Simon going on the first night last year wasn't really a true eviction because being evicted through no public vote allowed him to be reinstated a few weeks later. Could a launch night eviction with the public voting this time and that defeated housemate not coming back at all be something worth trying?

What's the point you're voting someone out based off of their VT basically

It only would have worked last year

Unless they do a timebomb and reveal the housemates before they come in, but reveal a tad bit more to contribute to your opinion of them instead of just a VT

Simon would have gone anyway even if the public had been involved.

No it puts a damper on the launch imo.

No it would totally ruin the launch feel and it's absolutely terrible for anybody involved to be evicted on the first night, even if they turn out to be my most loathed housemate of the series.

Exactly. A launch is meant to be positive and exciting, an eviction just puts a negative and bitter spin on it.

I personally would love a Day 1 eviction where whoever is evicted stays evicted and does not return.

It would be doable if BBUK release the housemates names, bio's and profile VT's about 7-10 days before launch (with HM's in hiding at this point btw) and opened in-app voting for us to decide which 2 housemates we didn't like based on our first impressions. Then on launch night after all housemates have entered the 2 that we have chose to nominate are announced to the house and the rest of the group decide one by one who to evict.

People will disagree with me but aren't BBUK and Channel 5 always saying they want "new" and "never been done before" things to do, this is sure one of them.

100% against the idea and think having an eviction after one week is bad enough.

Last thing we need is another TWIST.

Why cant we have proper lauch night and a proper series with little twists and a dynamic diverse cast? I think this is the only thing we need.

No that's as bad an idea as giving someone a free pass to the final on the first night.

No. I hate the fact they even do it after a week.

The reason I love BB5 so much is because the actual first person evicted was like 4 weeks in due to the Kitten ejection in W1, Bedsit in W2 and Fight Night in Week 3.
