a more soulful side, and you my dear rose to the challenge, that was honestly exceptional

Cher

I fear I may have given you the wrong song, but I really liked your version of it, I so badly want you to avoid the sing off this time, I'm not sure why your not receiving votes because I believe your a star

Janet

I loved that I really did. You really suit this kind of music. To be honest Janet you have shown your versatility the past number of weeks and Nicky says you deserve to be in the top 5 but I can see you being in that top 2

The last remaining boy

Luke

Kirk has given you a brilliant song and another Edwin Starr song is called war, well you definitely just made this a battle! I think I could see you reaching that final

The groups

Little mix
Ok girls I enjoyed it I always enjoy watching you but I want to see the sassy side of you I think it was slightly on the dull side but you will be safe

Reggie n Bollie
Really good guys, I hope Nicky saw what he wanted to see, it was a more soulful performance and you showed your vocals off. I think that could be one of your best performances

The overs

Tyler
Thankyou Tyler! You finally did it! You impressed me! Thankyou for taking on my advice and it really paid off. Well done Tyler

Sarah
I think it was a good song choice for you and it was enjoyable but will it be enough for people to vote for you, we shall see

As for all the duets etc you all did such a good job and your all emerging as stars

Cher Lloyd
I agree with the other judges this wasn't the song for you, I think you needed something special this week to rebound after being in the sing off, I feel this is actually your weakest week and you are in real danger.

Luke Friend
Fabulous song choice from Kirk, I think you have a very unique tone to your voice that fits wonderfully with this song. Brilliant job Kirk and Luke.

Little Mix
I felt it was time to give the girls a bit of a ballad type song but wanted to keep it as a happy tone, I struggled this week picking songs for you as there wasn't much to choose from but I don't regret picking this song for you I think you did outstandingly!

Tyler Hudson
Tyler...that was amazing! I will admit at first I thought you wouldn't be my cup of tea but week after week you wow me!

Amelia Lily
I absolutely hate this song, I find it insanely dull and you singing it didn't change my opinion at all...sorry.

Janet Devlin
Janet I was worried to see you have a song change, I think it's risky to have people look forward to your 1st choice only to go another way...However...This was fantastic, your voice with this song gave me chills! Nailed it.

Reggie & Bollie
I am so glad people have voted for you this week! I think picking fun songs is the way forward to get the voters dancing. Well done R&B :clap1:

Sarah Cassidy

Tyler: Amelia is really amazing, i would buy her album anytime, flawless performer, and i really hope to compete against her in the final

Nicky: wow Tyler good to hear your ambition in this competition, and we head to Cher Lloyd, are you nervous for the results

Cher: well last week i was in the sing off, i'm expecting to be there again and then we'll see if i stay

Nicky: okay, Cher good luck and we head to Amelia, you nailed a soul song

but Tyler, has also an amazing song in the sing off, and he's got a lot of ambition, and i want him in next week, because i got a really great R&B song which he could smash.

Nicky's comment: Cher you are in this position again, and now you're up against a better singer and performer

this song was good, but i'm getting the one trick pony with you, your rapping is amazing, but if you sing anything other than hip hop, it's horrible

well i hate that i've been Always negative about you, but it's your time to go

Having listened to both 'save me' songs (I listened to the Today version of sirens, Jake) and I think both were fantastic but based purely on those performances I am going to save...

Cher

Sirens is my favourite song by her and that performance was faultless. Sorry, Tyler.

what, i'm gutted for Tyler

well Jake, but you gotta admit, Tyler is the better singer

so Kirk, i'm willing to fight for Tyler, he's a good singer and i enjoy choosing songs for him, and this week i took a risk for him, and he smashed it

please Kirk save Tyler, he's a good singer and he has more to give in this competition

Nicky91
08-03-2016, 02:12 PM
i'm gonna talk to our both sing off contestants

Nicky: Tyler you are in danger of leaving the competition

Tyler: well i don't know what more i could've done to impress the judges, and Amy, it doesn't matter Cher performed that really with emotions, i think one of Jake's girls could win it this series

Nicky: Cher, that performance was so good, it had me to tears

Cher: you know who i am a fighter, and i hate being here against Tyler, he's a very good country singer

Nicky: back to you Tyler, if you leave what is your highlight of the series

Tyler: singing with Amelia, I Loved that

Nicky: same to you cher, if you leave what is your highlight of the series

Cher: working with my mentor, Jake he has Always believed in my quality

Amy Jade
08-03-2016, 02:18 PM
My pick was based purely on the sing off, I think Cher sang Sirens amazingly in that clip and the emotion just really connected with me.

Strictly Jake

I'm sad to see anyone leave at this point

Tyler you are an amazing country singer you are great at what you do and I'm glad I helped you take on a challenge, for me you gave it your best this week

Cher, I have struggled picking the right songs for you sometimes but you are such a star, you can sing you showed that in your save me performance , you can rap, you can dance, you can perform and your so cheeky and loveable we need a star like you

Based on this being the X factor and not the voice, Cher should stay

It's RnB week next week and Cher will own it trust me

Strictly Jake
08-03-2016, 02:58 PM
Nicky or Amy could you please post that video of Cher up on here so others can see it. U don't know how to. Thanks lovelies

and Tyler has really come far, i'm proud at him for making the top 9

and Cher if you stay for next week, then Jake i hope you come with a song she'll own and something i like

your girls are also a bit my acts :)

I am voting to save Tyler. I beleive that outside her own very limited 'bag', Cher is a 'one trick pony' and Tyler is the much better, more versatile singer. Sorry.

