I reckon it's a pre-planned decision dressed up as a random event. Big Brother can do that sort of thing, remember. Make someone king of the house on a whim, give them a secret task etc. It's no different really.

That is true, it did smell pretty bad especially too as hers was the last to to be revealed too.
If they were able to control the popping up, who knows really.

As to the other point above in a post too, interesting the last 2 to go were Stephanies and Gemmas Stephanie had turned that handle far more and faster than Gemma had hers.

It would only happen to the ones producers don't want to lose and is possible to be evicted(Gemma isn't in danger to be evicted anytime soon) It's not a fix at all, it was all luck.
