If we're talking about them as artists, personally I think Britney is the more successful one overall. Britney is imo the better all-round popstar, but Christina is more talented. And in terms of recent success, I'd say that neither of them are too relevant to the current industry but Britney probably has the better chance of a comeback because she's seen as more of a 'legend' and has a stronger fanbase.
Just looking at those two songs though I think Christina wins hands down. Not just because I think it's a better song, but because it was the one that made her. Before Dirrty she was just another 'teen pop princess' which there were loads of at that time and she was easily interchangeable with the likes of Jessica Simpson/Mandy Moore etc etc (who were all basically being marketed as the new Britney/cashing in on the success of Britney's teen era). But Dirrty/Stripped established her and she was huge at that time. Britney was already established when Slave came out so although it worked in a small way to bring her some controversy, it didn't have the same level of impact on her career as Dirrty did for Christina (if anything, people were starting to lose interest in Britney, her album that came out on the back of Slave sold about half of what her previous album sold and outside of her core fan base, people didn't really care about her as much). And because Britney had worked so hard trying to create the perfect princess virgin image leading up to Slave, it just didn't seem believable as an image for her, and a bit desperate, whereas it was kind of the opposite for Christina. It was like Britney was a good girl who was pretending to be bad, whereas Christina was a bad girl who before Dirrty had been pretending to be good, which made Christina look more interesting, it was like 'Wow ok, THIS is who Christina is' and the media loved her, whereas Britney's popularity was waning a bit and she just looked kinda fake.
Anyway my point is that regardless of their successes since and them being looked at differently in retrospect, 'Dirrty' was a career defining song for Christina at the time and was the one that made people pay attention to her (if anything it should be compared to 'Baby One More Time') and 'Slave' had nowhere near the same kind of impact for Britney. Obviously it'll be looked at differently by the hardcore fanbases but that's how I remember it at the time, not being a massive fan of either of them.

I think it's fair to say as well Christina seems to be more appreciated in the UK and Britney is more appreciated in the U.S. I'm American and I actually grew up in the same area that Christina lived in Pittsburgh, I remember my Kindergarden teacher showing me her picture in a yearbook (I was a fan of hers as well at that age). Word of mouth was that she was described as arrogant by her peers and she smelled of hot dogs. I'm sure jealousy played a role but Christina has never come across as humble or kind to me based on comments she's made about other artists, including Britney.
