If the hm8s have any sense they will not be arrogant and cocky in their VTS ,people remember them and 1st impressions are important I can tell 95% of the time who Im going to like on opening night from their vas

It depends imo

If somebody is cocky and claims they're this amazingly opinionated bitch who won't take no crap and then they get in and they're dull as a nuns sex life I feel a bit betrayed. I'd rather them be themselves or a slightly exaggerated version of themselves instead of flat out lying to then come and bore us.

Tamera is a good example of this.

I think the opposite tbh. You can have an awful VT where you come across like a dick and turn out to be liked (Dexter, Gina) or a good one and turn out to be a massive bore or twat (Bonnie, Wolfy)

Not really - Helen came off as quite nice in her VT and she was vile, likewise Chloe came across as bitchy and argumentative and she was nothing of the sort

Tbh I completely forget about their VTs...they are rarely what they make themselves out to be.
I just judge them in the house.

they all tend to big themselves up in the VT then they are like lambs in the house.

Lest we forget Tamara's VT

A lot of the time they are judged too soon like people going mental over certain housemates, making fan clubs and so on after a minute long vt then the person turns out to be a terrible housmate (ahem Pauline)

I watch for a few days at least before making a decision on a housemate and even then it's not final, I tend to change my mind quite a bit obviously depending on how they come across and react to different situations and so on

But we didn't know Ashleigh Coyle was a queen from her VT, for example.

So that was an honest VT then

I am not listening to the VT's as it will be all hot air just to get on the show - going to judge them on the game and how well they play it.

I don't judge anyone too harshly until I've seen how they interact with the rest of the housemates, thats when I can tell if I'll like them or not, though cocky, arrogant VTs do put me off sometimes.

In the old days HMs submitted their own VTs.

Now BB picks and chooses answers to leading questions so that they can try to shape housemates to fit desired stereotypes.

They don't get a lot of control over their VT's anyway, don't production script them? I remember as far back as BB1, Melanie saying that she hated her VT script because they wanted her to sell herself as being flirtatious but she wasn't happy and made them re-write it

Never judge a book by it's cover anyway :hee:

The VT's mean nothing, they're told to ham them up and it's rare anyone is the same in the house as they were in their VT, for better or worse

I too find all the making fan clubs and stuff immediately a bit strange, usually takes me two weeks before I have some solid favourites. But hey, live and let live

Yeah I agree with Jack tbh, they only reason those HMs get chosen really is for being OTT in how much of bitch etc they are, it's a catch 22 really, they can then come back to haunt them but they may not have gotten in in the first place without having been too extreme

also, the second paragraph of your post jack I agree with, I never judge to harshly from VTs, always takes me a while to decide on who I like/don't like

I always feel cheated if they don't live up to the hype and would never back someone like that.

Pauline's was hilarious about 50 people wanted out after a week, :joker:I don't get joining the fans clubs so early on civilian BB so early either especially based on a VT, Chelsea already outed the leading questions by Production as he was asked what material things he would miss, but Emma tried to insinuate he wouldn't miss his family
