Do they normally have it fished by the start of the olympics or does the series still go on during the few weeks its on.

London 2012 affected BB13.

But the Olympics didn't affect BB9's ratings iirc.

Funnily enough I've just mentioned this on another thread and suggested that Channel 5 could be better launching BB17 on Tuesday 23 August to Friday 11 November (81 Days) dropping the Summer CBB and launching CBB18 on or around Thursday 5 January for between 31-42 days.

This way BB17 will not be affected by Rio 2016 and Euro 2016.

I think you'll have to take time differences into consideration, plus 2012 would have had more of an effect bc it was local

BB13 affected it because it was based in London, therefore the peak events were put on at peak times. Plus the opening/closing ceremonies clashed with the evictions.

I think Brazil is 3 hours behind us, so it might cause some problems but not as much as London did. China is hours behind us I think so BB9 was fine.

It won't have as big of an effect as London 2012 did on BB13 but it will reduce the figures yes

Rio is 4 hours behind us so a lot of the finals will be on at like 2am our time, so it shouldn't affect BB as much as London did

There's no reason to let BB be affected by the Olympics. BB viewers are the type that either watch or don't regardless.

Unless C5 are actually covering the Olympics they shouldn't change their schedule.

It may decrease a bit but BB13 was on during the London ones. Outside of that the Olympics haven't even done that great. Also it's in Rio this year and that means the big events won't even clash with primetime scheduling.

The Olympics/Football World cup/European championships have been happening throughout the life of BBUK and some of its best viewing figures in its history have come during series when their are major sporting events so its not right to try and use that as an excuse for crap viewing figures.

Good show = Good viewing figures.
Crap show = Crap viewing figures.

No excuses
