May wouldn't really be practical - the extension wouldn't be finished so soon, Emma is due to have her baby and ratings aren't great in May anyway.

You have to remember she needs time to have maternity then complete the pre-series stuff so advert, photoshoot, interviews etc so late May would be so stupid on C5's behalf.

In a perfect world giving the fact that Euro 2016 and the Olympics are taking place this Summer Channel 5 could be better launching BB17 on Tuesday 23 August to Friday 11 November (81 Days) dropping the Summer CBB and launching CBB18 on or around Thursday 5 January for between 31-42 days

Your suggestion is unrealistic. Big Brother will be on Channel 5 this summer and will launch in June, there's no way they'd wait until August to launch the show. They'd have nothing to fill the space Big Brother usually takes in June and July. The series should be just about finished when the Olympics take place. I can't see the games affecting Big Brother that much anyway because they're not in London and there isn't as much hype this year as there was in 2012.
