I'm predicting CBB will last slightly longer than BB but I'm confident the BB format will still be there in some way by the 2020s. I'll also put in how long X Factor, IAC and BGT will be lasting as well ;)
BB: 2020
CBB: 2022/23
X Factor: 2018 (revived)
IAC: late 20's
BGT: 2030s or later

Not BGT until 2030.

It will go on forever!

At a push I can see Big Brother lasting until around 2020 if we're lucky - but Celebrity Big Brother a few years later.

If BB is axed before CBB, that would be weird just having CBB on its own as it's always been the side show (well not anymore but BB is still the main thing).
And I can see C5 renewing their current 2018 contract sometime soon for another two years taking it up to 2020. That house extension we're getting hints that it's going to be around for a little while longer cause I don't see why they would waste money extending the house just for another two years.
2020 for civilian.
Maybe like 2025 for celebrity? Idk

Maybe 2020 maximum
The ratings last summer were pretty dire

If they somehow successfully relaunch civilian Big Brother this summer, I can see them dropping the summer CBB with the next contract renewal and them both lasting at least another 5-7 years.
However, if they somehow make the civilian series worse I can see them either giving an all-stars series a go or just shortening the civilian run/airing an international BB in it's place and extending the summer CBB with the next contract renewal and that sticking for 5-7 years. Then I reckon they'll finish it off with a full length all-stars series in the summer. I'd like to think that another broadcaster will pick it up but after the mess Channel 5 has made of the show it'd be lucky to air on ITVBe at this rate.

Extending the summer CBB would be vile. 4 weeks is too long imo, imagine having it even longer :omgno:

Why do any of you want them to end theirs nothing new coming along anyway
I can't see one going on without the other tbh. I think they have quite a long future on C5 tbh.
SCD is a show I think also has real longevity in it.

I agree with what Zak said - if they manage to successfully relaunch Big Brother the show will hopefully be given a new lease of life and enough to get the contract renewed. With the new construction work at the House it's clear Channel 5 and Viacom want the format around for quite a while yet. I think it would have to be something catastrophically bad either ratings wise or controversy wise for them to give it up. I can see C5 airing BB until it's getting 0.5 million on average.

10 September 2010
^^^ This 100% ^^^
The 10 September 2010 was when the REAL Big Brother format ended in the UK. What we have now is a cheap, nasty and vile TOWIE/EOTB version of the show. Watching BBCAN makes me sick to think they have the Big Brother format 1,000,000% perfect whereas Channel 5 couldn't even give us what they promised when they bought BBUK from Channel 4.

BGT and IAC can just die off. Oth overrated, trash, same thing every year and BGT is the utter cringe fest. Some of the acts make me want to physically deform myself.
Hate X Factor but it does make some stars... With Fleur being the most successful one currently and recently.

It'll be weird to that BB lasted longer on c5 than the 10 years when it was supposed to end on c4. I think we can all agree it's great that it was bought back though, even though it was **** for the first 2 years. But we'd have never seen CBB13, BB14, Gary Busey or Tiffany Pollard if it left in 2010.

A 20th Anniversary series might be quite fun to end it on.
