This time next year we'll have two 13 week CBBs and one fortnight civilian.

getting through 18 housemates in two months will be a bit of a mess but I can understand why they would shorten the season, it's not like the civ version has been performing very well lately
maybe a kind of short and snappy season will keep things active and prevent too many dull periods

It's pathetic. First it was 63 days which was bad enough, now it's in the fifties?!
They are taking the piss. And I guarantee you this is only so they can make August's CBB five weeks too like January's. Their overall contract is for thirteen weeks, so this is where the extra week is coming from
Like what is even the point in doing the series, eight weeks is a joke of a run...it usually gets going in week 5/6, that'll be near the final. Mess

Such a catastrophic mess
The length will forever be changing until like 7 weeks time

Hopefully it will change - wasn't BB15 originally supposed to be shorter than it was?

That means it'll end on the first week of August. Mess. If they want it short, make it 64 days or something.
I guess the question is, would you rather have a shorter QUALITY run of "Civilian" BBUK or a longer run but more average series...
Last season was too long. I was having to claw myself through the episodes closer to the finale. Especially since 99% of it was Marc produced "drama". I was happy they ended it earlier.
I choose quality over length.

BB16 was long because the series practically died after Day 18
