Rylan Clark-Neal has said Big Brother 2016 will feature the “most mixed” housemate selection the show’s had in “a while” and teased the new studio set for Bit On The Side – while backing a return of the live feed.

The presenter revealed more about the new series in a Q&A session with fans on Facebook today.

When asked about the housemates, he claimed: “Actually, this year is probably the most mixed we’ve had in a long while. Different races, genders, sexualities, age, everything. I know I say it every year, and some years we haven’t got it right, but this year is completely right. It’s gonna be amazing.”

I'll hold judgement until launch night when they're all in the house :p

I like his honesty about how some years they haven't got it right (BB15 and BB16). They did get it right with BB13 and BB14 - as both series' did fine without the need for additional cast members after the original cast.

I actually believe him this time round. When people bring up how they've got it wrong before and admit to it being different this time round then it usually is

I hope it's a bit more rounded and realistic (so like, with the gay housemates(s) they don't just go for the stereotype that seem obsessed with on reality shows, etc).

I actually didn't think BB16's cast was that bad/un-diverse. It was way better than BB15's cast.

Although honestly, the BB16 female casting was really good. It's a shame that they were the ones who were culled when it was the men who needed culling. The cast was pretty good with loads of different backgrounds, the problem was that all the originals came into make friends and be a 'family'.

I really hope so

Hope he's right

I really liked BB16's cast though. :worry:

In my opinion - Adjoa, Amy & Sally, Harriet, Chloe, Jade, Sarah, Eileen and Arron were really good housemates. Kieron and Simon were decent too. It's just a shame that the rest of the cast (Joel, Danny, Jack, Nick and Christian) were the ones that were allowed to drift throughout the series to the end whilst if you notice all the good housemates besides Chloe and Jade went in the first 4 weeks of the show.

Remember when BB14 was hyped up pre-show for having "different age ranges" and it ended up just being Jackie and Jemima

Which is why I'm not expecting anything promising, hopefully I'll be proven wrong this time!

Is there anything left for Rylan to tease now? He's been doing it since January.

IA with this. They should cast someone because they'd make a great housemate not because they tick a certain box.

Yeah like with older housemates I want entertaining older housemates I just don't want a 43 year old woman being put in the house just so they can tick a certain box.

Remember in BB13 when they said they'd listened to the age range complaints and we got Victoria

She had so much potential tbf and she did show to be a good HM for the 3 days she was in there

She was just robbed becuse of a stupid Day 4 eviction.

I hate early evictons. All housemates should be given at least a week before the first eviction :fist:

They should model the cast on BB14 - it's not my favourite but the cast was easily the most diverse on C5 and it worked well

Take away Aaron and I'd agree
Im kinda surprised someone else liked BB16's cast (Obviously I'm not the only one, but yeah, it's an unspoken crowd), it's just that the bores of the season overtook everyone else and the good housemates got the early boot

I'm glad he's speaking up as a fan of Live Feed. He gets to see it whilst he's at work, of course.

It's good that they've got a mix of housemates but that alone doesn't guarantee it'll be "amazing".

When the 3/4 "biggest"/"most confrontational/"most argumentitive" go in the first few weeks, they need to have enough decent housemates to keep things going

I believe him, I hope it's true