I can't believe Tyler has been called more versatile than Cher! Pah!

Devastated she is going

Cher I really believe in you and I will continue working with you outside this show your amazing so never give up

Strictly Jake
08-03-2016, 08:41 PM
Erm actually that's true Nicky you said ammi would be a guest mentor this week and can give a vote. So ammi do you want to save Cher? Because I forgot your supposed to be doing this

Amy Jade
08-03-2016, 09:20 PM
This is confusing haha

Strictly Jake
08-03-2016, 09:52 PM
Well I thought cos Kirk saved Tyler it goes to deadlock, Tyler got more public votes so would be safe, however ammi was supposed to be a guest mentor which I assume she gets to vote aswell who stays, she thought she missed the vote but I don't think the votes closed yet

Nicky91
09-03-2016, 07:18 AM
alright, it goes to deadlock with 2 votes each

the act surviving to fight another week is with only 1 vote difference is........

Tyler Hudson, i'm so relieved thank you for your vote Kirk, you won't regret this decision :cheer2:

Cher: Amelia, she has got the whole package, good singer and performer

Nicky91
09-03-2016, 07:26 AM
okay, sorry for you Jake seeing your star Cher leave, but it was a hard decision

it were 2 good performers in the sing off

Jake, keep your head up because you still have 3 awesome acts, i think Janet is slowly getting there as a contender, and Amelia for next week i want you to give us that wow factor again with Amelia

Kirk, Tyler won't let you down for next week, i got a cool Rihanna song for him for next week

but i'm gutted for Cher, that was her best performance in the sing off, if she wasn't against one of my acts i would've voted to save her

Cher, keep on singing, because you sing and rap with passion and emotion

:clap1: :clap1: :clap1:

Nicky91
09-03-2016, 08:25 AM

Strictly Jake
10-03-2016, 11:19 AM
I think you have picked good choices Nicky, neither of the songs are safe so I'm glad you have been a bit riskier

I like Tyler's choice, I was hoping that you would pick stay by Rihanna, but still a good choice

Sarah's song is very challenging but I think she will do well

I'm looking forward to seeing what Amy picks!

As for little mix that performance was the favourite of mine that they did in the live shows so they definitely get my vote!!

Nicky91

news update

Tyler will be singing acoustic, with his Lucky guitar, and in rehearsals i got goosebumps from his performance of disturbia

Sarah has got advice from Beyonce how to perform Halo, and she wants to add her own style in to it

Tyler and Sarah will be singing Timber together, well in rehearsals it goes perfectly together, Tyler who also will be playing the guitar in their duet

Yeah I've seen it

huh, you aren't a criminal, why are you going to prison, to visit someone?

and i've changed my mind, not next week a double elimination but with the top 6, and then we have the semi finals with our top 4, making a final 3

Strictly Jake

and i really like this series

Tyler has received support from Cher Lloyd, so she's rooting for him to make it to the finals

Sarah really feels the nerves taking on a big Beyonce song, but i hope she can control the nerves, fingers crossed

Nicky91

Nicky91
12-03-2016, 11:10 AM
first up, it's Tyler Hudson with the song Disturbia by Rihanna

background: well Tyler came into the sing off, and his coach thought he was going home, but felt really relieved that Tyler could really sing this song for R&B classics, in rehearsals he got support from Cher Lloyd, come on let's do this for Cher

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ic8Lgtrpl0

Nicky's comment: omg i'm getting emotional after this performance, you are really talented and you are such a down to earth personality, this was flawless :clap1: :clap1: i'm proud to be your mentor

Nicky91
12-03-2016, 11:13 AM
next up, it's Reggie N Bollie with the song I'll make love to you by Boyz II Men

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Y6pVnRBeMU

Nicky's comment: i first must compliment Amy for choosing this song, this song proved that you guys can not only sing novelty songs, but also nice ballads, and your vocal performance was great :)

Nicky91
12-03-2016, 11:15 AM
up next, it's Amelia Lily with her song Sweet Dreams by Beyonce

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlxByc0-V40

Nicky's comment: well Tyler was already a fan of you, and now i'm a bigger fan of you, this was a technically difficult song for you to sing, but you absolutely nailed it Bravo :clap1: :clap1:

Nicky91
12-03-2016, 11:18 AM
up next, it's Luke Friend with the song Back at One by Brian McKnight

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXPfovXw2tw

Nicky's comment: Luke, you are unique and your guitar performance is Iconic, but i feel positive and negative about this performance, good song choice Kirk, but it was a little too safe for my taste

look I challenged Tyler to sing Disturbia, and make it his own which he did

but you Luke, just sang this song the same as the Original, but that's my personal taste
