From the really small bits of the new exterior we have seen so far.. i feel like they have made it way too small and it looks really odd with that massive square screen?

Anyone got any better pictures?
What do you guys think?

I'd have any change of the exterior from having the same one for around 5 years

Oh good! I'm sure it will look great though when we see the overall finished product next week!

I loved the exterior we had for all of 5S run. The eye door was iconic, the rotating eye platform was fab.

I never got the obsession with wanting it to change

Pretty much this!

I've become so tired of the same design year after year - the change is more than welcomed!

Yes! Why couldn't they keep the iconic Eye Door and do something around that!!

The set looks brilliant so far tbh - the wrap around screen should look fantastic!

The old set looked okay in 2011, but it aged very quickly imo. Like, in 2013 you could see that there was a lot of dirt under the lights in the catwalk and under the stairs. Adding a background onto the eye stage also looked okay, but the entire thing just wasn't practical - the stands made it looked boxed in (it was literally tiny in real life) and the eye stage ruined most of the interviews because you could hear the crowd reaction in the background. The entire eviction set has been crying out for an overhaul for a long time now so I'm glad it's finally getting one!

tbh.

It looked good for the first two years as it was new, but they should've really changed the set for BB14 to go with the house overhaul they had for Secrets and Lies and Emma being the new host, it would've fitted perfectly yet alone keeping it for an extra 3 years.

That's the thing with most BB sets, they're only fresh for about a year or two. C4 changed theirs regularly so we didn't get bored looking at the same thing every year, but keeping it the same for 5 years is just too much.

although the old set looked the best during BB15/CBB15 so we wouldn't have had that if they changed it in 2013

Channel 4 never did any changes really all they had was the led screen on the house with the new graphics or move the stairs and the crowd space around.

When I first seen the new Channel 5 set including the eye and the rotating eye at the top of the stairs I have to admit I loved it BUT after being to so many eviction from Channel 4 and 5 days I remember the Roar of the crowd in BB11 I mean the audience was huge and poor housemates if they were booed becaused it sounded like a football stadium! Then I went to my first eviction on Channel 5's new set and was so underwhelmed it may have looked good but there was just not the same atmosphere it was way to small and now its even smaller eek!

Looking forward to seeing the new set up though I wish they had just gone back to the old school crowd and barriers and housemates walking at ground level through the fans not down the tiny catwalk.

Only 4 days!!!! :) I'm hoping we get pics before.

It was one for the first few series but i wouldn't call it iconic.

The atmosphere will be even more underwelming now that the eviction set is the smallest it's ever been.

I mean compare the first five years on C4 to the first five years on C5, you had the House in Bow, then the BB3/4 exterior, and then the BB5 exterior which was completely different and they changed massively again for BB6 the following year. It wasn't really till the BB7-BB10 days where it didn't change all that much bar the BB8 long walkway but even then those minor changes they made every year (like BB7's diagonal walkway or the oval podium in BB9/10) is more than what C5 had done to the old set.

The crowd for BB11 was no bigger than usual it was just distributed differently. 200 people can look like a huge crowd if they're all concentrated and grouped into 1 area. But if they're split up by walkways and lighting rigs etc it will tend to look more sparce

It's the interior that counts.

There wasn't a walkway for BB11 really it was all 1 big stage and the crowd were all on stands facing the house and trust me from experience the crowds chanting (eww) from then compared to when I went to the Channel 5 evictions....You cant compare it.

Also comparing the set up of the set to BB1 and BB3 and so on....They were 2 complete different locations so how can you compare that?

Personally I would love the house to go back to Bow with the house away from the crowd and studio and housemates leaving over the bridge :) #Legendary

If you look back I actually think BB1 and BB2 had the best set up it had such a great atmosphere and the finale stages where awesome.

When I went to Chris' eviction in BB13, walking in, the place looked all flashy and bright but the dirtiness of the place was unbelievable. This was only at the start of BB13 and they had barely had 2 series before it, so can't imagine what it looked like outside for CBB17!

Also, i was lucky Chris' eviction even watching on screen had an electric atmopshere and i felt it there, but yeah C5 crowds have never been huge.

I mean THESE are crowds...

It certainly was in Bow. Watching BB1 and BB2 final quickly now, it must have been around that. With Elstree though, even in those big BB3-5 crowds, they were probably around 500, than on C5 they were like 200-300, now, not sure, it could be as little as 50-80 with this new smaller crowd.

Also, it used to be 470? Didn't look like that! Jeez, the house in Bow must have held 2000!

It was mad lol it was like a ****ing Britney concert during series 1 and 2 that set up was awesome and yeah classic examples on those videos there back when the crowd and forum members didn't think housemates were pieces of **** and just boo for no reason

Proud to be a fan from day 1 ;)

i guess the main stage must be really small, just another thin walkway squashed right up to the edge of the house? it'll be a tight fit for the audience that's for sure, i wouldn't like to be there on a hot evening.

It was 1000 in BB11 then they brought in this huge set from Channel 5 and just over halved it and now its smaller THOUGH there does seem to be buildings around the studio which could hold a crowd but to me they need to be outside that's classic BB and I don't think any other country does it which is weird seeing as we have the worst weather in the world lol.
